Orca 0.27
Orca is a tool to monitor and plot any data to the Web. more>>
Orca generates a large of number of plots from different types of data sets.
Main features:
- Configuration file based.
- Reads white space separated data files.
- Watches data files for updates and sleeps between reads.
- Finds new files at specified times.
- Remembers the last modification times for files so they do not have to be reread continuously.
- Can plot the same type of data from different files into different or the same PNGs.
- Different plots can be created based on the filename.
- Parses the date from the text files.
- Create arbitrary plots of data from different columns.
- Ignore columns or use the same column in many plots.
- Add or remove columns from plots without having to deleting RRDs.
- Plot the results of arbitrary Perl expressions, including mathematical ones, using one or more columns.
- Group multiple columns into a single plot using regular expressions on the column titles.
- Creates an HTML tree of HTML files and PNG plots.
- Creates an index of URL links listing all available targets.
- Creates an index of URL links listing all different plot types.
- No separate CGI set up required.
- Can be run under cron or it can sleep itself waiting for file updates based on when the file was last updated.
Orca has only four command line options. They are:
-gifs: Generate GIFs instead of PNGs. Tell Orca to generate GIFs instead of PNGs. You may not want to generate GIFs since PNGs are 1/3 the size of GIFs and take less time to generate.
-o: Once. This tells Orca to go through the steps of finding files, updating the RRDs, updating the PNGs, and creating the HTML files once. Normally, Orca loops continuously looking for new and updated files.
-r: RRD only. Have Orca only update its RRD files. Do not generate any HTML or PNG files. This is useful if you are loading in a large amount of data in several invocations of Orca and do not want to create the HTML and PNG files in each run since it is time consuming.
-v: Verbose. Have Orca spit out more verbose messages. As you add more -vs to the command line, more messages are sent out. Any more than three -vs are not used by Orca.
After the command line options are listed, Orca takes one more argument which is the name of the configuration file to use. Sample configuration files can be found in the sample_configs directory with the distribution of this tool.
Lunar Domination 1.01 DEMO
Lunar Domination is a financial strategy game that combines traditional war strategy elements with business and finances. more>>
Lunar Domination is based on the concept of a market economy, and revolves around the competition between you and your opponent. In order to defeat your opponent, you must be the first to fill the ore quotas of two of the three clients in the scenario. Accomplishing this involves buying land, constructing buildings, and of course mining and selling the ore to the clients. Six different buildings with a unique approach to game economy, land management and resource management combine to create a challenging and rewarding experience.
Main features:
- Quick introductory tutorial so you can start playing in just ten minutes.
- Turn based gameplay, so you can take your time to weigh your decisions.
- Adjustable difficulty level to make the game challenging, but not too hard.
- Large and small scenarios so you can pick how long you want to play.
- Runs on most computers including laptops, 3D graphics card not required.
Installation instructions:
If your distribution is LSB compliant, the installer will create a program group and desktop shortcut for you. Otherwise you will have to create a shortcut manually, or run the game from the command line.
To run the game from the command line, you must run the shell script named "launch_lunar_domination" that is located in the games install directory. Running the executable directly will not work.
Known issues:
To run the game you must have libc version 2.4 or higher installed. Recent versions of most Linux distributions meet this requirement. If you have an older version of a distribution, an appropriate update should be available for it from its maintainers to upgrade to libc 2.4.
If you are running the 64-bit version of Ubuntu, you will need to install the package "ia32-libs" if you have not done so already. This package provides support for running 32-bit applications. Other 64-bit Debian based distributions (including Debian itself) may require installation of this package as well if it was not installed by default.

Code-Forge IDE 5.0
Code Forge IDE is an Integrated Development Environment for Unix/Linux. more>>
The Project Manager gives a visual representation of all of its components through the use of a dependency tree. Users can easily set up multiple targets of different types, mix programming languages and even revision control types within the same project.
The GUI project manager provides full abstraction of the "Makefile" concept. Project Makefiles are generated and maintained automatically by the CodeForge project engine. Intuitive Drag and Drop operations on the Dependency Tree and project desktop, are automatically converted to make script statements. A GNU Makefile representation of the Project is kept up to date with every change applied to the project. The resulting Makefile can be executed from the command line.
Tools options
The IDE hides the details of working with different compiled programming languages. The simple concept of creating a target from source files and even other targets works exactly the same for all compiled languages. Creating an "Executable" target and adding source files will automatically generate the the rules necessary to build that target. Creating a "Library" target is just as simple. Linking your "Library" target to an "Executable" target is as simple as dragging the icon of the "library" target onto the "Executable" targets icon.
Development tool interfaces are also abstracted. The IDE has preconfigured support for all major free and commercial compilers on the market today. Appropriate compilation and linker options are selected automatically and are graphically configurable. Dozens of other tools such as (ar, lexx, yacc, etc) are also supported by the development environment.
Code Forge IDE is fully Drag and Drop enabled between tools. Operations such as file modification, file comparison and revision control are all performed simply by dragging a file form the project desktop to the desired drop site.
The IDE provides the facilities to control the build, debug and execute actions at the target level. An environment variable editor allows the user to define a custom environment for each Project.
Project Window
A built-in advanced programmers editor is the first and only editor to maintain the correct indentation of the entire source file with each keystroke. (The indentation policy can be "downgraded" to the level of other editors via options) The editor features context-sensitive auto-completion and prototype-hinting.
The IDE includes a "best-in-class" debugger interface, that interfaces seemlessly with the editor so you can edit, rebuild and continue debugging never leaving the debugger itself.
Code Forge IDE makes Team Development a snap through the use of local "sandboxes", project merge and transparent support of all major types of Revision Control. Complete abstraction of the Revision Control interface makes revision control specifics transparent to the user. Interaction will all revision control types looks the same to the user. Drag and Drop operations within Dependency Tree generate and execute the correct revision control commands.
The Code Forge Integrated Development Environment provides a uniform interface to all its features for all programming languages, compilers and revision control systems on all unix-like operating systems. You will never have to learn another IDE again!
Main features:
- As you type context highlighting and Automatic (WYSIWYG) indentation
- Auto-competion and prototype hinting for C/C++
- Auto-completes C/C++ object attributes and functions when ., -> and :: are typed
- Offers both context-sensitive and context-less symbol completion hints.
- Displays function prototype hints and highlights each argument as it is typed
- Word completion
- Fully customizable fonts and colors and indentation
- As you type Begin/End construct matching and brace matching
- Multi-level undo, Bookmarks and Macro record/play
- SMED can also be run from the Command-line
- On-the-fly Function/Method List gathering and browsing for all supported languages
