Debian Font Manager 0.11.8-0.1

Debian Font Manager 0.11.8-0.1

Debian Font Manager (dfontmgr) is a GUI frontend for Defoma. more>>
Debian Font Manager (dfontmgr) is a GUI frontend for Defoma. You can see the fonts registered to Defoma, their hints, their status (which applications they have succeeded or failed to register), the applications using Defoma framework and information about the applications and the contents of their id-caches.

You can also register a font by drag-and-drop a font file, unregister a registered font, change the hints of and re-register a registered font. If a defoma-aware application uses an id-cache and if theres an identifier conflict (which means some fonts provides the same identifier) in the id-cache, you can indicate which font should provide the identifier.

GUI versions of some utilities in Defoma and psfontmgr are also installed.

namefix.pl is a Perl script which purpose is to make formatting file names of media files very easy and quick.

Initialy it was just used to convert spaces to underscores on all mp3s in a given directory, but I soon added case formatting and many other options.

As far as Im aware this was first the script/ program created for the purpose of automatically formatting media collections.

So after many lapses, drinking/ smoking binges, hard drive failures and my laziness in general, namefix.pl is back, better than ever.

Site Tools is a collection of Modules for perl that allow easy template integration, SQL forms creation, tables, sessions, and various other things that make web development a little easier to manage. Requires the SQLObject and PObject classes available on my project page. I have stopped developing these classes in favor of the Template Toolkit, it is a lot more robust and mod_perl aware, please use that instead.

To install everyhthing, follow the next instructions:

perl Makefile.PL
make
make test
make install

Basic documentation can be found through perldoc Site. It has pointers to other modules to look at.

MaraDNS 1.0.35

MaraDNS 1.0.35

MaraDNS is a fully functional DNS server. more>>
MaraDNS is a package that implements the Domain Name Service (DNS), an essential internet service.
MaraDNS is intended for environments where a DNS server must be secure and where the server must use the absolute minimum number of resources possible.
MaraDNS was created in response to issues people had with the DNS servers available in early 2001; and has the following design goals:
- Security-aware programming. A DNS server needs to be secure. I have a number of security features in the code, including:
1. The code uses a special string library which is resistant to buffer overflows.
2. The code, if started as root, mandates running as an unprivledged user in a chroot() jail.
- Open-Source. The 1.0 release of the DNS server is public-domain code; the next release will be released under a very liberal BSD-style license.
- Simplicity. This DNS server has the minimum number of features needed to correctly act as an authoritative and/or recursive name server.
Enhancements:
- The AES variant that MaraDNS uses has been hardened against some cache timing attacks that cryptographers have recently published.

cPanel::SyncUtil 0.0.2

cPanel::SyncUtil 0.0.2

cPanel::SyncUtil is a Perl extension for creating utilities that work with cpanelsync aware directories. more>>
cPanel::SyncUtil is a Perl extension for creating utilities that work with cpanelsync aware directories.

SYNOPSIS

use cPanel::SyncUtil;

These utility functions can be used to in scripts that create and work with cpanelsync environments.

EXAMPLE

See scripts/cpanelsync_build for a working example that can be used to build cPanels cPAddon Vendor cpanelsync directory for your website.

EXPORT

None by default, all functions are exportable if you wish:

use cPanel::SyncUtil qw(_raw_dir);

use cPanel::SyncUtil qw(:all);

FUNCTIONS

_chown_pwd_recursively

Takes as its first argument a user that matches ^w+$ (and optionally a group as its second argument, also matching ^w+$) and recursively chowns the current working directory to the given user (and group if given).

Currently the return value is from a system() call to chown.

_safe_cpsync_dir

Returns true if the given argument is a directory that it is safe to be cpanelsyncified.

See the simple, scripts/cpanelsync_build_dir script for example useage while recursing directories.

_raw_dir

This function makes the .tar and .bz2 version of the file system.

Its arguments are the following:

_raw_dir($base, $archive, $verbose, @files);

$base and $archive are the only required arguments.

$archive is a directory in $base.

It will chdir in $base and the process the directory $archive

If $verbose is true, output will be verbose.

If @files is specified each item in it is also processed.

Each item in @files must be a file (-f) in $base/$archive.

If it returns false the error is in $!

_raw_dir($base, $archive, $verbose, @files)
or die "_raw_dir($base, $archive, $verbose, @files) failed: $!";

Its very important to check the return value because if its failed its possible you will not be in the directory you think and then subsequent file operations will either fail or not work like you expect. Plus if its returned false then there is either a file system problem or the input to the function is not valid. In other words, if it fails you need to resolve the problem before continuing so die()ing is a good idea generally.

_sync_touchlock_pwd is then run on $base/$archive so that its now a cpanelsync directory

_get_opts_hash

Shortcut to get a hash (in array context) or hash ref (in scalar context) of the script using this modules command line options.

Takes the same exact input as Getopt::Std getopts()

_sync_touchlock_pwd

Creates the .cpanelsync file (and its .bz2 version) and .cpanelsync.lock for the current working directory

_read_dir

Shortcut to File::Slurps read_dir

_write_file

Shortcut to File::Slurps write_file

_lock

Locks the given directories.

_unlock

Unlocks the given directories.

_unlock(qw(foo bar baz));

mkCDrec Utilities 0.7.9

mkCDrec Utilities 0.7.9

mkCDrec Utilities is a rescue and recovery utilities to use with mkCdrec. more>>
The mkCDrec utilities are optional for mkCDrec itself, but are an added value for rescue and recovery purposes.

The utilities are staticly compiled and include parted, memtest, partimage, gpart, and recover. Memtest86 is also available for memory testing.

To improve the added value of your recovery/rescue CD-ROM. You will notice that links from mkCDrec CD-ROM are foreseen to the /cdrom/utilities part of the CD-ROM and that man pages of these tools are already available within mkCDrec main toolset.

Without installing the utilities you cannot use them (obvious), but it will not break any other functionality of the mkCDrec tools. Therefore, a full restore remains possible (and disk cloning too), but you will not be able to resize a partition afterwards to name something.

Most of these utilities were compiled as static binaries, therefore, you can use those tools seperately too. If you know any tool which could useful to be included, please let me know... Since mkCDrec_utils_v0.5.7 you will notice that mkCDrec will use isolinux to boot from the CD-ROM instead of using syslinux floppy boot emulation.

But, this will only work if you use mkCDrec_v0.5.7 (or higher) as isolinux was first introduced in v0.5.7.

Parted

The famous Partition Editor of GNU software. The User Manual of parted is already part of mkCDrec.

Memtest

An excellent memory testing tool.

Partition Image

A tool to make/restore partition of msdos/vfat/ext2/reiserfs file systems. The primary purpose to include this tool is to allow a restore of old partition images made by this tool.

Gpart

Guess partition does what it implies. It can even recover destroyed partition tables, and therefore, maybe preventing a full restore. Useful in case if you do not make a mkcdrec on a regular basis.

Recover

An excellent tool to edit an EXT2 file system to recover lost files.

e2salvage

e2salvage is a utility which tries to recover a data from damaged ext2 partition. It may be used when e2fsck does not recover the broken ext2 filesystem. Before trying this tool read the man page (man e2salvage).

ext2resize

ext2resize, ext2prepare and ext2online are useful tools. ext2resize can increase (or decrease) the size of an unmounted ext2 filesystem. Be aware for ext2online one need a kernel patch (not likely installed). By the way, ext2resize does work too on an Ext3 filesystem! Be aware, one needs to apply S. Tweedies kernel patch (ext3) and an updated ext2 filesystem e2fprogs-1.20 or higher (which are ext3 aware). Last 2 requirements are of course only needed in case if you want to work with ext3 filesystems.

memtest86

Memtest86 is thorough, stand alone memory test for x86 architecture computers. BIOS based memory tests are only a quick check and often miss many of the failures that are detected by Memtest86.

chntpw

The offline NT password editor (chntpw) is a little program wich enables you to view and change passwords in a Windows NT SAM user database. For example,

Installation

# cd mkcdrec; tar zxvf mkCDrec_v0.7.9_utils.tar.gz
# ls -l utilities
