Variations on Rockdodger (VoR) is a quick little game where you guide a space-ship through an asteroid field.
Note: This is a fairly hard game, intended to be a quickie game for when you want to kill a few spare minutes. For reference, my best time [Josh Grams] is about 2 minutes in version 0.3. Im not generally very good at video games, but I have been playing this one for quite a while now. However, you can make it substantially easier by slowing the game down. New in version 0.3, we have a command-line option --game-speed=N%. New players may like to try it at 0.75 or even 0.66.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes some rounding bugs which caused crashes on x86
- changes to a ray-traced font
- tweaks the engines and explosions.

Petals on a Rose 1.0

Petals on a Rose 1.0

Petals on a Rose is an intriguing puzzle game for all ages. more>>
Petals on a Rose is an intriguing puzzle game for all ages. This website claims that Bill Gates was stumped by it for two days. Its usually played with a group of friends and a set of 5 dice. The game master rolls the dice and tells everyone the answer. This computer version of the puzzle works similarly, only in this case the computer plays as the game master.

To play you just double click the icon to start the program. Type your guess in the "Answer" field and press "Check". If your guess is correct you get congratulated, otherwise you need to try again. If you get tired of guessing you can press the "Give Up" button and youll get the answer to that particular roll.

Just press the "Roll Dice" button at any time to get a new set of numbers.

Always remember, dont tell the answer to anyone!

Have fun, and good luck.

Wake On LAN proxy 0.5

Wake On LAN proxy 0.5

Wake On LAN proxy allows machines behind a gateway/firewall to be woken up. more>>
Wake On LAN proxy allows machines behind a gateway/firewall to be woken up. You have a constant connection to the Internet, but you are away from base. All machines except the gateway are powered off while you are away. Remotely you decide you want to access one of your machines. You need to power it up first. For machines with suitable NICs there is the Wake On LAN mechanism. But this doesnt work over the Internet because you would have to route a packet to your internal network. The firewall stops you from doing that, for good reasons. Even if you were able to route a packet, you wouldnt want this information to travel in the clear, otherwise other people who intercept your packets could learn how to turn on your machines remotely too. So you need some kind of authentication and privacy.

Enter Wake On LAN proxy. This runs on your gateway, or on some other machine on the network thats always on, and can be reached from the Internet by port forwarding. You can send a command to it to wake a particular machine and it broadcasts a suitable packet on the internal network.

Domino on Acid project is a weird colorful solitaire variant of dominoes that visualizes natural deduction.

Superficially, Dominoes on Acid is a solitaire variant of Dominoes with weird colorful tiles (and this view is enough to play the game).

But on a deeper level it is a GUI for natural deduction.

Every completed domino is equivalent to a proof of a tautology in classical propositional logic.

The game can be played online as an applet or offline as an application.

It is built on a simple isometric engine that can be used independent of the game.

Enterprise Sign On Engine 0.3

Enterprise Sign On Engine 0.3

Enterprise Sign On Engine is an advanced system which allows an enterprise to meet its individual goals... more>>
Enterprise Sign On Engine (ESOE) is an advanced system which allows an enterprise to meet its individual goals for integrated identity management, federation, single sign on, authorization and accountability for resource access in a very extensible manner.
The ESOE is built using the OASIS SAML 2.0 specification, and the ESOEs powerful authorization engine is built around a reduced version of the OASIS XACML 2.0 standard which we have called Lightweight eXtensible Authorization Control Markup Language or "LXACML".
The ESOE can integrate identity from unlimited repositories, automatically create sessions for users whom are logged into Active Directory (true single sign on), provide for centralized authorization policy management and natively federate with technologies such as Shibboleth and OpenID.
We hope youll find the ESOE a good choice for your needs amongst the wide variety of SSO solutions that are available, both from commercial providers and other open source projects. Of course if youre already using an SSO solution, there is a pretty good chance the ESOE can interact with it, allowing you to use the enhanced capabilities of the ESOE without needing to replace everything you already have.
Being heavily standards based, all your existing identity infrastructure such as LDAP compliant directories, databases and even flat files are only a plugin away. The ESOE is designed to fit around your environment, not have your environment change to fit it.
Were calling the current release an Alpha and some of the service providers, tools and documentation are still coming up to full completion. Nonetheless, we hope youll have a look around at what the ESOE can do for your enterprise and contribute back anything you can to help us build a strong community of users for the future.
Enhancements:
- Many bugfixes have gone into this release specifically relating to MySQL deployments.
- New features for this release are integrators for Confluence, Jira, and Blackboard.

Set::Partition is a Perl module that can enumerate all arrangements of a set in fixed subsets.

SYNOPSIS

use Set::Partition;

my $s = Set::Partition->new(
list => [qw(a b c d e)],
partition => [2, 3],
);
while (my $p = $s->next) {
print join( , map { "(@$_)" } @$p ), $/;
}
# produces
(a b) (c d e)
(a c) (b d e)
(a d) (b c e)
(a e) (b c d)
(b c) (a d e)
(b d) (a c e)
(b e) (a c d)
(c d) (a b e)
(c e) (a b d)
(d e) (a b c)

# or with a hash
my $s = Set::Partition->new(
list => { b => bat, c => cat, d => dog },
partition => [2, 1],
);
while (my $p = $s->next) {
...
}

Set::Partition takes a list or hash of elements and a list numbers that represent the sizes of the partitions into which the list of elements should be arranged.
The resulting object can then be used as an iterator which returns a reference to an array of lists, that represents the original list arranged according to the given partitioning. All possible arrangements are returned, and the object returns undef when the entire combination space has been exhausted.

Image Repository provides a centralized image repository capable of holding thousands of images with keyword/tag-based browsing.
Image Repository is a centralized image repository capable of holding thousands of images with keyword/tag-based browsing and filtering.
Main features:
- Its goal is to provide you with an easy way to have a centralized image library with thousands of images categorized by keywords, dates, etc.
- It has special handling that lets you browse the keyword space like it was a collection of nested folders. Example: Browse to keyword "Carnivores", you will get the available keywords "Cats", "Dogs", and the selection will narrow down, applying all the keywords you have selected on your path through the keyword space.
- It comes complete with a Kupu "library", meaning you can browse the keywords through the Kupu image insertion dialog to make it easy to locate images even in a large collection of images.
- It has a tagging interface that lets you tag images with a thumbnail like view, and apply keywords to multiple images at once.
- It uses whatever image type you have installed (it does need to be added as an addable type and be able to supply thumbnails like the default Plone image type, though).
Enhancements:
- Added action to register the repository in Kupu. [fschulze]
- Using interfaces, views and adapters in various places to make this more flexible. [fschulze]
- Removed unused code. [fschulze]

Play What I Mean 0.09

Play What I Mean 0.09

Play What I Mean plays media files on a local machine based on a given set of terms found within the filenames. more>>
Play What I Mean project allows a user to, from a single commandline or terminal, enter a string, or list of strings, that represent what he/she wishes to have played by whatsoever media player he chooses, the default being MPlayer, and then having that particular item be found and played.
What this essentially means is that if I were to have a sudden hankering to listen to a particular song or video, lets say Ice Pick by The Pillows, which happens to be the song to a particular music video that I enjoy watching. Under the traditional methods of video viewing I would be stuck with two potential courses of action for playing this particular file:
- Change directories several times to that one folder somewhere that I "know" its in, or
- Point and Click my mouse until I find that same directory and then search through what could be countless files to find it.
Each of these prospective choices have their own inherent difficulties and ire. Using the commandline often requires alot of typing to arrive at the desired directory, often times nestled deep within the tree.
Once there your problems only multiply by the number of files you actually store in your "media" folder, try ls | moreing through a heavily populated folder looking for the name of that file you wanted to play sometime, it isnt too fun and further is a waste of my valuable time.
You may be thinking at this point that the second option, the graphical one, must be easier since its exciting, full of pictures, and frankly novel, I disagree. I may not be the best judge on this matter, seeing as how I cant see out of my right eye however, I feel that scanning through a large folder, or folders, full of files is quite a strain on the vision, and more importantly an unnescesary burden on what should be a simple matter.
Main features:
- Nestable Playlist support
- Multi-string arguments
- Transparent command option passing
- Cache for faster access of frequently played files
- Graphical configure
