Easy various links manager or Everest Linux Links Manager (evlinks) is a network manager and config toolkit. more>>
Easy various links manager or Everest Linux Links Manager (evlinks) is a network manager and config toolkit that aims to replace network services and networkmanager.

Tthe design of evlinks:

1. use mac address as config file names to avoid interface name change.

2. multi profile support, for example, you can have a setting for Office and another setting for home.

3. never display info such as "eth0/wlan0/ath0" to users. what is the meaning of this strange words for normal user?

4. coupled loosely, if any component of evlinks crash or can not work, others works very well.

5. policy support: for example, whether start wired at booting time,whether start wireless at booting time,offline or online, if wired line unpluged, shall we switch to wireless?

The components of evlinks:

1. evlinkslo/evlinksboot:

run at system booting.
enable loopback and other interfaces according to config file.

2. evlinksiw, wireless config tool

3. evlinkswireless, a wrapper for evlinksiw to handle multiple wireless adapters. if you only have one wireless adapter, it will start evlinksiw directly.

4. evlinksw, wired config tool, support multiple profiles.

5. evlinkswired, same as evlinkswireless, a wrapper for evlinksw to handle multiple wired adapter.

6. evlinksmonitor, a hal client to monitor the adapter changes. since it use hal, then we can catch the signal when new adapter plugged and removed.

7. evlinkstraffic, network traffic monitor. used in evlinksmonitor and evlinkspppoe.

8. evlinkspppoe, PPPoE clients, used to connect ADSL(no PPPoA support)

9. evlinksdispatcher and evlinksrun. dirty code to help normal user run it easily.that is to say, normal user use evlinksrun to call evlinks utils, they all run as super user. it is not a good design, also had security problem, need change later.

Apache XML Graphics Commons 1.1

Apache XML Graphics Commons 1.1

Apache XML Graphics Commons project is a library that consists of several reusable components. more>>
Apache XML Graphics Commons project is a library that consists of several reusable components used by Apache Batik and Apache FOP.
Many of these components can easily be used separately outside the domains of SVG and XSL-FO. You will find components such as a PDF library, an RTF library, Graphics2D implementations that let you generate PDF & PostScript files, and much more.
Apache XML Graphics Commons has only just begun. Its in the process of being populated with components coming from Apache Batik and Apache FOP. Stay tuned for exciting treasures made available.
In the Wiki, we have a plan for building Apache XML Graphics Commons. The plan provides an idea of what you can expect to find here when were finished migrating components.
Main features:
- Image codecs for PNG and TIFF
- Bitmap image writer abstraction with implementation for the above codecs and for the Image I/O API.
- Java2D helper classes
- Graphics2D implementation that produces PostScript and EPS
- Helper classes for PostScript code production
- XMP metadata framework
- Various I/O classes, encoders and decoders for various formats
Enhancements:
- The ImageWriter abstraction now supports the writing of multi-page formats like TIFF.
- This uses the Image I/O API. A default implementation was provided for AbstractGraphics2D.drawText(ACI, float, float) so that PSGraphics2D supports painting of text using the AttributedCharacterIterator.
- Various fixes and improvements were made in the ImageWriter abstraction.
- A problem where the generation of the PostScript setdash command was assuming that only integer values can be used was fixed.

Q-Audio 2.3

Q-Audio 2.3

Q-Audio is a digital audio interface for Q. more>>
Q-Audio is a digital audio interface for Q. Q-Audio project contains three modules which together provide the basic functionality needed to write digital audio applications.
The audio module implements a (nearly) real-time audio interface on top of the PortAudio library. The sndfile module allows you to access sound files in various formats using libsndfile.
The wave module provides basic operations for creating and manipulating wave data, including operations to convert sample rates, to calculate Fourier transforms, and to display wave data in a GGI visual.
About Q language:
Q is a functional programming language based on term rewriting. Thus, a Q program or "script" is simply a collection of equations which are used to evaluate expressions in a symbolic fashion. The equations establish algebraic identities and are interpreted as rewriting rules in order to reduce expressions to "normal forms". For instance, here is how you define a function sqr which squares its argument by multiplying it with itself:
sqr X = X*X;
Note that, as in Prolog, capitalized identifiers are used to indicate the variables in an equation, which are bound to the actual values when an equation is applied. Equations may also include a condition part, as in the following definition of the factorial function:
fact N = N*fact (N-1) if N>0;
= 1 otherwise;
Functions on structured arguments are defined by "pattern matching". E.g., the product of a list (denoted in Prolog-like syntax) can be computed with these two equations:
prod [] = 1;
prod [X|Xs] = X*prod Xs;
With this definition, the factorial can now also be defined as follows (the notation [1..N], as in Haskell, denotes an arithmetic sequence):
fact N = prod [1..N];
As you can see, the definitions are really just like mathematical equations. The syntax is superficially similar to other modern functional languages like Miranda and Haskell, except that Q is "free-format", i.e., it does not use layout to indicate syntactical structure (thus the semicolon is used to terminate an equation).
Due to its term rewriting heritage, Q goes well beyond most other functional languages in that it also allows you to perform computations with symbolic expressions. For instance, with the definition of the sqr function from above, you will find that sqr (X+1) evaluates to (X+1)*(X+1). This might first look like an arcane feature, but it is actually quite useful, because you can try your definitions with symbolic inputs, too.
Enhancements:
- src/wave.c: minor fixes for compatibility with latest gcc versions

Fast Audio Playlist Generator 0.31

Fast Audio Playlist Generator 0.31

FAPG is a tool to generate list of audio files (WAV, MP3, Ogg, etc.) in various formats (M3U, PLS, HTML, etc). more>>
FAPG is a tool to generate list of audio files (WAV, MP3, Ogg, etc.) in various formats (M3U, PLS, HTML, etc). It is very useful for quickly creating a playlist of a large number of audio files.

It is coded in C to be as fast as possible, and does not use any specific audio library (like ID3Lib).
This allow you to deploy it faster and easier, and to have better performances since the less informations are loaded.
In the other hand, this tool is not (yet) compatible with all the known formats.

Here are some examples for usage :

Generate a PLS playlist for an album :
fapg --format=pls --output=~/path/to/album/list.pls ~/path/to/album

You have a file server using Samba which shares a large amount of audio files for Windows powered computers using Winamp.
The directory on the server containing the files is "/samba/mp3" and is visible on the Windows network as "serveurmp3" :
fapg --backslash --output=/samba/mp3/list.m3u --prefix=servermp3 --recursive --windows /samba/mp3

An HTML playlist for an album :
fapg --output=fapg.html ~/path/to/album
Here is the result : fapg.html
