LineControl allows you to remotely control the Internet connection of a Linux masquerading server using multiple clients. more>>
LineControl allows you to remotely control the Internet connection of a Linux masquerading server using multiple clients. It takes care with the number of clients using the connection and decides upon this number whether the connection should be up or down.
The clients show the time the connection is up and throughput statistics. Different connection types are supported, such as analog modems, ISDN, or even cable modems and ADSL devices.
Main features:
- user accounting using Linux-PAM or passwd/shadow file
- controlling multiple lines
- throughput measuring
- logging & analizing (view example)
- logging to a MySQL database (view example)
- html formatted status report via webserver (view example)
- different line types (analog, isdn, adsl, ... it should be possible to run LC with any line!)
- pinger (to avoid line-drops)
- reporting data (time, nr, ...) about incoming isdn calls to the clients (inclusive addressbook lookup)
- client dependant modifications of the NAT servers firewall (using an external script whenever a client goes on- or offline)

SEOlizer 0.2
SEOlizer is a GPL application that generates web pages of analysis, from webserver log files (Apache, etc). more>>
SEOlizer is a GPL application that generates web pages of analysis, from webserver log files (Apache, etc). The seolizer is based on the webalizer code.
Please note that the code is one-night hack, from my point of view its a very very poor quality! It is not recommended to run seolizer on a production server. I have published the seolizer to get some feedback from SEO community. Stable version will be available in several months, after I make clear decision how to implement all required features. Your feedback is appreciated !
Compile seolizer by running make all -C src. Then you can run it using ./seolizer [logfile]. Output will be placed in the current directory.
SEOlizer functions
Web spiders daily/monthly crawling reports (incl. bots IP addresses)
Keyword and phrase analysis, displays pages that matched query
Most popular pages for search engine query results and relevant keywords and phrases
Fully static HTML
About SEO
Search engine optimization (SEO) as a subset of search engine marketing seeks to improve the number and quality of visitors to a web site from "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results. The quality of visitor traffic can be measured by how often a visitor using a specific keyword leads to a desired conversion action, such as making a purchase or requesting further information. In effect, SEO is marketing by appealing first to machine algorithms to increase search engine relevance and secondly to human visitors.
Enhancements:
- Pagerank support was added along with support for www.rankcheck.info.
- The code was cleaned up and better HTML was implemented.

Easy SVN Browser 1.07
Easy SVN is a subversion browser via the Web. more>>
Easy SVN is a subversion browser via the Web. Easy SVN Browser is easy because only a command line svn program and Perl are required to run it; no extra software needs to be installed. After configuring the Perl script as cgi-bin program, SVN repositories can be navigated, and entries viewed for contents, history, and diffs.
Installation:
Follow these steps for a quick installation of web-svn-view:
1. Log in as the user who is running the webserver (e.g., www).
2. As this user, make sure you have read-access on your repository. Issue an svn command to make sure that if necessary, you are prompted for a username and password. Once the viewer is running, logins must take place automatically.
3. Obtain web-svn-view by getting the archive http://public.e-tunity.com/web-svn-view/web-svn-view-latest.tar.gz . Save the archive on your disk as e.g.
/tmp/web-svn-view-latest.tar.gz.
4. Change-dir to a directory where the webserver will run the viewer.
5. Unpack, using tar xzf /tmp/web-svn-view-latest.tar.gz. Note the full paths to the contained directories cgi-bin, css and img. In the following example well assume that the base directory is /Users/e/src/e.
6. Edit cgi-bin/web-svn-view and modify the configuration variables at the top of the file. The variables are documented in the script.
7. Edit the servers configuration file. E.g, for Apache, edit httpd.conf and add the following lines:
ScriptAlias /svnbin /Users/e/src/e/web-svn-view/cgi-bin
Alias /svncss /Users/e/src/e/web-svn-view/css
Alias /svnimg /Users/e/src/e/web-svn-view/img

Order allow,deny
Allow from all
< /Location >
< Location /svncss >
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
< /Location >
< Location /svnimg >
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
< /Location >
You will need to supply the right directories for your system.
8. Restart the webserver.
9. Point your browser to http://yoursite/svnbin/web-svn-view.
Enhancements:
- The configuration settings in cgi-bin/web-svn-view can now be overridden by environment variables.
- That makes it possible to re-use the same SVN browser to view many repositories, based on environment variables passed by the Web server.
- The documentation was updated with an example.

Wapmess 0.1b
Wapmess is a system that runs on any webserver (using PHP and MySQL). more>>
Wapmess is a system that runs on any webserver (using PHP and MySQL) and enables the webserver-admin to set up a WAP-ICQ portal. This means that anyone with a mobile-phone (PDA or similar is also fine) that supports Wap 1.2 or higher can use the webserver to connect to an ICQ-account and send/receive messages via ICQ.
The goal with this project was to make it possible for almost any mobile-phone to use ICQ and be able to communicate with other users! One other goal with this project was to lower the GPRS-traffic in the phone and make the ICQ-ing cheaper. A third goal was to make this service as easy to log-in to as possible. Anyone tried to fill a log-in screen with a WAP-browser should know what I mean. With Wapmess all you have to do is to write your login-url ONCE and then bookmark it in your phone, to make it available fast.
The program supports protocol ICQ 8.0 (Tested with ICQ 2002, ICQ 2003, ICQ Lite etc.)

Siege 2.67b3
Siege is an HTTP regression testing/benchmarking utility. more>>
SIEGE is an http regression testing and benchmarking utility. It was designed to let web developers measure the performance of their code under duress, to see how it will stand up to load on the internet.
Siege project lets the user hit a webserver with a configurable number of concurrent simulated users. Those users place the webserver "under siege."
The duration of the siege is measured in transactions, the sum of simulated users and the number of times each simulated user repeats the process of hitting the server.
Thus 20 concurrent users 50 times is 1000 transactions, the length of the test.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes a major problem with socket reads on Solaris.

mod_pweb 0.2
mod_pweb is a mass virtual hosting with shared memory segment for domain to path translations. more>>
mod_pweb is a mass virtual hosting with shared memory segment for domain to path translations.
If you want to run some hundreds of virtual hosts on an apache webserver and you configure the server in the conventional way, with virtual hosts in the httpd.conf, you will qick notice, that your httpd processes gets quite big (>90M).
Now, every new connection causes this big httpd process to fork. The data segment of the process only includes configuration information that does not change, so the process does not really need this space in memory. But Solaris, other than Linux, reserves this 90M in your swapspace.
If you have a heavy loaded server with 400 processes or more, you will need a minimum of 400 times 90M swapace. The swap organisation will keep the Kernel working, but not your webserver.
The Solution
The solution for this scenario could be mod_dynvhost or mod_pweb. Mod_dynvhost provides you a directory where you simply create a folder with the name of the domain. This is easy to use, but you wont be able to do a translation from lets say www.custumerdomain.com to /webdata/customerid.
This functionality is only provided by mod_pweb. The idea behind mod_pweb is, to have the complete virtual host configuration in one shared memory segment and then have small httpd processes attaching to this segment to do the domainname to path resolution.
The Build
Download mod_pweb-0.2b.tgz and unpack it with tar -zxvf mod_pweb-0.2b.tgz. Change in the mod_pweb-0.2b directory and execute make. This will build the initshm tool.
Now locate the apxs script which is included in your webserver binary directory. Then execute /PATH_TO_YOUR_APXS/apxs -c mod_pweb.c. After this build, copy the file mod_pweb.so to your apache libexec directory.

PHPwebmail 2.3
PHPwebmail is a PHP4 based IMAP Webmail Client. more>>
PHPwebmail is a Web-based IMAP and SMTP mail client. Often it is not possible to make outside mail connections from networks behind strict firewalls, or to configure a regular mail client (for example in an Internet cafe).
With PHPwebmail a mail client only needs a WWW connection to the mailserver. Specifically it only needs a connection to the webserver hosting PHPwebmail.
Most of the times the Web and mail server will be the same machine but PHPwebmail can connect to other mailservers as well as long as an IMAP connection between these two machines is allowed.
