World of Padman is a multiplayer Fun Action Shooter at Q3 Engine base.
World of Padman was a popular total conversation mod for the quake 3 engine.
Since the release of the gpled sourcecode, their team-members are worked hard to brush up the maps, models and the whole bunch of other things that belongs to a superior mod. They Invented new weapons, gaming goals on so on.
Today it is the day to proudly anounce the availibility of WoP for Linux, MacOsX and Windows, also.
The standalone game is an funshooter at its best! Come and try it for free, you have nothing to invest but your download time.
The game comes absolutly free as in beer. For details for the copyrighted graphics read at the project site http://worldofpadman.com.

Image::WorldMap 0.14
Image::WorldMap is a Perl module to create graphical world maps of data. more>>
Image::WorldMap is a Perl module to create graphical world maps of data.
SYNOPSIS
use Image::WorldMap;
my $map = Image::WorldMap->new("earth-small.png", "maian/8");
$map->add(4.91, 52.35, "Amsterdam.pm");
$map->add(-2.355399, 51.3828, "Bath.pm");
$map->add(-0.093999, 51.3627, "Croydon.pm");
$map->draw("test.png");
This module helps create graphical world maps of data, such as the Perl Monger World Map (http://www.astray.com/Bath.pm/). This module takes in a number of label locations (longitude/latitude) and outputs an image. It can attach text to the labels, and tries to make sure that labels do not overlap.
It is intended to be used to create images of information such as "where are all the Perl Monger groups?", "where in the world are all the CPAN mirrors?" and so on.
This module comes with a low-resolution image of the world. Additional larger images have not been bundled with the module due to their size, but are available at: http://www.astray.com/WorldMap/

CarWorld is a small driving simulator/demo I use to test various things of interest. It was mostly developed when I was a student. Car World is released with the full source code under the GNU General Public License.
The rendering
The two top pictures represent an slightly older version (v0.072) but graphically similar of CarWorld as it was presented for my project. v0.072 includes an OpenGL based renderer allowing
file input and displaying of texture mapped models with interpolated surface normals, real time projected shadows (as seen in the dino lights example).
background object
on screen command line to modify visual and simulation parameters
The mechanics
based on classical mechanics
uses standard metrics (Newtons, meters, seconds...)
there are no constraints on the environment surface
variable length time increments and variable increment number means "CarWorld time" is not dependent on frame rate.
adjustable simulation specs include: metrics, mass, moment of inertia around rotation axis, suspension pre load, compression damping, rebound damping, engine torque output, air friction, surface friction.

Tile World 1.2.2
Tile World is an emulator of Chips Challenge. more>>
Tile World is an emulation of the game "Chips Challenge". "Chips Challenge" was originally written for the Atari Lynx by Chuck Sommerville, and was later ported to MS Windows by Microsoft (among other ports).
Please note: Tile World is an emulation of the game engine(s) only. It does not come with the chips.dat file that contains the original level set. This file is copyrighted and cannot be freely distributed. The chips.dat file was originally part of the MS version of "Chips Challenge". If you have a copy of this version of the game, you can use that file to play the game in Tile World. If you do not have a copy of this file, however, you can still play Tile World with the many freely available level sets created by fans of the original game, including CCLP2.
"Chips Challenge" is a game made up of both intellectually engaging puzzles and situations demanding fast reflexes. As you might have guessed, it is a tile-based game. The object of each level is simply to get out -- i.e., to find and achieve the exit tile. This simple task, however, can sometimes be extremely challenging.

Xrmap 2.33
Xrmap is a program running under X that can interactively display portions of the Earth, using the huge CIA world vector map. more>>
Xrmap is a program running under X that can interactively display portions of the Earth, using the huge CIA world vector map.
The Xrmap program provides a user-friendly X client for generating images of the Earth and manipulating the CIA World data bank II global vector information (a huge geodata set of about 45 MB).
Available features include coastlines and islands, political boundaries, major and minor rivers, glaciers, lakes, canals, reefs, etc. The images can be accurately zoomed in, up to a factor of 100 or more. The package also contains a rather comprehensive data set of world cities and locations - about 20000 cities are listed.
Xrmap is derived from the rmap console only utility by Reza Naima.
However, xrmap has many more features than the original rmap, especially it implements Rectangular, Mercator and Miller projections in addition to the Spherical projection, as well as reverse search of coordinates. All parameters and configurations can be set interactively from the GUI.
Xrmap supports writing images in ppm, xpm, ps or compressed ppm.gz, xpm.gz, ps.gz formats. It can also produce images without entering into the GUI, since most parameters can alternatively be set via the command line options (still, xrmap requires the X environment to do so, in contrast with rmap).
Enhancements:
- Xrmap now directly reads vector formats EPS, SVG or bitmap formats PNG, GIF, JPG. The encapsulated PostScript format EPS is the preferred format for flags, since it is reasonably fast and provides resizable and better looking flags. Other formats are no longer needed to run xrmap, although slower machines can benefit from installing the xpm_150 flags as a fallback, since they load much faster and occupy less disk space...
- Overall handling of images improved, a memory cache is used, more explicit error messages are provided, etc.
- Option -define "picon|..." replaced by more general -define "image|..." which supports all image types recognized by xrmap.
- Bug fixes : option -define "exec|..." was fixed. Thanks to the FreeBSD port maintainer (Serge Gagnon ) for pointing out the bug. Many other small fixes.
- Uploaded version 2.5 of SVG/EPS/PNG/XPM flags, including some additions and corrections (flags of Bangladesh, Morocco, Pakistan, Sudan, United States; French, Danish, Portuguese, Spanish, US and UK territories completed)
- Support for mouse wheel buttons in emx and all xrmap functions (file explorer, scrolling lists)
- An abbreviated menu with the most common functions is now opened by default (rather than the intimidating complete menu).
- Improvement in file explorer (more numerous file types are recognized).
- Data window GUI reworked (and hopefully improved)
- Smarter exit routine (xrmap asks confirmation rather than quitting abruptly).
- New release. The binary size increased by more than 14%. Sloccount indicates more than 25,000 lines of code in total (7% increase with respect to 2.32).

Mordor MUD 6.66
Mordor MUD is a multi-user text based Internet Game Server. more>>
Mordor MUD project is a multi-user text based Internet Game Server.
Mordor is a MUD (Multi-User Dungeon), developed in ANSI C on Linux, that will run on most UNIX and Microsoft systems.
It includes source code, Linux binaries, and a large stock database for quick and easy set up on an Intel-based system.
Mordor can be divided into two large catagories: The Server and The Database.
The Server: this is the application responsible for the update of the game. It accepts users input, mixes it with the actions programmed by the database, and calculates the results. It then update the users state, as well as the state of the database.
The Database: the database can be tought of as the world in which everything on the MUD occurs. It includes all the creatures, items, rooms, and players in the game and is constently changing due to the actions of users, as well as with respect to time. The database can be divided into 4 basic parts:
Rooms: the map or layout of any Mordor database begins with rooms. This is the most fundamental unit of construction, as it can contain all other database objects. Creation of a Mordor Database (or world) begins by planning the relationship between the rooms. This is analogos to mapping out the roads, streets, buildings, etc associated with the world.
Creatures: these are the inhabitants of the world you are creating. They can be programmed to behave in a number of ways, and usually spend most of their time wandering about minding their own busniess or interacting with the players in the game.
Players: the players are created by real people that connect via the internet to the Mordor Server. The Server saves the players information as part of the database.
Items: the items are the objects in the database. They can be any real-world object that you might encounter. Common items like clothing, books, signs, armor, weapons, etc. fall into this catagory.

PDFMap 2.00
PDFMap is a Python library which helps you create of high quality maps in PDF format. more>>
PDFMap is a Python library which helps you create of high quality maps in PDF format. Objects of any type (either shapes or images) can be placed on a map and scaled and rotated to reflect their original dimensions and orientation. You can make each object clickable in Adobe Acrobat Reader (e.g., to access a Web-enabled application from which youve extracted the data used to create the map).
It serves successfully in drawing archaelogical objects on cave maps, but as the examples may show you, it can also draw things at a very high scale, e.g. an Europe or World map.
Each map can have an optional rasterized background which can be rotated automatically if it is not North oriented.
PDFMap can automatically draw objects on each map. Objects can be of any type (e.g. City, School, Archaeological objects, whatever you like), and are represented by shapes or images, scaled to the actual objects dimensions and orientation. Each object can also have an associated url which will render the object clickable in tools like Adobe Acrobat Reader (NB : the clickable area is always a rectangle of the actual objects dimensions, not of the representing shapes dimensions), the use of this feature depends entirely on your imagination : draw maps from a database and link back to a web enabled application which manipulates this database is just an example (and an interesting one at that, just
believe me).
PDFMap uses two types of input files :
Configuration files :
Those are used to tell PDFMap which shape or image should represent each type of object, as well as set different parameters for this objects type :pen thickness, colors, minimal and maximal size, etc...
Data files :
Those are used to feed PDFMap with lists of objects to draw. They are generally the result of an ASCII export from your favorite spreadsheet or relational database management system.
The tests/ subdirectory contains sample configuration and data files which are well commented. Read them and run the tests programs to learn how PDFMap works.
