PySamba 1.0

PySamba 1.0

PySamba is a Python library that provides a full wrapper for the Samba CLI library provided with samba-3.0.24. more>>
PySamba is a Python library that provides a full wrapper for the Samba CLI library provided with samba-3.0.24.

PySamba is a full wrapper based in the work of Tim Potter. In fact, PySamba is built as a Python C extension over the cli library provided with samba-3.0.24 and a Python module that hides the complexity of the lower layer (smb) providing high-level commands like Mkdir or DiskAvail. At now, PySamba provides a fully functional samba wrapper, allowing the developer to interface any samba-capable device much like python’s ftplib does.

PySamba has been written by Juan M. Casillas and released under GNU GPL public License.

You need a gcc compiler, a python running environment (tested with 2.4.3) and the samba-3.0.24 sources. PySamba Has been developed under an UNIX environment (HP-UX) and tested against native NT shares.

Simple & Easy

from pysamba import * ... and go. Server login is encapsulated in the constructor, so just provide the require parameters, and start working with your favorite smb share. PySamba is easy to use, and easy to install.

Installation:

See the INSTALL file, but the installation process is the following:

Get Samba-3.0.24 and uncompress it.

copy py_smb.c and py_smb.h into samba-3.0.24/source/python replacing the existing files

go to samba-3.0.24/source and issue a configure --with-python=python. Then make , make install, make python_ext, make install This will install python’s dynamic library.

Import pysamba from the directory where pysamba is, or copy it to any place under the PYTHONPATH

radmind 1.9.0

radmind 1.9.0

radmind is a remote administration daemon. more>>
radmind is a suite of Unix command-line tools and a server designed to remotely administer the file systems of multiple Unix machines. For Mac OS X, theres also a graphical interface.
At its core, radmind operates as a tripwire. radmind project is able to detect changes to any managed filesystem object, e.g. files, directories, links, etc. However, radmind goes further than just integrity checking: once a change is detected, radmind can optionally reverse the change.
Each managed machine may have its own loadset composed of multiple, layered overloads. This allows, for example, the operating system to be described separately from applications.
Loadsets are stored on a remote server. By updating a loadset on the server, changes can be pushed to managed machines.
Enhancements:
Major changes from 1.8.1:
- Added support for minus transcripts and special files in command files
- Ported to HP/UX. Thanks to Jim Foraker for the patch. [ PATCH 1733645 ]
Minor changes from 1.8.1:
- Daemon no longer displays -R in usage. Users should begin using -B
- Fixed bug where path to echo wasnt being set in ra.sh
- Fixed bug where fsdiff wasnt displaying correct version number

HPUX::SDUX 0.03

HPUX::SDUX 0.03

HPUX::SDUX is a Perl module for creating SD-UX software depots of Perl modules. more>>
HPUX::SDUX is a Perl module for creating SD-UX software depots of Perl modules.

SYNOPSIS

perl -MHPUX::SDUX -e wmf
make; make test; make depot

HPUX::SDUX is a Perl module to assist creating SD-UX software depots for Perl modules on HP-UX. As such, it is utterly useless for Perl users on other platforms.

This version assumes the use of HP-UX 11i and PSF (Product Specification File) layout version 1.0, as outlined in Software Distributor Administration Guide for HP-UX 11i . It may work on other versions, but it is not tested.

After unpacking a CPAN module, move to the expanded directory and say

perl -MHPUX::SDUX -e wmf

This creates intermediate file Makefile.SDUX, based on Makefile.PL in the current directory, and writes Makefile by executing Makefile.SDUX. The resulting Makefile contains a modified target clean and a new target depot, so that you can only follow with

make; make test; make depot

The target depot will install the module in the sdux subdirectory, writes module.psf and invokes swpackage. Thus certin privileges are required for this target.

TkWiCe 0.9

TkWiCe 0.9

TkWiCe is a free wine cellar software. more>>
TkWiCe is a free wine cellar software. As it is written in native Tcl/Tk, youve got a real chance to use it on any operating system with that interpreter on it (you can get Tcl/Tk for any Unix like Mac OS X, Linux, *BSD, AIX, HP-UX or Solaris as well as for PowerPC and Windows).
If you want to get a fast overview about your bottles (perhaps youve got to choose one?), this might be what you are looking for.
If youre more interested in writing intellectual tasting notes take a wordprocessor like LyX or OpenOffice instead. And if 100 points are the most important thing to you, please choose other points of interest than wine (and bestow the saved money). Such things never will be added to this software:
Aims
- Focus is on pleasure, not on charts.
- Function conquers eyecandy.
- Own plain text files for each wine.
- Everything about one wine fits on 1024x768 pixel at once.
- Old computers are new enough.
- No more dependencies than Tcl/Tk (not: operating system).
- Free (means: liberty *and* free of charge).
- Dont replace wine literature (as commercial solutions try).
Enhancements:
- Bugfixes in startup, the cellar book/history window, and the country selection buttons in the main window.
