Flock of Birds Library 1.0.2

Flock of Birds Library 1.0.2

Flock of Birds Library (libfob) provides an interface to the Flock of Birds hardware. more>>
Flock of Birds Library (libfob) provides an interface to the Flock of Birds hardware. Tedious and error prone tasks such as configuring the flocks data mode, sending commands to the flock, and decoding the data received from the flock are all hidden behind libfobs interface.
Programming the flock hardware can be hard. The programmer has to worry about in which format the flock returns data (pos/quat, quat, mat, pos, angles, pos/angles, etc.) Configuring the flock is error prone and hard to get correct. For older version of the Flock of Birds hardware, simply starting the flock can be a chore.
In contrast, libfob has been designed to be easy to use. The programmer simply tells the library the following:
- Serial port the flock is attached to (ex: "/dev/ttyS0").
- Hemisphere the flock should operate in (ex: "DOWN").
- Maximum speed the flock can operate ("FAST" for newer flock hardware "SLOW" for older hardware).
The programmer can then configure the flock on a per bird basis. Any combination of the following information can be retrieved from a bird in the flock:
- Position
- Orientation
- Buttons
At any time, the programmer can retrieve the above information in any of the following formats:
- Quaternion (represents orientation)
- Vector (represent position)
- 4x4 Matrix (represents position/orientation)
The programmer pays no penalty for retrieving data in one format over another. Internally libfob configures the flocks hardware to send data as fast as possible. libfob maintains multiple representations of the data for fast retrieval by the programmer.
libfob also provides facilities to correct orientation information for incorrectly installed bird sensors.

Enable smart wake ups with wake_up_info() 0.5

Enable smart wake ups with wake_up_info() 0.5

This introduces a new wake up function wake_up_info() that enables the caller to pass additional information to the woke up tasks. more>>

Enable smart wake ups with wake_up_info() 0.5 is very useful for it is designed with the function of smart wake ups.

The current (2.6.0) Linux kernel does not allow the task that wakes up a wait queue, to pass information about the cause of the wake up and this forces the freshly wake up tasks to perform additional steps to query such information.

This is time consuming and not efficient. This patch introduces a new wake up function wake_up_info() that enables the caller to pass additional information to the woke up tasks. The information is passed to the callback function registered inside the wait structure.

NoFuss Sales Tracker is a quote generation and tracking system designed for the general IT retailer. more>>
NoFuss Sales Tracker is a quote generation and tracking system designed for the general IT retailer.

NoFuss Sales Tracker project can create quotes from an internal price list using drop-down menus and pre-setup machine recipes.

The end product will keep information regarding clients in a database, be able to generate quotes on the fly, generate invoices from quotes, etc.

NoFuss Solutions provides expert IT services to the local community using experience in a variety of computer systems. We support both hardware and software and strive to provide a one-stop service to our customers. Our main target is the home user or small business owner that can not afford dedicated IT personnel but needs the services of a dedicated IT support office.

Apart from the general IT support services (repairs and maintenance) we also offer custom software development utilising the JAVA programming language. NoFuss Invoicing is a free invoicing solution for small businesses and we are currently working on a free point-of-sale application for the same market.

NoFuss Solutions came into existence during 1996 as Horn Labs and along with a shift in focus the beginning of 2005 the name changed to symbolise the new vision and direction of the business. The main aim of NoFuss Solutions shifted from providing services to corporate companies to providing the same services to smaller businesses, especially start-up companies. After restructuring the cost-structure we managed to focus on this relative low-income market and build a stable business on a very unstable market.

At the head of NoFuss Solutions is Ewald Horn, sole proprietor since 1996. Instead of trying to do everything in-house we have identified areas where we can out-source certain functions in order to provide a higher level of service to our customers. This enables us to focus on our strengths while still providing an all-round service to our customers.

avelsieve 1.9.7

avelsieve 1.9.7

avelsieve is a Squirrelmail plugin for creating SIEVE scripts on a SIEVE-compliant mail server. more>>
Avelsieve or, verbosely, "SIEVE Mail Filters Plugin for Squirrelmail" is a Squirrelmail plugin for creating SIEVE scripts on a Cyrus IMAP server that runs timsieved (Tims SIEVE daemon).
Avelsieve will also be a part of Cyrusmaster, a web-based Cyrus administration tool. avelsieve project should provide the same interface of the users filters to administrators and/or helpdesk staff.
SIEVE is a mail filtering language, intended for server-side filtering of emails. See RFC 3028 and Cyrusofts page about SIEVE for more details.
The web interface provides a wizard-like interface that, in the end, creates part of a SIEVE script, a so called rule. It then assembles all the rules to form a SIEVE script.
For the sake of user-friendliness, it provides only a subset of SIEVEs functionality; the main goal was to provide a simple interface for Joe User to create server-side filters without knowing anything about the language itself.
The plugin does not provide a parser; instead, it saves PHP meta-data in the script itself, in order to continue editing and manipulation of the filters. The only thing that is supported is a script called "phpscript" on the Cyrus server. Multiple scripts are not supported yet. Ive tried to make it sane enough that it wont break a lot. Some more testing is needed - hence the beta status.
Main features:
- Simple HTML interface.
- Javascript functionality that enhances the user interaction, however there is HTML-only fallback for accessibility.
- Match messages based on email headers, size, or apply to all messages.
- Configurable number of header matches.
- Support of keeping a message, move to an existing or new folder, email redirection.
- Supports SIEVE Vacation.
- Supports SIEVE Notification action.
- Create a rule on-the-fly, while reading a message in Squirrelmail. This function will auto-detect List-Id: headers for mailing lists.
- Runs through all the rules, but supports a stop command when a rule matches.
- Change the order of rules - or delete them altogether.
- Enable / Disable rules on the fly, without deleting them.
- Make a textual description of the rule.
- Localizable.
- Automatic adaption to the capabilities of each sites SIEVE.
Enhancements:
- This release contains many important bugfixes and also adds the STARTTLS option for the ManageSieve protocol.

HTML::Parser 3.54

HTML::Parser 3.54

HTML::Parser is a HTML parser class. more>>
HTML::Parser is a HTML parser class. Objects of the HTML::Parser class will recognize markup and separate it from plain text (alias data content) in HTML documents. As different kinds of markup and text are recognized, the corresponding event handlers are invoked.
HTML::Parser is not a generic SGML parser.

We have tried to make it able to deal with the HTML that is actually "out there", and it normally parses as closely as possible to the way the popular web browsers do it instead of strictly following one of the many HTML specifications from W3C. Where there is disagreement, there is often an option that you can enable to get the official behaviour.

The document to be parsed may be supplied in arbitrary chunks. This makes on-the-fly parsing as documents are received from the network possible.
If event driven parsing does not feel right for your application, you might want to use HTML::PullParser. This is an HTML::Parser subclass that allows a more conventional program structure.

SYNOPSIS:

use HTML::Parser ();

# Create parser object
$p = HTML::Parser->new( api_version => 3,
start_h => [&start, "tagname, attr"],
end_h => [&end, "tagname"],
marked_sections => 1,
);

# Parse document text chunk by chunk
$p->parse($chunk1);
$p->parse($chunk2);
#...
$p->eof; # signal end of document

# Parse directly from file
$p->parse_file("foo.html");

blueMarine 0.9.RC1

blueMarine 0.9.RC1

blueMarine project is about an open source workflow for digital photography. more>>
blueMarine project is about an open source workflow for digital photography.

What does it mean?

Start thinking of an opensource application like Aperture or Lightroom that enables you to organize, develop, print and publish your photos. Pretty standard stuff nowadays. Opensource, at first sight, means that the application is free. Now think of an application written with the Java™ language: the application runs everywhere, Mac OS X, Linux, Windows. Now think of a community of people that adds code, plugins, crazy ideas, integrating some of the latest, cool technologies around, such as GPS positioning or geo-mapping.

Well, this is just the core concept of the blueMarine project.

Lets go on and lets think of the workflow. For the existing commercial applications the workflow starts just after shooting the photo and ends with a print on paper, the photo archived and maybe a web gallery published.

Just for a starter, we could do these things in innovative ways. For instance, trip reports could take advantage of GPS positioning data and Google Maps. Galleries could be presented in form of a virtual 3d gallery with walls and pictures hang on them.

Thinking of it twice, there are holes in workflows supported by current commercial applications. For instance, if you want to filter your images with a sophisticated noise reduction algorithm or if you want to create a bigger composite photo out of several shots, you likely have to use an external application. Some communities, such as amateur astrophotographers, need some very special processing that is usually performed by means of specific software. Wouldnt be better to have all of these facilities integrated in a single front end?

Now, lets broaden our workflow horizon. It can extend well beyond the print or the archival. For instance, an ornithologist usually manages field notes about the bird observed and photographed: directly binding them to photos and maybe GPS positioning data is much better than keeping a separate Excel sheet. It can also start much before shooting the photo. Think of trip planning: maybe you travel to nice places and spot interesting subjects, but not all the conditions are favorable: the weather, the light, the sun position, or the season (snow, blossomed flowers, foliage colors). Maybe you take some photos but at home you decide: hey, Im going to return there next Fall when the trees are reddish. Wouldnt be cool if a software application could allow you to easily manage all of these wanna-shoot-again photos, maybe providing assistance to guess which will be the sun position in a certain day and hour and integrating weather forecasts? And synthetising a trip program that can be uploaded on your palm gear?

Theres a further point with opensource photo workflow. Its related to the world of camera raw formats, that is the way professional DSLR cameras work. They provide you with the raw bits from the sensor that need to be extensively cooked, or developed, for getting a good image. This approach gives a tremendous amount of control to the photographers - too bad that most formats are proprietary and not documented. blueMarine supports the OpenRAW initiative and provide an opensource implementation of developing tools for camera raw formats from an ever increasing number of vendors.

Well, all of this and more is the aim of the blueMarine project.

Zfone Beta2

Zfone Beta2

Zfone uses a new protocol called ZRTP, which is better than the other approaches to secure VoIP. more>>
Zfone uses a new protocol called ZRTP, which is better than the other approaches to secure VoIP, because it achieves security without reliance on a PKI, key certification, trust models, certificate authorities, or key management complexity that bedevils the email encryption world.

Zfone also does not rely on SIP signaling for the key management, and in fact does not rely on any servers at all. It performs its key agreements and key management in a purely peer-to-peer manner over the RTP packet stream. It interoperates with any standard SIP phone, but naturally only encrypts the call if you are calling another ZRTP client. This new protocol has been submitted to the IETF as a proposal for a public standard, to enable interoperability of SIP endpoints from different vendors.

In the future, the ZRTP protocol will be integrated into standalone secure VoIP clients, but today we have a software product that lets you turn your existing VoIP client into a secure phone.

The current Zfone software runs in the Internet Protocol stack on any Windows XP, Mac OS X, or Linux PC, and intercepts and filters all the VoIP packets as they go in and out of the machine, and secures the call on the fly. You can use a variety of different software VoIP clients to make a VoIP call.

The Zfone software detects when the call starts, and initiates a cryptographic key agreement between the two parties, and then proceeds to encrypt and decrypt the voice packets on the fly. It has its own little separate GUI, telling the user if the call is secure. Its as if Zfone were a "bump on the cord", sitting between the VoIP client and the Internet. Think of it as a software bump-on-the-cord. Maybe a bump in the protocol stack.

There is also a ZRTP SDK for VoIP client developers to integrate this protocol into their VoIP clients, for both software and hardware VoIP clients. The software is implemented in C.
