Babel Enterprise is an audit tool, focused on evaluating Operating System base security. Babel Enterprise evaluate the security level, or hardening, from a wide range of Operating Systems. Babel Enterprise run several audit probes and checks to give a photograph of the current system security status. Babel Enterprise also gives a Security Indicator of whole system.

Babel Enterprise design is made to manage system security in a big and complex enviroment with many different kind of Operating Systems, versions, technology and configurations. This complexity include to manage different human teams with different abilities and responsabilities. Babel Enterprise its a multiuser, distributed management auditing system for the major Operating Systems of the real world. Babel Enterprise also allows to be installed which redundant components in all of its components.

Each time you run a new audit policy, you will be able to see and evaluate objectively each important change in your systems: modifications on existing elements, new or erased elements, so that it will know if the security of that system its going to get better or its going to get worse and, very important, what its happenning.

Babel Enterprise uses a pragmatic point of view and tries to evaluate those points that represent a security risk and could be improved by intervention of the administrator. Babel Enterprise is Free Software, so its very flexible because has an open API and all internal details to allow advanced users to adapt to any imaginable audit check, without limits.

Babel Enterprise its a non-intrusive tool, so absolutely no change is made in your systems. Babel Enterprise only run so many tests as you need and give you the results in a detailed way, including a final numeric Security Indicator.

Babel Enterprise agents has versions to run in the last versions of Microsoft™, like Windows 2003, Windows XP, and the more common Unix systems, like Solaris™ 9, AIX™ 5.1, SUSE GNU/Linux 9 ES and Debian/Ubuntu Dapper, but Babel Enterprise agents could be very easily adapted for another versions and other similar systems, like BSD systems or HPUX™).

Babel Enterprise is Free Software. It has a public source repository (Subversion). All documentation has been generated using Free Standards, like DocBook SGML, and edited using Free Software (eMacs, OpenJade). WEB page for the project is http://babel.sourceforge.net. DSSH was written as a direct replacement for OpenSSH client for our use. The project adds SSH over SSH tuneling capabilities (for example to log in to network which is hidden by firewall), scripting support (using Groovy), advanced agent (which allows storing of passwords) and "su -" interactive logging for machines, which have disabled direct root login.

All of this was done to enable automated scripting and logging to lots of machines based on few simple rules.

It uses Ganymed SSH library (slightly patched). I tried to contribute my changes back to Ganymed-SSH authors and if I succeed, I will probably try to stick with official Ganymed-SSH distribution.

StartCom Ltd., a small software house located in the south of Israel. The city of Eilat, at the Red Sea, is famous as a tourist resort, but now also, because its the home of StartCom Linux.
StartCom used to develop applications and websites for local and international customers and operates MediaHostï¿1⁄2 since 1999. StartCom is also a specialist for Linux related implementations. The decision to produce StartCom Linux was made in May 2004.
Enhancements:
- Ahead of a busy spring season and in anticipation of new StartCom Enterprise Linux AS-5 and StartCom MultiMedia Edition ML-6 comes an updated release of the Advanced Server 4 series. eGroupWare is a multi-user, web-based groupware suite developed on a custom set of PHP-based APIs.

Version restrictions:
- EGW does not need to be compiled. EGW is composed only of PHP, HTML and image files
- EGW needs a Database server. MySQL or PostgreSQL or MSSQL preferred. Can be local or remote.
- EGW needs a php4 enabled web server. Apache1.3.x with PHP4.3.x preferred.
- EGW may need an e-mail server. Can be local or remote and IMAP or POP.

Black Orion Network is an update and system management platform for among others Black Orions redhat-compatible Enterprise Linux Distributions. Black Orion Enterprise Linux software distributions are offered to you by the open source community as free software.

A program is free software if users are free to redistribute copies, either with or without modifications, either gratis or charging a fee for distribution, to anyone anywhere. Being free to do these things means (among other things) that you do not have to ask or pay for permission. Please feel free to make and redistribute as many copies of Black Orion Enterprise Linux as you like.

How It Works:

1. Obtain Black Orion Enterprise Linux

Obtain one of Black Orions redhat-compatible Enterprise Linux Distributions from the downloads section.

2. Burn cd images

Burn the downloaded iso images on to a cd.

3. Register yourself as a Black Orion Network Member

Register yourself as a member in the Black Orion Network section.

4. Install Black Orion on a computer

Read the manuals for the various installation options. The system can also be installed as a rhel4 virtual machine.

5. Connect your system to the Black Orion Network

Connect your system to the Black Orion Network with the up2date client installed on your system. You can find up2date by right-clicking the Black Orion Network Alert Icon on your desktop. Connect your system with your member name and password (see 3).

Enterprise Sign On Engine (ESOE) is an advanced system which allows an enterprise to meet its individual goals for integrated identity management, federation, single sign on, authorization and accountability for resource access in a very extensible manner.
The ESOE is built using the OASIS SAML 2.0 specification, and the ESOEs powerful authorization engine is built around a reduced version of the OASIS XACML 2.0 standard which we have called Lightweight eXtensible Authorization Control Markup Language or "LXACML".
The ESOE can integrate identity from unlimited repositories, automatically create sessions for users whom are logged into Active Directory (true single sign on), provide for centralized authorization policy management and natively federate with technologies such as Shibboleth and OpenID.
We hope youll find the ESOE a good choice for your needs amongst the wide variety of SSO solutions that are available, both from commercial providers and other open source projects. Of course if youre already using an SSO solution, there is a pretty good chance the ESOE can interact with it, allowing you to use the enhanced capabilities of the ESOE without needing to replace everything you already have.
Being heavily standards based, all your existing identity infrastructure such as LDAP compliant directories, databases and even flat files are only a plugin away. The ESOE is designed to fit around your environment, not have your environment change to fit it.
Were calling the current release an Alpha and some of the service providers, tools and documentation are still coming up to full completion. Nonetheless, we hope youll have a look around at what the ESOE can do for your enterprise and contribute back anything you can to help us build a strong community of users for the future.
Enhancements:

Blackbird Enterprise Service Bus is the first enterprise service bus (ESB) for PHP developers. The project provides a run-time container that loads, manages, and executes classes, provides connectivity and utility services to access external resources, such as message queues and collects and exposes metrics data to management tools

Why Are You Doing This When Already Exists?
ITema provides managed, hosted applications to small businesses, with an emphasis on integration. Part of our vision is to offer our customers choice, so they arent locked into a specific product or vendor. We need very good integration technology or well end up with an unmanageable spider web of integration hooks. An ESB is tailor-made for this type of work. It gives us the loose coupling we need to let applications run independently, and handles grunt-work tasks like communicating via message queues so we can focus on writing the code that does the real work.
The available Java ESB products didnt meet our needs. PHP was a more natural choice, but there was no ESB available for it. We decided it was better for us to write what we needed than to try to shoehorn what we were doing into another product. Our hope is that by releasing Blackbird under the GPL, other developers will get as much out of it as we have.
Blackbird isnt intended to be an isolated project, or a replacement for a Java ESB. In fact, we anticipated that it could be very useful to use both a Java and PHP ESB at the same time, in different layers of an architecture. Blackbirds design makes this straightforward, and it expects to communicate via STOMP with a message queue such as Apache ActiveMQ. It can even use the same ActiveMQ instance that supports a ServiceMix environment, so writing a Blackbird component to communicate with a ServiceMix component is easy!
