HDR Visual Difference Predictor (HDR VDP) is a perceptual metric that can predict whether differences between two images. more>>
Visual difference metrics can predict whether differences between two images are visible to the human observer or not. Such metrics are used for testing either visibility of information (whether we can see important visual information) or visibility of noise (to make sure we do not see any distortions in images, e.g. due to lossy compression).
The image below shows how two input images, a reference image (upper left) and a distorted image (lower left), are processed with the VDP to produce a probability of detection map (right). Such probability of detection map tells how likely we will notice a difference between two images for each part of an image.
Red color denotes high probability, green - low probability. Red color is mostly present in the areas where there is a snow covered path. Because of smooth texture of the snow, there is not much visual masking and distortions are easily visible.
Although there are dozens of visible difference metrics that serve a similar purpose, our Visual Difference Predictor for HDR images (HDR-VDP) has two unique advantages: firstly, our metric works with a full range of luminance values that can be meet in a real word (HDR images), and secondly, we offer a complete source code for free.
High Dynamic Range Visible Difference Predictor (HDR-VDP) can work within the complete range of luminance the human eye can see. An input to our metric is a high dynamic range (HDR) image, or an ordinary 8-bits-per-color image, converted to the actual luminance values. The proposed metric takes into account the aspects of high contrast vision, like scattering of the light in the optics (OTF), nonlinear response to light for the full range of luminance, and local adaptation.

Visual REGEXP project can easily design and debug regular expressions by providing a graphical visualization of the expression and its matches on a sample of your choice.
Version restrictions:
- some regexp can consume a lot of CPU time. This seems to be caused by the use of -all, -inline and -indices flags together.
- when a subexpression is not matched (empty match), the last character of the previous match are coloured. This is due to a problem in Tcl (bug submitted to Scriptics).

cvsgdiff uses tkdiff or mgdiff to graphically display diffs between CVS revisions of a file in your sandbox. cvsgdiff is basically a graphical version of "cvs diff".
If given no arguments, cvsgdiff will launch the graphical diff program once for every modified file in the current directory.
If given one or more filenames as arguments, cvsgdiff diplays the diffs of each file. If given a revision, cvsgdiff will display the diffs between the file in your sandbox and the BASE revision in CVS. If given two revisions, cvsgdiff will display the diffs between the two revisions in CVS for the given file. The files in your sandbox are not touched.
cvsgdiff works by checking out the specified (or defaults to BASE) revision of the specified file(s) into your tmp directory and then launches a graphics diff program to display the differences.

sqlt-diff is a utility for creating a file of SQL commands necessary to transform the first schema provided to the second. While not yet exhaustive in its ability to mutate the entire schema, it will report the following
New tables
Using the Producer class of the target (second) schema, any tables missing in the first schema will be generated in their entirety (fields, constraints, indices).
Missing/altered fields
Any fields missing or altered between the two schemas will be reported as:

fldiff is a graphical diff program that shows the differences between two files/directories, or a file/directory and a CVS or Subversion repository. fldiff project is inspired by xdiff (Motif-based) and xxdiff (Qt-based), whose choice of GUI toolkit has hampered their portability to many of the systems I work with.
fldiff uses the Fast Light Toolkit (FLTK) and has been tested on AIX, IRIX, Linux, MacOS X, and Solaris, and should also run on Windows.

Perceptual Image Diff is an image comparison utility that makes use of a computational model of the human visual system to compare two images.
Its useful for running automated regression testing on images that are perceptually identical but have minor pixel noise from different random number generators or small changes to algorithms.
Build Instructions:
This project makes use of the Cross Platform Make Utility and the libtiff library. You will also need Subversion to obtain the source.
1. Edit CMakeLists.txt as necessary to point to libtiff
2. Type cmake .
3. Type make .
4. pdiff should be compiled for your target system
Usage:
pdiff image1.tif image2.tif [options]
-verbose : Turns on verbose mode
-fov deg: field of view, deg, in degrees. Usually between 10.0 to 85.0. This controls how much of the screen the oberserver is seeing. Front row of a theatre has a field of view of around 25 degrees. Back row has a field of view of around 60 degrees.
-threshold p : Sets the number of pixels, p, to reject. For example if p is 100, then the test fails if 100 or more pixels are perceptably different.
-gamma g : The gamma to use to convert to RGB linear space. Default is 2.2
-luminance l: The luminance of the display the observer is seeing. Default is 100 candela per meter squared.
Enhancements:
- Incorporated bug fix from Cairo team that fixed a memory access error
- Changed the way the program releases memory from libpng to fix linking error with new versions of libpng.

LibXDiff implements basic and yet complete functionalities to create file differences/patches to both binary and text files.
The library uses memory files as file abstraction to achieve both performance and portability. For binary files, LibXDiff implements (with some modification) the algorithm described in File System Support for Delta Compression by Joshua P. MacDonald, while for text files it follows directives described in An O(ND) Difference Algorithm and Its Variations by Eugene W. Myers.
Memory files used by the library are basically a collection of buffers that store the file content. There are two different requirements for memory files when passed to diff/patch functions. Text files for diff/patch functions require that a single line do not have to spawn across two different memory file blocks.
Binary diff/patch functions require memory files to be compact. A compact memory files is a file whose content is stored inside a single block. Functionalities inside the library are available to satisfy these rules. Using the XDL_MMF_ATOMIC memory file flag it is possible to make writes to not split the written record across different blocks, while the functions xdl_mmfile_iscompact() , xdl_mmfile_compact() and xdl_mmfile_writeallocate() are usefull to test if the file is compact and to create a compacted version of the file itself.
The text file differential output uses the raw unified output format, by omitting the file header since the result is always relative to a single compare operation (between two files). The output format of the binary patch file is proprietary (and binary) and it is basically a collection of copy and insert commands, like described inside the MacDonald paper.
The library is compatible with almost every Unix implementation (configure script) and it is also compatible with Windows through custom (nmake) make files. Examples are available inside the test subdirectory of the distribution tarball that show how to use the library.
Also, inside the same subdirectory, a regression test in available that tests the library with random data by requiring a diff followed by a patch and comparing results. Regression tests ran successfully for days on my Linux, Solaris, FreeBSD and Windows boxes, and this makes me believe that the library itself is completely ready for production (despite the version number).

- A bug in indexing on 64-bit machines was fixed.

This module provides methods for generating and applying an XML diffgram of two related XML files. The basis of the algorithm is tree-wise comparison using the DOM model as provided by XML::LibXML.
The Diffgram is well-formed XML in the XVCS namespance and supports update, insert, delete and move operations. It is meant to be human and machine readable. It uses XPath expressions for locating the nodes to operate on. See the below DIFFGRAM section for the exact syntax.
The motivation and alogrithm used by this module is discussed in MOTIVATION below.
