Nebulus is an OpenGL/SDL visualization plugin for XMMS.

XMMS Nebulus Plugin features many options including fullscreen mode, effects priorities, the display of the song title, and more.

Its conceptually a compilation of various OpenGL effects that depends on the music

XMMS VQF Plugin is the native Plugin for XMMS. I felt it was important to get it out there when I was pretty sure there was no serious bugs. If you do find a bug, read the INSTALL and ChangeLog files for details of what to do.

Kindly dont send mails of the nature, It sucks or, its broke with no additional information. I am confident there wont be need for mails like that though.

Compiling is usually trivial, ./configure, make, make install. Under Debian, it depends on the libglib1.2-dev and libgtk1.2-dev packages so youll need to install them.

However, XMMS VQF Plugin also depends on a binary SDK, it will not work with newer compilers. Late 3.2 compilers and all 3.3 compilers are known to now work unless the std namespace is explicitly disabled for the g++ build.

If you use a recent compiler, download the binary version of the plugin instead. If you have your input plugins somewhere other than /usr/local/lib/xmms/Input, you will need to add a --prefix to the ./configure.

XMMS Now Playing plugin outputs information of the song currently being played in XMMS to specified text files. It supports ID3 tags (using libid3tag from MAD project) and has some other bells and whistles.

This is a now playing plugin for XMMS, replacement for song_change.so

This is a really quick hack, but it works for me.

song_change.so (song change plugin) is included in XMMS package and provides
somewhat relative functionality, but with some limitations.

Improvements:

1. support for id3/id3v2 tags via libid3tag from MAD
2. support for additional conditions (if paused, if playing, etc..) not just playing/end of playlist reached.

XMMS Real Random plugin overrides the builtin shuffle mode and plays the titles in a more random way.

The shuffle mode of xmms is not as I expected it. So I created this plugin.

For using this plugin, the plugin has to be loaded by xmms and the shuffle mode of xmms has to be "on".

The plugin becomes active if you are playing a song for a while. If this song ended it jumps to a random position within the playlist.

XMMS Picture Viewer (alias Xmms-Slideshow) is an Input Plugin for XMMS. Although XMMS was mainly intended for use as audio player its features and its broad usage makes it also interesting for use with other medias. An example is eg. the XMMS Mplayer Input Plugin which enables XMMS to play video files.
XMMS Picture Viewer Input Plugin adds picture support. Whenever a picture file is selected in XMMS the plugin will be used to display it. There is a configurable time how long the picture should be displayed. When this time has elapsed the next file from the XMMS playlist will be started. So its very easy to use XMMS for showing a slideshow (and thats why the project is also called "XMMS-Slideshow").
Together with Bemused XMMS-Slideshow could be used to control your picture galleries from a mobile phone. From the phones display you can see and navigate through the complete directory tree on your harddisk.
The XMMS Picture Viewer was written for Linux and was developed/tested under kernel 2.6.11.4 (but there should be no obstacles to run it under other kernel versions).

The SW is written in C and uses standard C-libraries and the GLib2. Additionally the SDL package and Gtk2 need to be installed.

CDcover XMMS Plugin displays a graphic dependent on the currently played song.
Normal usage would be to display the CD covers for the different songs. The graphics are retrieved from your computer. Therefore searchpaths can be defined, where a corresponding cover is searched for.
Main features:
- Define as many different search paths as you need, including wildcards
- Buildin skin, full support for custom skins
- Many different graphic formats (supported formats depend on your gtk installation)
- Automatically resizes the images, and preserves aspect-ratio upon request

Sony RM-X2S XMMS Plugin plugin lets you control XMMS with a Sony RM- X2S joystick. These joysticks are typically shipped with certain car radios. The use of similar devices from other vendors should be possible. The joystick is connected to the standard game port.
Installation:
Compile and install the plugin source with:
./configure
make
make install
You can supply the following options to configure:
--enable-debug
enable debugging prints
--enable-nls
enable localization
You can insert module options into /etc/modules.conf to load the joystick module automatically by make installmodule.
If you are not root, or dont want to install into the global plugin directory use make install-home to install the plugin to your private xmms directory (~/.xmms).
Setup in XMMS
- Now start xmms and get the plugin configuration panel with CTRL+p. Select the plugin and click the Configure button (picture).
- Check the device setting. If you have only one joystick port, the default of /dev/js0 should be fine. (picture)
- Calibrate the joystick. The systems needs to perform 4 measurements each lasting 2 seconds. If you press the calibration button the first measure will start and a popup window will appear after 2 seconds. (picture)
- Press the OFF Button on your Sonystick on click OK. Leave the button pressed during the measurement (2 seconds) until the text in the popup window changes
- Now the same procedure with the MUTE Button
- Now press no button on the sonystick
- Now set the precision to 5. If you experience difficulties when using the joystick (events without touching the joystick or some buttons having the same event) you can alter this setting. Lower values make the joystick more precise, thus harder to control.
- Configure the buttons. A beep indicates that an event was successfully recorded.
- Pressing the OK Button to save the configuration. Cancel will not save any changes made to the configuration.
- Finally you can enable the plugin in the XMMS preferences window.
