VerticalMeters

VerticalMeters

VerticalMeters is a simple system monitor. more>>
VerticalMeters is a simple system monitor. Two vertical bars. It fits well in the bottom right corner of the screen. Included are both a version with no branding and a version with the BSD Daemon and the new FreeBSD logo in the background.

Obviously inspired by kirambaKUBUNTU, except I wanted one that fit in the right corner, and of course not kubuntu.

Pentago 0.1

Pentago 0.1

Pentago project is a two-player abstract strategy game. more>>
Pentago project is a two-player abstract strategy game.

The game is played on a 6x6 board divided into four 3x3 sub-boards. Taking turns, each player places a marble of their color (black or white) onto an unoccupied space on the board, and then rotates one of the sub-boards by 90 degrees either clockwise or counter-clockwise.

A player wins by getting five of their marbles in a vertical, horizontal or diagonal row (either before or after the sub-board rotation in their move). If all 36 spaces on the board are occupied without a row of five being formed then the game is a draw.

The program includes an AI (Artificial Intelligence).

imetal 0.98

imetal 0.98

imetal is professionally designed as a port of the imetal OSX theme created by AndyBlac . more>>

imetal 0.98 is professionally designed as a port of the imetal OSX theme created by AndyBlac . It uses the pixbuf engine so it's a little slow, but i couldn't make an accurate port without it. Now that Azel is finaly completed and released, i managed to update imetal too ...

There is only one theme now, if you want to use global menu with it , just open the gtkrc file found inside the theme folder and change the line (it's near the end) : include "Tweaks/tweaks.rc" to, include "Tweaks/globalmenu-tweaks.rc" and reload the theme. In order to extract the archive , change the suffix to tar.gz .

Enhancements:

  • Fixed a bug (introduced in v0.97) where empty lists had a blue color.
  • Evolution vertical mail preview mode list headers fixed.
  • Thunar home toolbar button is now properly skinned.

Krystal Drop 0.7.2

Krystal Drop 0.7.2

Krystal Drop is a free clone of NeoGeos Magical Drop. more>>
Krystal Drop project is a free clone of NeoGeos Magical Drop.

In it, you play on a field on which lines of gems are being dropped by the top of the screen, at a regular basis or when your opponent makes a combo. You can take or drop gems from the bottom of the screen to make gems disappear.

If you move gems in order to create a vertical alignment of at least three gems of the same colour, they will burst and start a chain reaction with all neighbouring matching gems.

The aim is to prepare some other chain reactions while the first gems are bursting, in order to make a combo and send lines to your opponent. You lose when some gems reach the bottom of the field.

eXtace is a Audio Visualization plugin for the X-Window System.
eXtace project connects to ESD (Enlightened Sound Daemon) and displays the audio data as either a pseudo 3D flying landscape, pseudo 3D pointed landscape, 16-256 channel graphic EQ, multi-mode Oscilloscopes, Horizontal Spectrogram, or a combination Hi-res FFT with a Vertical Spectrogram.
All modes are fully scalable to nearly ANY resolution! (within your CPU/X11 capabilites) Resolutions up to 1600x1200 at 40 FPS use typially less than 30% CPU, depending on your host CPU/X11 capabilities.
Enhancements:
- Fixed problem with dragging of traces.
- Added new line EQ mode., removed old code cruft.

GradeL 0.8.2

GradeL 0.8.2

GradeL (Gradebook for Linux) is a gradebook program for teachers. more>>
GradeL (Gradebook for Linux) is a gradebook program for teachers. Written in Gambas, this program includes some features I felt were important in a gradebook program. While still buggy and incomplete, it is functional.

GradeL requires the development version of Gambas, currently version 1.9.26. GradeL uses Gambas components gb.eval, gb.qt, gb.qt.ext, gb.qt.kde, and gb.qt.kde.html.

Although my coding technique is at times inefficient, GradeL does meet my needs. It features a spreadsheet-style main screen with vertical column headers that include the assignment name, category, and points. Assignments are grouped in categories for reporting purposes. Teachers may enter numerical scores or alpha-numeric codes for student scores.

These codes may count either zero points or excuse the student from that particular assignment. Gambas Grade provides practical reports designed to give plenty of information while conserving paper. Current reports include complete class report, single marking period progress report, and progress reports for all students. One other feature that I really like is an average row included in the spreadsheet that displays the average for the class on every assignment and for the overall marking period grade.

GradeL project is still in its infancy. The program still has bugs and incomplete features. I am making it available now as a preview for review and testing purposes. You may not want to use it as your primary grading program at this time.

EmiFreq applet is an daemon that shows/control the CPU frequency and temperature thanks to the cpufreq sysfs kernel interface.

The emifreqd daemon enables the applet to change the cpu speed. The GUI is very clean, intuitive fast access to frequency change (with HIG help). Modelled over the Wireless applet.

Nicely support vertical panels (change the look depending on the orientation).

Mancala 0.1.0

Mancala 0.1.0

Mancala project is an SDL implementation of the African strategy game. more>>
Mancala project is an SDL implementation of the African strategy game.

This is a program which allows you to play it. It uses SDL for graphics, so it should be (relatively) portable and toolkit-agnostic.

Mancala is a very simple, easy-to-learn game. Each player begins with a vertical row of holes or pits filled with a certain number of stones. At either end of the board are the players home pits, which are used to keep score. (In this case, the human player has the left row and the bottom home pit.)

A move is made by typing the number corresponding to the hole you wish to move from. The stones are then picked up and distributed, one to each hole, moving downward until your home pit is reached, and then moving upwards through your opponents row, bypassing his/her home, and moving back downwards in a circle, until all the stones have been distributed.

HTML::TableTiler 1.21

HTML::TableTiler 1.21

HTML::TableTiler can easily generates complex graphic styled HTML tables. more>>
HTML::TableTiler can easily generates complex graphic styled HTML tables.

HTML::TableTiler uses a minimum HTML table as a tile to generate a complete HTML table from a bidimensional array of data. It can easily produce simple or complex graphic styled tables with minimum effort and maximum speed.

Think about the table tile as a sort of tile that automatically expands itself to contain the whole data. You can control the final look of a table by choosing either the HORIZONTAL and the VERTICAL tiling mode among: PULL, TILE and TRIM.

The main advantages to use it are:

automatic table generation

Pass only a bidimensional array of data to generate a complete HTML table. No worry to decide in advance the quantity of cells (or rows) in the table.
complex graphic patterns generation without coding

Just prepare a simple table tile in your preferred WYSIWYG HTML editor and let the module do the job for you.

simple to maintain

You can indipendently change the table tile or the code, and everything will go as you would expect.

FFT Spectra 1.3

FFT Spectra 1.3

FFT Spectra is a tool for the visualization of frequency spectra of an audio signal. more>>
FFT Spectra is a tool for the visualization of frequency spectra of an audio signal.

Among other things, it can be used to verify whether you are able to sing and whistle in tune or to tune your guitar.

Examples:

Didgeridoo

Didgeridoo is actually the reason, why i started writing this software. The theory of physics explains that when you blow into a cylindrical tube (such as didgeridoo, but PVC pipe works as well) and vibrate your lips, standing waves develop inside the tube.

At that end of the tube, where the air leaves, there is nearly atmospheric pressure and the standing wave has a node there. At the other end, where one blows the air in, the changes in pressure are maximal and the standing wave must have an antinode here.

The situation is depicted on the picture on the right: The horizontal axis represents a position along the tube and the vertical axis represents a maximal pressure variation from the constant atmospheric pressure. The black vertical line represents a zero variation. The left black point is the mouth-side enpoint of the tube. The pressure variation are maximal here. The black point on the right is the open side od the tube - the pressure is constant here.

This node/antinode restriction permits only standing waves with appropriate wavelength (e.g. frequency) to be developed. Other frequencies are forbidden. So, the red curve is a minimal (fundamental) frequency, which is present in the didgeridoo sound. (Corresponds to 70Hz on the picture bellow).

If we squeezed the red curve twice, i.e. made the frequency twice as high, on both end-points there would be an antinode and the node/antinode constrain would not be fulfilled. Really, we see that the peak at 140Hz bellow almost disappears. If we squeeze the curve a little bit more to obtain the green curve, the boundary condition is again met and the peak at 210Hz is clearly visible bellow. And so on.

J2ME ChartComponent 1.5

J2ME ChartComponent 1.5

J2ME ChartComponent is an MIDP 2.0 charting component with basic functionality for showing charts on embedded devices. more>>
J2ME ChartComponent is an MIDP 2.0 charting component with basic functionality for showing charts on embedded devices.
It currently implements the following charts:
Line
Horizontal bars
Vertical bars
Though basic and far from being complete, its being already used for simple charts in production environments.
J2ME ChartComponent currently implements horizontal bar, vertical bar, and line charts. An incomplete and experimental pie chart component is implemented, as well as a very simple legenda.
Enhancements:
- With this release, it is possible to show values for pie charts.
- The drawing functions have been moved outside of the paint method, so that it is possible to draw directly on Image objects instead of having the chart items shown on the Screen (see the drawPie and drawChart methods).
- Some minor bugs have been fixed.
