Soma is a suite of programs that let you play and schedule audio files from the Web.
Soma suite supports extra utilities using run-time loadable modules and includes a broadcasting scheduler, a tool to control it via TCP/IP, and an utility to check configuration file syntax.
Soma project started in summer 2003 to manage the digital version of an activists radio old spools.
The first release just gave just the chance to play random some audio files in a directory using an external program (at that time mpg123). In despite of that this software was never used, i kept on thinking about soma project for some weeks, until i started directly to work with a group called Reload, which was experimenting at the time a project called "eterete" and creating a place for a web radio at Pergola Tribe (a selfmanaged house in Milan).
We used, of course, a release, which was a little bit better to manage the radio-playlist and of course we implemented the software itself. From september till december soma became a software suite, configurable through file and (remote administration...). Thats thanks to the relationships and the inputs that such a community like Reload can create.
A group of passionate activists was able to make broadcastings and broadcast schedules, to find out new problems and to give implementation advices. They also suggest me the idea that soma (originally a simple play-list manager) could become a programs suite, which has a player, a software for deferred broadcasting, a more user friendly admininstration, documentation and distribution.
Some time after came somaplayer and somaadmin. The player was still very behind compared to my implementation ideas. Somadmin was straight away on line and advertised on radio.inventati.org/somadmin/
In January 2004 we showed Soma at the first italian (web and air-waves) radio meeting in Naples.The meeting was technologically and politically profitable and it was an attempt to build up a real radio-network.
Radio.inventati.org was actually the only example od direct cooperation among even very different people: individuals, improvised groups, very old and movement radios and experiences from overseas countries.
On the web site there are occasional streamings, weekly streamings, and 24hrs music flows.
The object of the technical research was a digital environment, which could let individuals or whole communities gain access to a common schedule with resum?s, repetitions, deferred programs, live broadcastings, regular broadcastings as one national and international network.
Soma could satisfy this need and could be easly managed through the web thanks to somadmin, which could update the soma admin in real time.
The developments went on. Somaplayer is now reality. The only music player which can stream directly an mp3, an ogg vorbis, a wav, a track from an audio cd or a streaming directly on an icecast server (icecast 2 or shoutcast) or just play it on a computer using sound drivers or sound daemons.
At the moment more other people work at this project, who debug the software, write docs, work at the website and make installation packages (for debian).
Enhancements:
- This release fixes three bugs related to group permissions, the 31st of months, and an error in libsoma related to buffers and protocols.

The Zaval Proxy Suite is an easy-to-use solution that allows monitoring TCP-based protocols, such as HTTP, NNTP and others. It is extremely useful in software development and can be used as a debug tool. Another area of appliance is multiple connections logging with proxy facilities. As soon as its a pure java solution it can be used almost everywhere.

The Zaval Proxy functions as a proxy and transfers data between the server and the client writing incoming and outgoing traffic into log files. So you can see these raw data as is.

On start the Zaval Proxy Suite goes through configuration file and creates the specified number of proxy servers and the shutdown server.

"Proxy server" is a server socket listening on the specified port. When the client is connected proxy connects to the target server and transfers data between them logging entire traffic. On each connection 2 files are created - xxx-input (request data from the client) and xxx-output (response data from the server). The "xxx" means here the sequential number of the connection for the proxy server. The traffic is logged into the separate directory for each proxy.

Shutdown server is needed to close all open connections correctly and close the program.

So, in the particular case you should specify address of proxy server in client application (web browser, for example) and address of the target server in the proxy configuration file. You can create any number of proxy servers that run at the same time, however, they should use different port numbers.

TAHI Test Suite provides a mechanism for validating an IPv6 implementation against a standardized test for conformance to the IPv6 specification, extensions and directly related protocols.
TAHI Project is the joint effort formed with the objective of developing and providing the verification technology for IPv6.
The growth process of IPv4 was the history of encountering various kinds of obstacles and conquering such obstacles. However, once the position as infrastructure was established, it is not allowed to repeat the same history. This is a reason why the verification technology is essential for IPv6 deployment.
We research and develop conformance tests and interoperability tests for IPv6.
We closely work with the KAME project and USAGI project. We help activities of them in the quality side by offering the verification technology we develop in the TAHI project and improve the development efficiency.
We open the results and fruits of the project to the public for FREE. Any developer concerned with IPv6 can utilize the results and fruits of TAHI project freely. A free software plays an important role in progress of the Internet. We believe that providing the verification technology for FREE contributes to advances of IPv6. Besides the programs, the specifications and criteria of verification will be included in the Package.

c42 Backup Suite is a simple python program for maintaining a central backup in a small, but distributed environment with a central file share. Basically it is a wrapper around the tar backup facility.
Main features:
- Common, simple configuration of backup tasks.
- Use same configuration for full and incremental backups.
- Provide a network wide index of backups.
- Separates creating and compressing of backup files
- Automatically delete outdated backup files.
- The rules which defines if a backup file is outdated or not are specified in the configuration.
- Provide a configuration mechanism that is strong enough to write general backup configurations, which can be shared between different machines and users.
A task is defined backup template. At invocation of the task it is determined if a full or incremental backup should be done.
The separation of creating and compressing of backup files allow the use on a client machine with low CPU resources. For client machines with big CPU resources or a small network bandwidth the compression can be done also on the client side.

Kumula is designed to become a complete software suite for business needs. Started as software for consultants, it is flexible enough to be used by almost any class of business. Kumula Business Suite provides a small CRM (Clients) and a Mini-DMS (Documents), enhanced by some other applications. Everybody is invited to use it or enhance it.
Kumula is written in Qt (http://www.trolltech.com/products/qt/), PyQt and Python using the fabulous Eric3 development environment.
Enhancements:
- This is the last stable release before Ill port it to Qt4 (as "Kumula2"), so I feel free to call it "1.0".
- The whole suite is becoming bigger and bigger, so now its time to split it. This is the base package with the central Kumula library and the most important applications. The package contains the following programs:
BizCalc:
- The modular designed calculator tool, coming with a spartanic RPN calculator and an unit conversion module
Clients:
- The client/customer management application, with many improvements (like individual client attributes) and the modules "Info" (logo+description), "Contacts" (for managing contact persones, addresses and communication data) and "Tickets" (for letting the users talk about a client like on a web forum)
Configurator:
- The central configuration utility, to setup the database access and the user interface (menus, icons, ...) of all Kumula applications.
Users:
- A small tool for managing the people using Kumula.
- Further application will be provided in separate packages for easier maintenance and faster bugfixes and updates.

Easy Benchmarking Suite is aimed at testing and benchmarking sites. Basically, the suite can:
- Issue requests to a URL. A benchmark typically consists of a given number of clients that concurrently issue a number of requests. A request can be any HTTP request (GET, POST, HEAD etc.) with all necessary HTTP header information (session cookies, basic authentication information, etc.);
- Get a quick overview of the results of a benchmark: how many trials succeeded, what are the average times for connecting and processing, what is the standard deviation of these times;
- Prepare a GnuPlot command file so that the obtained results can be plotted.
This document describes the suite. Furthermore, manual pages are provided for the separate parts of the suite: sitebench, sitecollect, and siteplot.

XAO::Web is a Perl module for XAO Web Developer, dynamic content building suite.
XAO::Web is a part of XAO open source web services suite. It allows to build dynamic web content using data, templates and external input.
The distinguishing feature of XAO::Web is in its modular design where almost every aspect of functionality can be altered and alterations can be re-used. No complex code is embedded in the templates which allows to upgrade code and templates separately or maintain multiple visual representations of the same functionality at the same time.
Aside from that most interesting features of XAO::Web are:
- Perl code is not mixed with templates. Templates can be normal HTML files if no processing is required.
- A specific site can replace or modify standard XAO::Web objects if required by overriding or extending their methods. You do not need to re-implement entire object to make a site specific change.
- In case of system object upgrade or bug fix there is no need to alter site-specific changes normally.
- Site can create any extension objects or embed third-party extensions as well.
- One server can serve arbitrary number of XAO::Web sites each with however extended functionality without creating any conflicts. That includes different modifications to the system objects for different sites.
- Not limited to Web environment, allows to build any dynamic content -- content of mail messages or reports for instance.
- Works with CGI or mod_perl (mod_perl is recommended for production grade sites).
If used in mod_perl mode improves performance by using caching of configuration, parsed templates, database handlers and so on.
- XAO::Web is by default integrated with XAO::FS (see XAO::FS) as a database layer, but this is not a requrement -- if for any reason a different database must be used for a site it can be easily and gracefully achieved.
- Hosting providers can allow their customers to build very complex sites without allowing them to execute arbitrary code, by allowing to modify only templates.
