NCaster is content management system that features high customizability and flexibility.
Ncaster project supports limitless custom fields, relational links between articles, caching, user levels, a WYSWYG HTML editor, XML feeds, article authentication, a plugin-based scripting language, and more.

A dynamic system will just not cut it when it comes to the crunch, Ncaster uses a template caching system that is extremely fast (as low as 0.004) at storing, retrieving, and updating stored pre-rendered templates.
- Staff System: Add or remove an unlimited number of staff members (four levels: Administrator, Editor, Agent, Guest). Each staff member has his or her own user profile.
- Entity 2.0: Exclusive, versatile scripting language used in Ncaster templates. More clear and easy to use than php. Entity 2 is plugin based; new functionality can be added by just downloading new functions from the ncaster website.
- WYSIWYG html editor: Features the raw essentials for posting articles. Can be disabled or enabled at any time.
- Images: New to Ncaster is image resizing and image watermarking. You have the option to pick the transparent color, compression, and more.
- XML Feed: Generate XML feeds. This allows other webmasters to use your content; a very effective way of advertising your sites content.
- Search Engine Friendly: Some search engines do not index sites with dynamic content. Ncaster features some mod-rewrite code as well as short URLs.

What is Google Sitemaps
Google Sitemaps program allow webmasters and site owners to feed it pages theyd like to have included in Googles web index. Participation is free. Inclusion isnt guaranteed, but Googles hoping the new system will help it better gather pages than traditional crawling alone allows. Feeds also let site owners indicate how often pages change or should be revisited.
Usage
Install with Quick Installer.
Go to Google Sitemaps and add http://your.site/google-sitemaps.
Should be working without any intervention.

SNIMMER stands for Single Network Instant Messaging Mediation and Relay. SNIMMER can talk to any IM network, and can relay instant messages from one IM network to another.

Currently, one cannot use AOL messenger to chat with users on MSN, Yahoo!, or GTalk and vice-versa. SNIMMER overcomes instant messenger non-interoperability.

It has been designed primarily to help webmasters to chat with Web visitors on any IM network using any instant messenger.

What you will need:

1) Internet connection
2) IM account that you always use
3) Create a set of IM accounts for all networks (eg. AOL, ICQ, Yahoo, MSN) that you want to receive visitors from. It is essential that you create brand new accounts that were not used by you for personal chat, otherwise snimmer will clash with you online.
4) Web server where you can run a CGI script. A sample script that comes with this package is written in python but you can re-write it in your favorite language - it is very simple.
5) You neeed Python to be installed on your web server. Also you will need python-xmpp library installed too.

6) You should know how to add CGI scripts to pages and how to display results. Sample script works but youll probably want a better integration with your page.
7) You have to know what jabber servers and what jabber transports you are going to use.

You can deploy your own or you can try the ones that are publicly available. You can refer to this page to find the server for you:

In the simplest case youll need to replace example.com with the name of the server you have picked. Though it is not neccessary that transport should be on the same server. You can use transports from other servers if their policies allow that.

Java SOS is a set of configurable Java servlets for fast site building, including Forums, Chat, and Calendar servlets, etc.
Coldbeans Software* implemented next version of Servlets Office Suite (JSOS). This product is a collection of servlets and filters for Java(tm) technology "out of the box" ready for building web-pages.
What does this collection need for? You know CGI scripts. Many sites on the Net need interactive capabilities to request information from the visitors and respond them. Most of those use scripts such as Perl, PHP, etc. But this approach has some disadvantages. Namely, for each new request a new process starts on the server where the site is hosted which requires additional computing resources, slows down executing all job.
Servlets require only one process no matter how many requests are being handled. These need less resources. They are faster and 100% portable. There are great engines to run them. Here are some: JRun, ServletExec, Jserv, Tomcat etc . That is all true. But why are CGI scripts still used?
They are old good technology people got used to. There are a lot of scripts all over the Net. Unfortunately, the last does not go to servlets. Fortunately, there is JSOS.
JSOS plays the same role as a set of CGI scripts and can be used by webmasters for adding dynamic capabilities to their sites.
JSOS has got a rich set of servlets such as Message Board, Chat, File Manager, Calendar and many others. You can use them instead of CGI scripts to build your site. As a matter of fact, it is the fastest way to make a site serving for needs of some community and the easiest way for managing the site. Last version of components supports WAP/WML also.
At this moment JSOS is probably the largest Java servlets collection over the Net and continues to grow. With WAP/WML support JSOS is probably the first Java scripts set for the mobile world.
Who will use this bundle?
- J2EE compatible servers vendors. Having a rich set of components is an extra argument for their potential customers
- Internet Service Providers. Most of them currently offer free CGI scripts preinstalled for subscribers. Nobody do that for servlets. Why?

Sidebar in a Can is designed to be run as a straightforward web application, with much administrative activity performed on-web. Rather than trying to explain how to use it, I simply encourage you to explore.

Security

The present release of Sidebar in a Can has not been closely scrutinized for security, and should be treated as such by security-conscious administrators. If you examine the code and discover a vulnerability that could compromise the server, please contact the author at jshayward@pobox.com. The script is intended to have light security and not to compromise a server, but it is not intended to store credit card numbers or other sensitive information.

The default installation sets < the private sidebar data directory > and contents to mode 777. Administrators are encouraged to set directory and contents to mode 700, owned by the effective user ID that Snippets will be running under.
