OpenPCD firmware 220

OpenPCD firmware 220

OpenPCD is a free and open RFID reader reference design platform. more>>
OpenPCD is a free and open RFID reader reference design platform. The OpenPCD firmware is software that runs in OpenPCDs AT91SAM7 ARM controller, and connects the RFID reader hardware (CL RC632 ASIC) with the Host PC via USB. The Firmware includes a custom USB device stack and drivers for the various embedded AT91SAM7 components. The firmware itself does not run on Linux, but it only works with a Linux host PC talking to it.
OpenPCD is a free hardware design for Proximity Coupling Devices (PCD) based on 13,56MHz communication. This device is able to screen informations from Proximity Integrated Circuit Cards (PICC) conforming to vendor-independent standards such as ISO 14443, ISO 15693 as well as proprietary protocols such as Mifare Classic. Contactless cards like these are for example used in the new electronic passports.
The intention of the OpenPCD project is to offer the users full hardware control of the RFID signal and to provide different output signals for screening the communication. With already existing Free Software from the OpenMRTD project for implementing the PCD side protocol stack of various RFID protocols, this project will happily extend the free toolchain around RFID verification.
Enhancements:
- This is the initial version of the firmware.
- It supports basic RFID reader functionality for the ISO14443A.

firmware-tools 1.0.19

firmware-tools 1.0.19

firmware-tools is an architecture that utilizes native Linux packaging formats. more>>
firmware-tools is an architecture that utilizes native Linux packaging formats (.rpm and .deb) and native Linux change management frameworks (yum, apt, etc) for delivering and installing system firmware. firmware-tools architecture is OS distribution, hardware vendor, device, and change management system agnostic.
The architecture is easy as PIE: splitting Payload, Inventory, and Executable components into separate packages, using package format Requires/Provides language to handle dependencies at a package installation level, and using matching Requires/Provides language to handle runtime dependency resolution and installation ordering.
The framework then provides unifying applications such as inventory_firmware and apply_updates that handle runtime ordering of inventory, execution, and conflict resolution/ notification for all of the plug-ins. These are the commands a system administrator runs. Once all of the separate payload, inventory, and execution packages are in package manager format, and are put into package manager repositories, then standard tools can retreive, install, and execute them:
# yum install $(inventory_firmware -b)
# apply_updates
Enhancements:
- Initial stable proposed API and initial CLI.
- Several small typos for names of commands have been fixed.
- Tested with the first public release of firmware-addon-dell for updating select Dell system BIOSs across Dell servers, desktops, and laptops.

FreeWRT 1.0.2

FreeWRT 1.0.2

FreeWRT is a meta GNU/Linux distribution for embedded systems. more>>
FreeWRT project is a meta GNU/Linux distribution for embedded systems. In this context "meta" means, you can build the complete distribution from source. FreeWRT is meant to be an appliance development kit (ADK) especially designed for embedded system developers and advanced users.
The FreeWRT developer team provides a menu based configuration to choose between embedded boards, root filesystem flavours and hundreds of software packages for your own Linux based appliance. The ADK downloads all software packages via the internet and creates a working toolchain (compiler, assembler, debugger), kernel and base system containing only the minimal set of software and drivers to support all integrated hardware of your embedded system. The default firmware image configures existing non-wireless network interfaces so that you can connect via secure shell client to your embedded system after the installation of the firmware image.
The best way to install FreeWRT on a supported device is to use our ADK. One of our goals is, to provide a host independent ADK, which can be used to create your own appliance on Linux, *BSD, MacOSX and Windows. Check the list of the supported build systems to see how many are supported now.
Alternatively you can create a firmware image with our Web Image Builder. The Web Image Builder does not have so many customization options, but is useful to get a feeling about the possibilities of FreeWRT.
FreeWRT supports following embedded devices. We only have support for Broadcom based devices with Linux 2.4. Some very popular wireless lan routers are based on Broadcom hardware, e.g. Linksys WRT54GL, Asus WL500g premium and Netgear WGT634u.
If you like start with FreeWRT, check at supported Hostsystems if your operating system is a supported buildsystem. Then get the latest stable buildroot from our repository via subversion command line tool:
$ svn co svn://www.freewrt.org/branches/freewrt_1_0
Please never build as root!
You can start the menu based configuration via "make". If the prerequisite checks are successful you will get a menu, where you should at least choose a target system. If you exit the menu, you can start the build process via "make" or in more verbose mode via "make v". The buildprocess will download all needed sources via internet (typically about 200MB) and will build a working toolchain (compiler, assembler, debugger), a kernel and a usable basic root filesystem for your target.
Enhancements:
- A major stability problem with ethernet bridging was fixed.
- Security updates were made for bind9.
- Updates were made for asterisk, tmsnc, nano, rsync, and aiccu.
- New packages include shorewall, djbdns, and daemontools.
- Startup scripts were fixed for openswan and nfs-kernel-server.

Grid Wars 2 is a space shooter arcade game. more>>
Grid Wars 2 is a space shooter arcade game.

Grid Wars2 is basically a PC version of the popular Xbox 360 game, Geometry Wars. Made by Mark Incitti, this release features less special effects compared to the original but also new controls to cater for players who do not own a dual analog joypad.

Your small ship sits in a one-screen grid and vectorized enemies spawn to attack. Use your any-directional gun to stay alive while you rake in points. Along the way a few power-ups will give you a hand, and theres always the emergency screen-clearing bomb you can unleash.

The hybrid option control allows a player to use both mouse and keyboard for ship movement as well as aiming their shots.

Xara LX Xtreme 0.7-Revision1692

Xara LX Xtreme 0.7-Revision1692

Xara Xtreme is the worlds fastest and, we believe, most versatile graphics software. more>>
Xara Xtreme is the worlds fastest and, we believe, most versatile graphics software. Xara LX Xtreme program is primarily a vector graphics program, but is one of the new generation of cross-over products that handles photos and drawings with equal ease. Xara Xtreme is also renowned for its slick, easy-to-use and easy-to-learn approach.
Xara Xtreme remains the most powerful (in terms of performance) and the most productive product available - these are objective measures and not just marketing spiel. Xara pioneered many of the graphic technologies that have become industry standard, from the first vector anti-aliasing, to the first vector transparency, including graduated transparency. The latest versions continue to innovate with dozens of industry firsts such as real-time vector feathering, embedded JPEG, the worlds most efficient file storage, and unrivalled performance.
Linux needs a top-tier commercial-standard graphics program. The Linux desktop has come on leaps and bounds in the last year or so but it still lacks any vector or general purpose graphics program to genuinely compete with Windows and Mac commercial products. And although desktop Linux is evolving at a rapid rate, the platform is behind in the graphics market. We intend to change that.
Xara X has been a commercial shipping Windows product for 10 years (and non-Windows versions go back even further). Its a modern, object orientated design thats highly stable, and has gained hundreds of thousands of users. Our users and customers have produced artwork thats more than a match for artwork created with any other vector graphics program.
Xara Xtreme on Linux will not only bring a leading-edge graphic tool to the platform, but with community assistance, has the potential to become the worlds most powerful, easiest-to-use and simply the worlds best graphics program. If we get it right this could bring the Linux desktop into whole sectors of the market that is has not been able to address before.
Main features:
- Open most XAR files
- Select objects with the select tool.
- Drag objects around
- Use the selection handles to scale and shear objects.
- Use the zoom tool
- Use the push tool and/or middle mouse button to push the page around
- Group and ungroup (Ctrl-G, Ctrl-U)
- Undo/redo using the toolbar buttons
- Use the shape editor to edit and create shapes
- Draw rectangles using the rectangle tool
- Draw ellipses using the ellipse tool
- Use the arrange toolbar to change the z-order of objects
- Use the arrange toolbar to slice/join/add/subtract shapes
- Delete objects
- Fill and transparency tools now work
- The shadow and freehand tools partially work
- The color line is now present and you can click on it or drag from it to select colors.
- ...... and as more and more functionality starts to work theres undoubtedly many other areas not listed here that work now too!

WANPIPE 2.3.4-13 / 3.1.3 Beta

WANPIPE S-series is a family of intelligent multi-protocol WAN and ADSL adapters that support data transfer rates up to 8Mbps. more>>
WANPIPE S-series is a family of intelligent multi-protocol WAN and ADSL adapters that support data transfer rates up to 8Mbps.
All WAN protocols supported by WANPIPE are implemented in firmware and run on the card. An advantage of an intelligent adapter is that it offloads the system CPU and improves stability.
By adding a Sangoma WAN/ADSL component to the Linux kernel, one can create a powerful multi-T1/ADSL router/firewall with proven reliability of Linux. Sangoma S-series cards support an optional on board T1/E1 CSU/DSU that eliminates all external components of a traditional routing solution: i.e. T1/E1 line can be directly connected to the card.
WANPIPE supports the following protocols, ATM, ADSL, Frame Relay, PPP, MULTILINK PPP, CHDLC, X25(API), BitStreaming (API), BiSync(API), and SDLC(API).
Furthermore, WANPIPE supports custom API development such as: Credit card verification, Voice-over IP, Satellite Comm. All device drivers are part of the standard Linux Kernel distribution.
Whats New in 3.1.3 Beta Development Release:
- Drivers can now work with 1, 2, 5, and 10ms chunk sizes.
- Numerous major bugs have been fixed, including issues with echo cancellation, DTMF synchronization, E1/CRC4 mode, and startup.
