Free x11 software for linux

The wmctrl program is a command line tool to interact with an EWMH/NetWM compatible X Window Manager.
It provides command line access to almost all the features defined in the EWMH specification. Using it, its possible to, for example, obtain information about the window manager, get a detailed list of desktops and managed windows, switch and resize desktops, change number of desktops, make windows full-screen, always-above or sticky, and activate, close, move, resize, maximize and minimize them.
The X11::WMCtrl module provides a simple wrapper to this program.
Installation
To install this module type the following:

TinyPTC/X11 is a framebuffer library for the X Window system. TinyPTC is a reduced subset of OpenPTC, made exclusively with size optimizations in mind. TinyPTC is a somehow "low-level" graphics library that runs on top of XLib, providing only a few functionalities you may need when working with framebuffer devices.
TinyPTC will simplify your programs that are using X11 to output graphics. It does all the grunt work for you, and your life will be easier.

PDCurses is a public domain curses library for Win32, DOS, OS/2 and X11, implementing most of the functions available in System V R4 curses. PDCurses for X11 supports most compilers for these platforms.
PDCurses is distributed principally as source code, but pre-compiled libraries are available for various compilers. See the downloads page for a list.
The X11 port of PDCurses, known as XCurses, allows existing text-mode curses programs to be re-compiled and linked with PDCurses to produce a native X11 application.
Enhancements:

xonix project is a port of a classic game for X11.

This is port of clasic game XONIX. Your goal is to get more than 70% of area. You draw line. When line is closed area is yours! Eneby balls guards it.. Displaying of gif images at your are is supported.

Note:There is small bug and some images causes crash of game.. I am really sorry. It was my first program in C so it looks very ugle and it is impossible to correct it

xexec is a client/server system to locate a program via the X11 protocol and spawn it.

It is useful for loading the Web browser on your machine from a program run on a remote host.

Usage:

hostb$ xexec open-url http://www.google.com/

note that your "exe" for xlisten must return before xlisten responds. any output written to stdout will be passed back to xexec.

aewm is a minimalist window manager for X11. It has no nifty features, but is light on resources and extremely simple in appearance.
It should eventually make a good reference implementation of the ICCCM. A few separate programs are included to handle running programs, switching between windows, etc.
aewm was based on 9wm, which has also inspired lwm, larswm, and w9wm. It has in turn inspired the following window managers:

XCclock is a small application which offers a nice clock and an alarm function.

Simply push the right mouse button above the clock and select something in the popup menu.

To run and build the Xclasses X11 layout library is required.

Usage of XCclock:

xclock [-q] [-m] [-t]

q : disables quit functions in menus
m : disables minutes in clock (usefull if you use a really small one)
t : disables the textbox below the clock that shows the alarm time

ezxdisp is a simple graphics library that works on the X11 and Win32 platforms. ezxdisp library has a small set of functions for drawing simple 2D/3D graphics.
For example, following code will create a 100x100 window with white background, and will draw red circle in the centre of the window.
