Deepest Sender 0.8.0

Deepest Sender is a client that will allow you to post to blogs from directly within Firefox. more>>
Deepest Sender is a client that will allow you to post to blogs from directly within Firefox. The project is primarily a LiveJournal client, although it supports Blogger (GData) and WordPress (metaWeblog) too, with support for more stuff to come.

Note that the actual Deepest Sender website will always have the most up to date version.

If DS wont load for you in Firefox 2, and youre using a non-US English version (ie. British English or whatever), you will need to download a spellcheck dictionary in order for it to work. Non US English builds dont come with dictionaries.

If DS keeps loading in Russian and youre running SeaMonkey, check the LiveJournal group, it has a guide to solving the problem.

Ice Hockey Manager 0.3

Ice Hockey Manager 0.3

Ice Hockey Manager is a hockey simulator. more>>
Ice Hockey Manager is a hockey simulator which has the ultimate goal of creating a game that offers the most realistic simulation experience possible. Our focus is more on substance than style.
While we want the game to be intuitive, we arent looking to compete with the flashy 3D graphics you might see in games from EA or Sega. Theyve pretty much cornered the market when it comes to pretty graphics.
Were more interested in games that challenge your mind and not your hand-eye coordination. We plan to take hockey simulators (and perhaps sports simulators in general) to places theyve never gone before, The way we see it, the possibilities are limitless, much like real life hockey.
While IHM may not have photorealistic facial features for every player model in the NHL we do strive to create a game that really does make you feel like you are at the helm of your own hockey franchise.
We first started developing IHM in late 2001 and the development team consisted of two members, Bernhard von Gunten and Arik Dasen. The first real release of the game was version 0.1.1 in January of 2002. The game was playable but still very basic, more intended as a framework for future development. In July of 2002, version 0.1.2 was released with many updates to the game but after this release the project essentially went on hiatus until September/October of 2004.
Up until that time the project hadnt garnered much interest from the open source community, either the project was too localized to Swiss-style hockey or it perhaps just didnt get the exposure needed to get people to jump onboard, whatever the reason, IHM seemed to be more of a labor of love than a project that perpetuated itself. Fortunately, in October 2004, development kicked back into gear and all sorts of new and exciting features started to take shape. Some of these features include computer AI, multiplayer-support, trading/transfers, sponsoring/finances, full season/playoffs simulation, etc.
And the IHM team is currently working towards version 0.3, which has been dubbed a "Preview Release" to demonstrate a fully-operational playable game. Will this Preview Release set any kind of standard as far as hockey simulators are concerned? No, not yet. In fact, many elements within the game are still rather simplified, such as in-game simulation (which will begin development post-0.2), but we hope the Preview Release will compel other open source developers to help out with the project as there is still a lot to be done before IHM can be considered a complete game.
This website is intended to both introduce you to the game as well as to encourage you to participate and/or contribute to this project in some way. Whether you are a Java developer, a graphic artist, a beta tester, or something else entirely, we want to hear from you. IHM cant build itself, and while we have invested many hours into the games development we still have our limitations as to what we can achieve, both in time and resources. So if you think you can help out in some way, please let us know. Ideally, you should be a fan of hockey, but thats about the only prerequisite.
Main features:
- Game controller, based on a game calendar.
- Multiuser framework
- League framework (Swiss style leagues implemented, including playoffs and relegations).
- Teams, with statistics and informations.
- Players with attributes, statistics, contracts and informations.
- Simulated matches with generated plays and "radio" output.
- Training
- Injuries
- Contracts framework
- Sponsoring framework, based on contracts
- Financial framework
- Real Impacts (on teams & players)
- Transfers (Swiss style)
- Infrastructure framework (Arena implemented)
- Prospects
- Assistants
- and more ...
Technical stuff:
- Written in 100% pure Java
- Running under Linux and Windows and every other Java 1.5 platform
- Swing GUI
- More than 200 java classes
- More than 30000 lines of code

HotSaNIC 0.5.0

HotSaNIC 0.5.0

HotSaNIC is a Web-based information center for Unix-based systems. more>>
HotSaNIC (the acronym stands for "html overview to system and network information center") consists of a set of perl-scripts built on Tobias Oetikers "rrdtool" to generate graphical system-statistics, currently supported platforms are linux (main development) and *BSD.

I started to build this tool in december 2000, because none of the existing stats-tools gave me the flexibility and resolution i expected. Most tools had a minimum query-time of one minute, while i use a 10sec. timebase, which shows a lot more dynamics in the graphs.

The whole project is built in a modular way to make it quite easy to expand, unused modules may be switched off easily.

Another advantage over most existing tools is the min/max-area that is drawn behind the average-graphs in many modules - a feature that reflects e.g. min/max bandwidth usage in much more detail than similar tools do.

The smallest time span that will be displayed covers the last hour, the longest span diagram covers the last year though all data will be kept for about two years (in order to have the chance to look further back in time and compare).

Currently supported data-sources are traffic (local and via SNMP), systems properties like processes/memory/users/loadavg, hdd usage, hdd throughput, ping-times, lm_sensors, #of running copies of given applications, distributed.net statistics, worm-impacts (by analyzing apache-logfiles), APC-USV statistics (load/temperature/charge..), connections to shoutcast streams.

More modules are to come on users requests and ideas. I recently started adding some tools for debugging and to generate alarm-reports (for example if a given threshold is exceeded) which may be mailed to the systems admins.

Kmail POP filter with antispam/scoring 0.5.1

Kmail POP filter with antispam/scoring contains improvements for KMAIL POP filters. more>>
Kmail POP filter with antispam/scoring contains improvements for KMAIL POP filters.

Read the content of file README for the use information and for applying the patch.

Filter rules with action with one score value (only for kde-3.5.x)

- The porting for the other versions will come make only from request.
- This is useful to set up one action on a message from match the more filter rules (as an example, a rule on XP, rolex and another on best, price, and ....)
- The action is set up when the sum of score value is at least 100%.

For kde 3.x

- Highlight of the e-mail marked for the download or the delete.
- Tool-tips on the text that exceeds the dimension of the columns.

- Ordering also for type action.
- Set action to delete of the messages that have one type of action or they are old at least X of days.

- A single key press (key D, E, L, Up, Down) for every message (stop of, watches, selection, watches, sets up, for every message).

- Use of one single list view for all the various types of match message-filters.
- Adding for every message the visualization of the name of filter that is matched with the message.
- Possibility of, easy and quickly, to see only the messages that they correspond to one action.

- Filter from to the header of the body of the message (therefore it is possible to filter for the name of the file attached).
- Filter from initial rows of the body of the message.
- The user can specify the minimal and maximum number of rows of the body of the message to download (the number of rows comes calculated in proportion to the dimension of the message) .

Salvation Focus 0.99

Salvation Focus is a web application that allows you to focus your prayer on individuals who have not yet come to know Jesus. more>>
Salvation Focus project is a web application that allows you to focus your prayer on individuals who have not yet come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.

The intent is to cycle through a list of prebelievers, as we like to call them, and pray for each one for as long as you feel led to pray.

Salvation Focus makes administration simple and allows you to keep track of the information of the people who submitted the prebelievers name for prayer. In this way, we hope that the list does not get filled up with people we have lost contact with or those we had little information for to begin with.

Epona 1.5 RC1

Epona 1.5 RC1

Epona is a set of services for IRC networks that allows users to manage their nicks and channels in a secure and efficient way more>>
Epona is a set of services for IRC networks that allows users to manage their nicks and channels in a secure and efficient way, and administrators to manage their network with powerful tools.
Currently available services are:
NickServ : a powerful nickname manager that users can use to protect themselves against nick stealing. Each user has his own nickname group, that allows him to register as many nicks as he needs while still being able to take profit of his privileges and to modify his nick configuration.
ChanServ : a powerful channel manager that helps users to administer their channels in a totally customizable way. ChanServ has an internal list of privilegied users and banned users and controls accesses on a per-channel basis. It eliminates all takeover problems, because of its powerful op/unban/invite and even mass deop and mass kick functions.
MemoServ : an helpful tool that allows sending short messages to offline users, that they can then read later when they come online.
BotServ : an original service that allows users to get a permanent, friendly bot on their channels in an easy way. Each bot can be configured to monitor the channels against floods, repetitions, caps writing, swear, and take appropriate actions. It also can handle user-friendly commands (!op, !voice, !kick, etc.).
OperServ : the IRCops and IRC admins black box, that allows them to manage the list of network bans (also known as AKILL (DALnet) or GLINE (Unreal)), to configure messages displayed to users when they log on, to set modes and to kick users from any channel, to send notices quickly to the entire network, and much more!
Epona works with :
DreamForge : 4.6.7
Bahamut : 1.4.36 and later, including 1.8
UnrealIRCd : 3.2
UltimateIRCd : 2.8.x
Enhancements:
- Support for MySQL databases has been added.

GNU Trueprint 5.3

GNU Trueprint 5.3

GNU Trueprint is a project which allows you to print source code. more>>
GNU Trueprint is a project which allows you to print source code.
Trueprint is a program for printing source code in a variety of languages (C is the best supported) and other text files to postscript printers.
It supports a wealth of options to support printing source code, such as diff-marking, line numbers, indentation levels, file and function indices, and many others.
The simplest way to compile this package is:
1. `cd to the directory containing the packages source code and type `./configure to configure the package for your system. If youre using `csh on an old version of System V, you might need to type `sh ./configure instead to prevent `csh from trying to execute `configure itself.
Running `configure takes awhile. While running, it prints some messages telling which features it is checking for.
2. Type `make to compile the package.
3. Optionally, type `make check to run any self-tests that come with the package.
4. Type `make install to install the programs and any data files and documentation.
Enhancements:
- Trueprint now uses autoconf and automake (Paul Smith, and the book GNU Autoconf, Automake and Libtool by Gary V. Vaughan et al, published by New Riders).
- Mention of trueprint.uu removed from README (Othmar Pasteka).
- Suffix .pike added for pike programs (Othmar Pasteka).
- Added include of sys/types.h before sys/stat.h to support FreeBSD (Dmitry Sivachenko).
- README.mswin removed (John Morey).
- If there isnt an lp or lpr command on your system when you run configure, trueprint will now be built to send postscript output to stdout by default (Othmar Pasteka).
- Choice options like --landscape and --option were broken due to a serious bug in options.c (Paul Smith).
- Added Canon LBP 3260 (Bjorn Wingman).
- Added HP Laserjet 1100 (Peter Green).

KWiFiManager 3.5.3

KWiFiManager 3.5.3

With the application KWiFiManager you can configure and monitor your wireless LAN PC-Cards under Linux/KDE. more>>
With the application KWiFiManager you can configure and monitor your wireless LAN PC-Cards under Linux/KDE. The application is made for KDE version 3.x only.
The simplest way to compile this package is:
1. `cd to the directory containing the packages source code and type `./configure to configure the package for your system. If youre using `csh on an old version of System V, you might need to type `sh ./configure instead to prevent `csh from trying to execute`configure itself.
Running `configure takes a while. While running, it prints some messages telling which features it is checking for.
2. Type `make to compile the package.
3. Optionally, type `make check to run any self-tests that come with the package.
4. Type `make install to install the programs and any data files and documentation.
5. You can remove the program binaries and object files from the source code directory by typing `make clean. To also remove the files that `configure created (so you can compile the package for a different kind of computer), type `make distclean. There is also a `make maintainer-clean target, but that is intended mainly for the packages developers. If you use it, you may have to get all sorts of other programs in order to regenerate files that came with the distribution.
Main features:
- The "Scan for networks..." button now allows you to switch to the networks it has discovered. This works even for WEP encrypted networks, you can enter the WEP key in the results window
- The system tray icon is now transparent so that it fits nicely into arbitrary kicker skins. It has also been brushed up a little so that the numbers should never be so large that they obscure parts of the icon or become unreadable.
- A tooltip that tells the currently connected SSID has been added to the system tray icon
- The control center module attempts to auto-detect if you entered a hexadecimal or string key
- Interface selection is now done per config, not globally in order to support more than one interface. It defaults to auto-detection to make things easier if only one interface is present

Bio::Tree::DistanceFactory is a Perl module to construct a tree using distance based methods. more>>
Bio::Tree::DistanceFactory is a Perl module to construct a tree using distance based methods.

SYNOPSIS

use Bio::Tree::DistanceFactory;
use Bio::AlignIO;
use Bio::Align::DNAStatistics;
my $tfactory = Bio::Tree::DistanceFactory->new(-method => "NJ");
my $stats = Bio::Align::DNAStatistics->new();

my $alnin = Bio::AlignIO->new(-format => clustalw,
-file => file.aln);
my $aln = $alnin->next_aln;
# Of course matrix can come from a different place
# like PHYLIP if you prefer, Bio::Matrix::IO should be able
# to parse many things
my $jcmatrix = $stats->distance(-align => $aln,
-method => Jukes-Cantor);
my $tree = $tfactory->make_tree($jcmatrix);

This is a factory which will construct a phylogenetic tree based on the pairwise sequence distances for a set of sequences. Currently UPGMA (Sokal and Michener 1958) and NJ (Saitou and Nei 1987) tree construction methods are implemented.
