Bulletin Board News Server .11
Bulletin Board News Server provides a (v)Bulletin Board NNTP interface. more>>
Bulletin Board News Server provides a (v)Bulletin Board NNTP interface.
Bulletin Board News Server is a (relatively) quick NNTP interface for vBulletin. It reads directly from the MySQL DB and is therefore independent of the Web frontend.
It doesnt alter read counters, but "forbidden names", name size limitations, user authentication, and anonymous posting (through a "usenet" user) are implemented.
Registered users (either in the vboard or through a proprietary pw hash in the config file) can see the email addresses of others, as far as the owners permit it.

MOV, MP4 conversion service
MOV, MP4 conversion service can convert files supported by ffmpeg to MOV / MP4 format, supported by my iPod Video G5. more>>
MOV, MP4 conversion service is final and working version of my script, which I use to convert files supported by ffmpeg to MOV / MP4 format, supported by my iPod Video G5.
Everything was tested to be easy to use (finally, after installation). If You have any problems with it, just let me know - Ill try to help as far as I can.
INSTALLATION:
Just download "avi2mov" script, and save it in /usr/sbin/ directory (You can save it in any directory, but take care later, because i assume, youve saved it in /usr/sbin/ :) ).
After this, You need to set proper permissions, so use chmod:
chmod +x /usr/sbin/avi2mov
Finally, You need to add this converter to Service Menu. Create file
/usr/kde/3.5/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/convert-avi-to-mov.desktop
with Kate for example, and copy and paste this code:
[Desktop Action MediaConvertFile]
Exec=/usr/sbin/avi2mov %U
Icon=reload
Name=Convert selected file to mov / mp4 ...
[Desktop Entry]
Actions=MediaConvertFile
Encoding=UTF-8
Icon=reload
ServiceTypes=video/*
ExcludeServiceTypes=kdedevice

Gunner News Reader 0.96 Beta1
Gunner News Reader project is a console-based news reader. more>>
Gunner News Reader project is a console-based news reader.
Gunner is a console-based Usenet news reader which is easy to configure. It supports multiple users, multiple servers, and color consoles. It supports most of the NNTP protocol.
WHAT IS IT?
Gunner is a free Usenet news reader. It was built on a code base provided by Howard Bensons SimpleNews 0.20 with a user interface design patterned after the great Mutt mail client. It supports color terminals, the NNTP protocol, multiple news feeds and multiple users. Gunner is supported on most contemporary UNIX platforms. The Gunner philosophy is similar to Mutts: All news readers suck, were just hoping to make this one suck less.
WHERE IS IT?
Currently there is only one gunner repository. The latest version of gunner may be obtained via anonymous ftp: North America East Coast. This is a source code distribution. There are currently no binaries available. See Installation below for compilation and installation instructions.
INSTALLATION
Gunner was built with the GNU autotools. If you are familiar with GNU software, then you should be comfortable installing gunner. In a nutshell, built it like this:
./configure --prefix=/some/directory
make
make install
edit ~/.gunnerrc
Enhancements:
- Added bounds checking and code stabilization.
- Added support for color terminals.
- Remade the gunnerrc file.

Create New Template Service Menu 0.2.1
Create New Template Service Menu is a context menu item for KDE and Konqueror that automates adding Create New... menu entries. more>>
Create New Template Service Menu is a context menu item for KDE and Konqueror that automates adding Create New... menu entries from existing files. It adds a "Create Template" item to the Actions submenu of the context menu. It consists of a service menu .desktop file and a shell script.
KDE Create New Template Service Menu
This service menu removes the hassle of hand-coding Create New... menu entries. It is accessed by right-clicking regular file icons on the desktop or in Konqueror, pointing to Actions, and selecting Create Template.
It consists of a service menu .desktop file and a Bash shell script. The Create Template service menu runs a shell script that brings up two dialogs--one for choosing an icon to associate with the Create New... menu entry, and the other for entering the menu item text itself. It uses this information to write a Create New... menu item .desktop file. The shell script bases the name of the .desktop file on the name of the document file clicked on from the desktop and places a copy of the file in the .sources subdirectory of ~/.kde/share/templates.
The service menu should be placed in ~/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus and the shell script in ~/bin.
I suggest that users first install the Simple Service Menu Installer available from http://www.kde-apps.org/content/download.php?content=23760&id=1. That service menu provides the same service for installable service menus that mine does for document templates and will greatly simplify the process of installing this service menu. After downloading that service menu just right-click on it, point to Actions, point to Install Service, and click one of the options available on the submenu. Then to install my service menu, just follow the same proceedure and place the shell script in your personal ~/bin directory.
From that point on you will have a nice, simple method of adding both installable service menus and templates to the KDE context menu.
This project is released under the terms of the GNU GPL v.2.0.
Enhancements:
- Changed menu icons to more appropriate ones.

ICOnvert service menu 1.01
ICOnvert service menu is a service menu to convert Windows icon files (*.ico). more>>
ICOnvert service menu is a script/service menu package that adds four entries to Konquerors context menu to convert Windows icon files (*.ico):
1) Extract PNGs
Extracts PNGs as SomeDir/SomeIcon-WxH.png e.g. BlueMoon/BlueMoon-16x16.png, BlueMoon/BlueMoon-32x32.png, etc.
2) Extract PNGs grouped by size
Extracts PNGs as SomeDir/WxH/SomeIcon.png e.g. MoonIcons/16x16/BlueMoon.png, MoonIcons/32x32/BlueMoon.png, etc.
3) Preview in Konqueror
Extracts PNGs to a temporary directory under /tmp, launches a Konqueror window, and deletes the temporary files when that window is closed.
4) Import into current theme
Asks for icon category (apps, devices, etc.) and name, then extracts PNGs into $HOME/.kde/share/icons/[theme]/WxH/[category]/SomeIcon.png where [theme] is taken from $HOME/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals.
Note that this will overwrite files if you specify the name of an existing icon. This is a "feature" -- it allows you to replace a certain icon globally. Use with caution, though -- I suggest that you backup your original iconset.
You can convert multiple icons at the same time from within Konqueror or the command line.
