ChangeWallpaper 1.3
ChangeWallpaper application has two scripts for change your background in Gnome. more>>
ChangeWallpaper application has two scripts for change your background in Gnome, from a Folder with several images or from art.gnome.org
This application is two scripts. One of them changes the wallpaper of your Gnome desktop from a Folder of your election. This script hence the necessary of wallpapers on that folder.
The second one, and for me the best, change your background with a random one selected from art.gnome.org.
For both of them you must select the softlink that its generated the first time you run it, and the add the script to you session manager, with this every time you boot your PC and log into your account you will see a new background.

Wallpaper Tray 0.5.4
Wallpaper Tray is a wallpaper utility that sits on the GNOME panel. more>>
Wallpaper Tray is a wallpaper utility that sits on the GNOME panel.
The project gives you a random wallpaper from a chosen directory at logon, on a timer, and allows you to select a new wallpaper at random from its menu.
UPDATE: I have had reports from users on Ubuntu that Wallpaper Tray is broken, something about the config dialog not appearing. It works fine on FC5. It also works on FC6. I suspect that the Ubuntu package needs rebuilding, hopefully this will happen for 0.5.3.
From here on in, I wont be touch packages, I will support the Autopackage project, which is designed to support the distribution of non core programs like mine.
he Applet lets you add directories, wallpapers are then randomly selected at login or at a given interval. You can also search your wallpaper collection, and delete wallpapers you dont like anymore.
Wallpaper Tray, as the name suggests, used to be live in the Notification Area. The Notification Area was never really meant for programs such as this, so the latest release uses the Gnome Panel. The last of 0.4.x series is still available however, for those that would rather stick with this way of working.

Wallpapoz 0.4
Wallpapoz tool enables your Gnome desktop to have different wallpapers for different workspaces or virtual desktops. more>>
Wallpapoz tool enables your Gnome desktop to have different wallpapers for different workspaces or virtual desktops. It offers quick orientation cues where you are. The other reason is to increase eye candy. In this version, it support randomization.
It means you can group your wallpapers into spesific workspaces. You can manage it so that your cartoon wallpapers will be randomize for certain times in workspace one, your nature wallpapers in workspace two, your adult wallpapers in workspace three and your Gnome wallpapers in workspace four.
There are two programs. One is the daemon that will monitor your desktop continuously. So when you change workspace or specified time has passed, the daemon wil change your desktop wallpaper.
The daemon it self reads your wallpapers list and preferation then acts according to that. The configuration file is written in xml format. Of course you can edit with any text editor but that is not convenient.
To make it easy, there is another program to edit this configuration file. Click the button, find the wallpapers that you would like to put into spesific workspace. Please see the screenshot to see how it works.
The daemon program name is daemon_wallpapoz.py. You need to add this program into Gnome start up programs list if you want every time you log into Gnome session, your Gnome desktop will have the ability to have different wallpapers for different workspaces. But first you need to make the configuration file by using program that called wallpapoz.py.

Plan 9 From User Space 20060727
Plan 9 From User Space is a port of the bulk of the Plan 9 software build environment to Unix. more>>
Plan 9 From User Space is a port of the bulk of the Plan 9 software build environment to Unix.
While the libraries make an attempt to play nice with the rest of the system (by using the Unix rules for printf verbs and Unix system headers, for example), this port tries to reproduce the Plan 9 build environment as faithfully as possible, providing u.h and libc.h, and blithely redefining tokens such as open, dup, and accept in order to provide implementations that better mimic the Plan 9 semantics.
The result is a more complicated and less Unix-friendly environment, but Plan 9 programs can typically be compiled with little or no changes.
Most obviously, plan9port derives from Plan 9 from Bell Labs and would not exist without the work of the Plan 9 team over the past many years.
Rob Pike suggested the original X11 port of libdraw years ago, as part of drawterm, and strongly encouraged the Mac OS X work. He has also been a consistent source of good ideas to hide the ugliness of modern Unix.
William Josephson handled troff(1) (with Taj Khattra) and many of the supporting programs. He also inspired the thread library clean-up and has ported a handful of applications.
Andrey Mirtchovski and Axel Belinfante have done significant work dealing with X11 corner cases and fine-tuning rio(1). Axel never tires of finding bugs in the SunOS port.
Latchesar Ionkov has contributed many fixes to tricky bugs, and got factotum(4) up and running.
Many other people have provided help, ported programs, written bug reports, sent useful patches, and gotten plan9port running on new systems.
Bigelow & Holmes, Inc. created the screen fonts in the luc, lucm, lucsans, and pelm directories and granted permission to redistribute them with plan9port.
Enhancements:
- A FUSE-related bug was fixed. See http://lists.cse.psu.edu/archives/9fans/2006-July/048531.html

Native Resolution Fix for Widescreen Monitors 1.0
Native Resolution Fix for Widescreen Monitors is a little script that changes your widescreen monitor resolution in one click. more>>
Native Resolution Fix for Widescreen Monitors is a little script that changes your widescreen monitor resolution in one click.
It couldnt get much more simpler than this little script/command. Anyhow, theres a few apps that would screw up my resolution after they exited and rather than look into it at the moment, I just googled to see if there was a quick command to execute that would change the resolution. So I found it, added that command to my KDE menu, then made a shortcut to it (ctrl + r) so I have a push-button resolution fix, which I recommend you do as its quite handy.
Anyhow, place Native Resolution Fix.desktop on your desktop but DO NOT USE it if you have a monitor with a smaller resolution. Instead, you can edit it and change the resolution to what you like and use the "-r" command to set the hertz, which will use one of the rates set in your xorg.conf.
Enhancements:
- NOTE: Please edit if your monitor doesnt support the 1680x1050 resolution in this script or do not use it.
- I am not responsible if your monitor, in a rare case, gets messed up by you using a resolution in which your monitor cant support.

sidux-highway KDM theme (widescreen) 0.1
sidux-highway is a KDM theme as a modification of the Sabayon KDM theme Open Future. more>>
sidux-highway is a KDM theme as a modification of the Sabayon KDM theme "Open Future".
The highway picture was taken and modified by me, the go.png is taken from "crystalline black" icons (kde-look.org #46349), session.png and system.png are modified nuoveXT icons (kde-look.org #26449). The small pictures inside the monitor and folder are sidux wallpapers.
Modifications:
changed wallpaper and icons and resized and repositioned the userlist slightly, added missing screenshot
The highway picture is widescreen 1920x1200. Should be easy to resize it if needed. For your convenience I also have added a 1024x768 version, just rename it if you want to use it instead of the WUXGA picture.
To use the theme untar it to /usr/share/apps/kdm/themes/ and either change your /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc manually or use kcontrol if you have the kdmtheme module.
ATTENTION: If you use a display height other than 1200 the position of the login area (that half transparent stripe) will be different from what you see in the preview. If you want to have the same position with another display height you can easily adjust it by editing the file highway.xml with your favorite text editor. Just go to line 49 and change the y-value that by default is "-485". Its an easy rule of three: lets say you have a display height of 800: 800x485/1200=323 - go and replace -485 by -323.
BTW: If you just want the wallpaper: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=52780
