Free x11 disk activity feedback software for linux

X11 Disk Activity Feedback shows disk activity by animating the X11 cursor.

It provides a visual feedback of local disk activity by changing the default X11 mouse pointer to an animated wheel.

Installation:

Untar and change into the new directory and:

# xmkmf
# make
# make install

Icon execute feedback replaces the zooming rectangle that is drawn if you activate an icon in konqueror for execution feedback. It removes the rectangle and instead zooms the icon bigger and fades it out while doing. Its like MacOS X execution feedback.
Currently works in Konqueror, Kicker and all file dialogs. You will need a machine > 600 MHz for this though, else the
animation may be slow.
This is a patch against kdebase-3.5.6 and kdelibs-3.5.6
So you have to recompile the two packages. Please only do
that if you are experienced enough with recompiling KDE.
Apply the patches as follows:
1. Get kdebase-3.5.6
2. Get kdelibs-3.5.6
3. Get this patch
4. Unpack all archives
5. Change to the dir you unpacked kdelibs
6. Execute "patch -p1 7. Recompile kdelibs
8. Install kdelibs (necessary as some header files changed)
9. Change to the dir you unpacked kdebase
7. Execute "patch -p1 8. Recompile kdebase
9. Install kdebase
10. Logout of kde and then login again.
11. Watch the icons zooming

Netscape Friends Activity Sidebar is a Firefox extension that helps you keep tabs on what stories your Netscape friends are submitting, commenting, and voting on. A new toolbar button (shown in the extension preview image) features Chad, the older, more mature brother of AOLs little yellow chat mascot. When there is new activity by your friends (i.e., a new comment, story submission, or vote, depending on your settings), the button will be activated and Chad will send a friendly wave your way. Clicking on the activated button will open a list of your friends activity in the sidebar, allowing you to easily browse their stories and comments. Each time you view your friends activity, you will only be shown activity that is new since the last time you opened the sidebar.

Note: The sidebar limits activity to five items for each friend. If there are more than five items to view, a "View all of Chads activity" link will be shown at the bottom of the friends section. You can always view all of a friends activity by clicking on their name or avatar.

To make use of this extension, you must be logged into Netscape.com. If you do not have a Netscape.com account, sign up at http://www.netscape.com/signup Accounts are free, and it only takes a few minutes to create one. Once you have a Netscape.com account, you can submit stories and videos, vote for other peoples stories, rate comments, comment on stories you find interesting, as well as use this extension.

Apple Disk Transfer ProDOS (or ADTPro for short) transfers diskettes and logical disk images between Apple ][-era computers and the modern world. If youre familiar with the original ADT, ADTPro extends ADTs reach by working with more logical disk formats, drive types, communications devices, and host operating systems.

Server
The server program runs on a computer capable of running Java. Depending on how you want to connect to your Apple, you might also need a serial port and cables, an Uthernet card for your apple, or a couple of audio patch cables. The server offers a compact user interface that shows what communications are taking place between the host and the Apple ][.
The servers primary role is to send and receive disk images as requested from the client. But if you have recently acquired an Apple and a disk drive, and you have no software for it - youre in a bit of a tricky situation if you want to move software from the Internet all the way to your shiny new Apple. ADTPros server can help get you get bootstrapped.
Client
The client side runs on the Apple ][. It handles most of the user interaction. When choosing disks/volumes to transfer, anything that ProDOS can see is fair game. Transferring data occurs with a 20k buffer on the Apple, so all transfers are broken up into 20k chunks. A progress indicator shows how far it is into the current chunk, as well as a running count of the total progress.
Enhancements:
- This release has been enhanced with Jean-Marc Boutillon (Deckard)s FASTDSK fast Disk II reading routines.
- This results in a speed boost of 25%-33% for Disk II to host transfers.
- Bootstrapping operations have been reduced, as there is no longer a dependency on ProDOS BASIC.

Super Grub Disk is a bootable floppy or CDROM that is oriented towards system rescue, specifically for repairing the booting process.

Super Grub Disk is simply a Grub Disk with a lot of useful menus. It can activate partitions, boot partitions, boot MBRs, boot your former OS (Linux or another one) by loading menu.lst from your hard disk, automatically restore Grub on your MBR, swap hard disks in the BIOS, and boot from any available disk device.

The ISO has multi-language support, and allows you to change the keyboard layout of your shell.
