wxPerl is a Perl wrapper for the awesome wxWidgets cross-platform GUI toolkit with native look and feel.

wxPerl allows the creation of applications that can run on Unices, Windows, Mac OS X with native look and feel. Whenever possible the underlying wxWidgets toolkit uses the platforms native control, emulating it when not available.

How to install?
Installation is very easy if you have a system which is running apache, php and mysql. Webframe should run under php4 and php5. Here is what to do:
1. Download the core package uncompress and upload it to your server.
2. Run the install scripts by opening your browser and following the link http://yourserver.com/upload/
3. Go through the 5 steps.
4. If the installation is complete you can log into WebFrame
5. Dont forget to remove the install directory.
Enhancements:
- In dev, some bugfixes were made in the code and menu module.
- In base, you can remove the install directory at the first login.
- The installer now tries to change config.php permissions.

PPM::Make is a Perl module that can Make a ppm package from a CPAN distribution.

This module automates somewhat some of the steps needed to make a ppm (Perl Package Manager) package from a CPAN distribution. It attempts to fill in the ABSTRACT and AUTHOR attributes of Makefile.PL, if these are not supplied, and also uses pod2html to generate a set of html documentation. It also adjusts CODEBASE of package.ppd to reflect the generated package.tar.gz or package.zip archive. Such packages are suitable both for local installation via

C:.cpanbuildpackage_src> ppm install

and for distribution via a repository.

Options can be given as some combination of key/value pairs passed to the new() constructor (described below) and those specified in a configuration file. This file can either be that given by the value of the PPM_CFG environment variable or, if not set, a file called .ppmcfg at the top-level directory (on Win32) or under HOME (on Unix). If the no_cfg argument is passed into new(), this file will be ignored.

The configuration file is of an INI type. If a section default is specified as

these values will be used as the default. Architecture-specific values may be specified within their own section:

In this case, an architecture specified as MSWin32-x86-multi-thread-5.8 within PPM::Make will have option1 = new_value1, option2 = value2, and option3 = value3, while any other architecture will have option1 = value1 and option2 = value2. Options specified within the configuration file can be overridden by passing the option into the new() method of PPM::Make.

Valid options that may be specified within the configuration file are those of PPM::Make, described below. For the program and upload options (which take hash references), the keys (make, zip, unzip, tar, gzip), or (ppd, ar, host, user, passwd), respectively, should be specified. For binary options, a value of yes|on in the configuration file will be interpreted as true, while no|off will be interpreted as false.

Wx::WidgetMaker is a CGI.pm-like library for wxPerl.

When starting to learn wxPerl, it can be frustrating trying to figure out which widgets handle what functionality. If youve ever done CGI development, you soon realize why its not a bad idea to leverage the web browser as a graphical user interface: it can be complicated to implement functionality that you take for granted as an HTML/CGI developer.

This module tries to make implementing wxPerl dialogs friendlier to a Perl CGI programmer by using an API similar to CGI.pm. (Specifically, it supports what I consider to be a useful/relevant subset of CGI.pms :standard export tags.) It tries to adhere as faithfully as reasonable to the CGI API where applicable, and otherwise to try to do something intuitive.

Every form-related method (popup_menu, textfield, etc.) requires a -name parameter. It serves the same purpose as in CGI.pm. The values the user has entered/selected on the form are accessible through $q->param(somename) where somename was given as a -name argument.

jwx! is a Java binding to the wxWidgets GUI framework. jwx! adds Java to the list of languages you can use to develop GUIs with the wxWidgets framework.
Why yet another GUI toolkit for Java?
The reason is not, as you might think, providing native GUI library for Java, but my thought of an Universal solution for developing GUI using any programming language. With its long history and proven stability, wxWidgets GUI framework having bindings to languages like Python, Perl, .NET etc., makes it most suitable for developing GUI with the language of your choice.
Why one should think about an Universal GUI development framework?
Suppose you are developing software using different programming languages individually or even under team environment, you might face a problem of creating GUI for your project. Sometimes it requires learning new GUI toolkit specific to the language. For example, if you are developing a graphics application using Java, you might use swing. In another project you are writing document processing application using Python, you might use `Tkinter`. For C++
it might be GTK, Qt, Motif, MFC...
But think of a GUI framework that you can use for developing GUI using any programing language? Learn a single GUI framework, wxWidgets, and then use this knowledge for developing GUI using your favourite progamming language!

Featherweight Linux is my Live-CD installable Linux distribution that I remastered from Feather Linux, which is built on knoppix technology. Youll find some great people over at Feather and you can find some good documentation there.
Their goal is to make a light and fast Linux with a very small footprint that can be installed on USB pen drives and such. My goal is a bit different. I want a full featured Linux that isnt bloated with a kazillion gigs of crap that Ill never use. I want a small footprint that is light and fast, even on older machines, but still carries a knockout punch.
So I took Feather and stripped out a bunch of apps that I never even thought of using. I wanted to make an easy to understand desktop that was compatible and easily configurable with the latest apps being developed, so I removed all of the window managers and installed a minimal KDE 3.3 desktop.
I included the most popular internet apps like the Mozilla Suite complete with plugins, Gaim, Gftp etc... I added full printer support and wifi support. In my test environment, it automatically detects and configures both my network printer (HP PSC 1210)and my linksys wireless card. Hopefully, itll do the same for you. It is debian based so I installed Synaptic for easy upgrading and totally FREE software management. Customizing your own system with the software that you want is only a few clicks away.
In its current state, the ISO is about 240mb and the HDD install is about 700mb, which is about 1/4 of all the other overweight distros out there. Once you install it, you can install OpenOffice and a bunch of other stuff if you need it, but I just wanted to make a good solid functional base so you can build your own system if you want.
Featherweight is intended for novice users with "some" linux experience, intermediate users, and experienced linux users alike. It has a pretty straight forward install but you should know linux and HDD partitioning basics before trying to install it.

Enhancements:
- Ive upgraded e2fsprogs and e2fslibs as well as some other critical core files.
- I updated the apt sources and added abiword and acroread, as well as the acroread mozilla plugin, and I added kppp.
- I upgraded samba and switched the quick start konqueror and kde help buttons with a mozilla button and a konsole button.
- I fixed the install script where some folks were getting a blank screen after installation and added a grub install script for easy installation of grub after the initial install.
- The total installed size is now about 800mb.
