Logging Services project is intended to provide cross-language logging services for purposes of application debugging and auditing.
We should also mention that thanks to the relentless efforts of many developers, we have a basic level of interoperability between the following projects:
- Log4Cxx (c++)
- Log4j
- Log4Net
- Log4Perl
- Log4PHP
- Log4PLSQL
- JDK1.4s util.logging framework
There is still much work ahead bringing in the various projects to work together within the Logging Services Project. The process is likely to take a little while. In the mean time, we will continue to do what we like best, that is developing open source software.
This is a project of the Apache Software Foundation (ASF). Like all Apache projects, we encourage a collaborative, consensus-based development process. We offer an open and pragmatic software license, and we strive to create software of the highest quality. The ASF is organized into several projects, which like Logging Services project may contain multiple sub-projects.

The Simple RSS Service (SRSSS) generates and serves RSS feeds through a common interface via CGI-enabled webservers. It uses modules to extract items for feeds from various sources, and has a virtual filesystem where feeds can be read by CGI-clients.
The package contains everything needed to start providing RSS feeds, including server and CGI programs, and has support for PostgreSQL, MySQL and MimerSQL.

- Resource-friendly functions that keeps the load down on web- and database-servers by only parsing data and generate new feeds when required, instead of at every request.
- Interface for run-time loading of modules for data-extraction

- A trigger-system that allows external sources to trigger daemon software to fetch new updates

Modules:
These modules are currently available for RSS item extraction:
mod_pgsql
This module allows the RSS daemon (rssd) to extract items for RSS feeds from a PostgreSQL database. It can select an entire column as description field for the feed, or base it on a pre-formated string in which variables are replaced with values from columns returned in the SQL query.
This module also support triggering, where any client connected to the same database is able to trigger RSSD to fetch a new update via the SQL LISTEN and NOTIFY functions.
mod_mysql
This module integrates RSSD with the MySQL database, allowing it to produce RSS feeds based on any information stored in databases running on MySQL. The module allows the user to run just about any SQL query supported by the database to extract the needed information to create a feed.
Mod_mysql does also support pre-formated strings to generate the description for each RSS item it produces.
mod_mimersql
This module allows the RSS daemon to fetch items from the MimerSQL database.

mod_template
This is a template-module that can be used as a starting-point when developing new modules. It is usable, but does not really provide a usable feature.

PHP P10 Oper Services project is a small IRCD operator services written in the PHP scripting language.
It supports levels, and it uses a database. It currently supports the IRCU P10+ IRC server and the PostgreSQL database.
Enhancements:
- PHP Oper Services Alpha 1 PL1 This is a very early release of PHP Services and note that it is an Alpha Release.

Service Management is a Web application that allows users to manage service and repair, including work orders, service scheduling, service calls, preventative maintenance, and customer contact information.
Enhancements:
- Some bugfixes were made for PHP5.
- A new interface was implemented.

epstools service menu is used to create a tiff preview inside an eps file.

If a preview exists, it is replaced by the created one.

ICWS provides a Web services (SOAP) interface for information currency systems. Information Currency Web Services implementation uses Java, the Axis SOAP engine, and the PostgreSQL database server.
Information Currency CVS is a work-alike adaptation of CVS which returns information currency for committed source code.
Allocation of economic resources by financial mechanisms is an essential part of modern economies, and financial innovations have been a powerful force for human progress. Information technology provides the opportunity to create new economic instruments derived from any arbitrary element of information.
Information currency units are economically scarce objects that are issued and maintained by a service that establishes a correspondence between underlying units of information and information currency. Information currency will enable the application of economic mechanisms for information management and valuation.
Information currency units can be traded for other economic instruments, and the trade value of information currency units provides an economic valuation of the underlying information.
Enhancements:
- This release adds the first code for trading information currency, as well as a new Internet draft with an example trade.

Services_Weather searches for given locations and retrieves current weather data and, dependent on the used service, also forecasts.
Up to now, GlobalWeather from CapeScience, Weather XML from EJSE (US only), a XOAP service from Weather.com and METAR/TAF from NOAA are supported.
Further services will get included, if they become available, have a usable API and are properly documented.
Enhancements:
- Various additions to the METAR/TAF service, including cloud types, pressure tendencies and the US version of ice pellets in the conditions.
- Parsing has been changed for the FMC notations and the wind and cloud related groups.
- EJSE has been fixed to make it work again with the demand for registration.
- Globalweather seems to be back online after more than a year, but apparently the service is broken, because the replies are all invalid; thus it is tagged for removal unless Capescience fixes this.
