downCast converts XML documents valid according to the upCast DTD (and, in fact, any XML document whose DTD can be mapped into the upCast DTD) linked with an external stylesheet to Word and Rich Text Format (RTF) for editing and printing.
Combine it with upCast, and you have a combo that offers a unique, streamlined, roundtrip-capable and integrated XML editing and publishing solution based - among others - on the open standards XML, XLink, XSLT and CSS2.
The conversion process downCast implements tries to use the structuring RTF constructs wherever possible like native tables, character and paragraph styles derived automatically from the stylesheet, native lists, headers, footers, textboxes, footnotes or annotations.
This makes the result very different from a PDF document that places objects at specific positions on a canvas and is not editable by the end user. Instead, downCast makes the resulting document highly accessible for editing without breaking the general layout.
Inserting a list item in a numbered list with automatic renumbering or adding a column in a table is something which cannot easily (if at all) be done in output formats like PDF or XSL-FO by a regular user.
downCast project also supports more advanced features like rendering of OASIS Exchange Table Model tables or fields whose actual contents gets automatically calculated by Word.
Additionally, downCast does not rely on the availability of Word template files for styles or font definitions, which makes it suitable for Word document generation on server platforms other than Windows.
Two-byte encoding and Unicode support is built-in. Encodings for special fonts can be specified in a font property mapping table, as well as you can modify the default stylesheet used for the conversion.
downCast has a built-in slim, but efficient application programming interface (API). You can program against this API and thus include the complete functionality of our downCast Technology into your own applications.
By writing only a few lines of Java code, you gain complete control over the document conversion process the same way as you would using the GUI.

IDAutomation MICR CMC-7 Fonts includes high quality MICR CMC-7 fonts, which are used for bank check printing in Brazil, Mexico, France Spain, and most Spanish speaking countries. It includes the fonts at various width intensities to support multiple printer types.
This CMC-7 MICR font contains ten specially designed numeric characters, 0 through 9, and five special symbols for magnetic recognition and optical character recognition systems. TrueType, OpenType, PostScript, and PCL font versions are included in this Magnetic Ink Character Recognition font.

- Created Directly From ISO Specifications - The MICR CMC7 fonts were created according to ISO (International Standards Organization) specifications for MICR printing.
- Ease-of-Use - Although the CMC-7 fonts are scaleable, use the 12 point font size to print the CMC-7 fonts. Choosing the 12 point font size sets the CMC7 font height to 3.2 mm which is the standard for France and most other countries. The narrow version fonts have a font name ending in n?? where ?? is a two digit number that represents the percentage the vertical bars were decreased. For example, IDAutomationCMC7n10 is a font that is narrow by 10%.

DeskewHelper is the preprocessing operation of removing skew from images (especially bitmaps created using a scanner).

Skew is an artifact that can occur in scanned images because of the camera being misaligned, imperfections in the scanning or surface, or simply because the paper was not placed completely flat when scanned.

DeskewHelper allows automatic skew detection and correction.

Skew detection and correction is a very important problem when an OCR algorithm tries to detect and interpret characters from the source document. Many different solutions have been developed. The stage in which the skew detection takes place also varies from the first to the very last one before the OCR phase.

The document structure analysis and character recognition are usually done in several phases: scanning and thresholding, image enhancement, skew detection and correction, segmentation, classification and character recognition. Each step must be completed well enough for the performance of the sequence and result to be successful. Steps that follow the skew correction are inefficient if the correction fails.

The steps used to deskew an image are:

Calculate the slope of the document
Compute the rotation angle
Calculate the size of a new image large enough to hold the rotated image
Allocate the new image
Rotate the entire image
