HP Linux Imaging and Printing Driver Project consists of two projects:

1) HPIJS, a printer driver for HP devices

2) HP Linux Imaging and Printing (HPLIP), a complete printing and imaging solution for Linux (note: HPLIP includes HPIJS).

Printbill is a sophistocated Unix print billing and/or accounting system with associated administration utilities. It primarily supports LPRng but now has limited CUPS support as well.
A simple print filter and accompanying daemon perform pre-printing billing, post-printing billing, print-accounting and print job quote generation. In addition, various utilities for administrators and users are provided - including programs to check your print quota and usage patterns, a web interface for both users and administrators and a command-line quote generator.
Charge rates may be specified on per-page, per-percent-coverage or both, and any number of printers/print queues can be provided (with different charge rates and printer parameters). Monochrome and CMYK colour printers are supported (with separate charge rates for both colour and black ink).
For all filters, processing can happen out-of-order, and you may prioritise jobs on the basis of size (jobs larger than a threshold can get lower priority or higher priority as desired) and jobs are billed in parallel / overlapping - jobs which finish billing first get printed first.
This is not necessarily the same as the order of arrival. Detailed stats are collected on a per-printer basis for job size, CPU time for each job, page count and ink/toner coverage, so you can analyse the usage patterns for your printers and predict when a cartridge will need to be replaced. It supports an optional user-supplied anything-to-postscript filter, so you can get properly billed for plain text, DVI files, image files, and so forth as well as PostScript.
Databases and configuration files may be stored on a centralised web server. This allows read-only access so that Unix (and conceivably Windows) clients could easily check quota, calculate quotes etc. remotely.
For fun, an additional filter is provided which allows users to deduct fixed amounts from their accounts (we use it to let students buy drinks and food from an unsecured laboratory fridge).
Enhancements:
- Finished support for per-user per-printer stats, tested that it works.

Gtk2::Ex::PrintDialog is a simple, pure Perl dialog for printing PostScript data in GTK+ applications.

This module implements a dialog widget that can be used to print PostScript data. It is intended to be a lightweight and pure-perl alternative to the Gnome2::Print libraries.
This module uses a simple system of operating-system specific backends that are used to do the job of printing. Currently, only a generic Linux/Unix backend (implemented using Net::CUPS) is available, more will be added in the future.

The dialog itself is intended to comply with the GNOME Human Interface Guidelines (HIG). It allows the user to print to any printer installed on the system, or to an external command such as lpr, or to print a PostScript or PDF file.

This module is UNSTABLE, the behaviour and API of its components may change in the future.

Unix::Conf::Bind8::Conf is a front end for a suite of classes for manipulating a Bind8 style configuration file.

This class has interfaces for the various class methods of the classes that reside beneath Unix::Conf::Bind8::Conf. This class is an internal class and should not be accessed directly. Methods in this class can be accessed through a Unix::Conf::Bind8::Conf object which is returned by Unix::Conf::Bind8->new_conf ().

The CWP/SU Seixmic Un*x (SU) package is a software environment for seismic processing and seismic and wave-propagation related research.
Seismic Unix project is used not only in seismology but in other areas involving time-dependent data, such as Ground Penetrating RADAR.
Installation:
1) read the READMEs before unbundling cwp.su.all.xx.tar.Z
2) dont install as root (the superuser) (It is possible to damage a systems file structure if the install is not done properly.)
3) begin with the compressed tarfile cwp.su.all.xx.tar.Z in /your/root/path
4) set the CWPROOT environment variable to CWPROOT=/your/root/path
5) put /your/root/path/bin on your working shell path
6) uncompress and untar the compressed tarfile via:
zcat cwp.su.all.xx.tar.Z | tar -xvf -
The code will appear as the single directory /your/root/path/src
7) compile codes via:
cd /your/root/path/src
1) edit the file /your/root/path/src/Makefile.config to agree with the needs of your system.

You may have to do some hacking along the way, if the codes fail to compile the first time through. In this event, you may simply type "make" in the directory where you were modifying code. If code appears to have been missed, you may need to
use the "remaking" options.
A screen dump of a successfull install of the current version of the codes on a RedHat Linux based PC is located in the file: "install.successfull"
Enhancements:
- This version added functions for converting stiffnesses to velocities, replacing lobes on seismic data with a spike of height scaled by the area of the lobe, and carrying out deconvolution by complex division in the frequency domain.
- There were also many code speedups, cleanups, and bugfixes.

CodePrinter is a tiny utility to print out source code or other text files. CodePrinter projects main intent is to provide you with print-outs for your code reviews and to save some paper by fitting two code pages onto one sheet of paper.
CodePrinter is written in Java and makes use of the Java Printing API. Its an Open Source project hosted at SourceForge.net and is protected by the GNU General Public License.
Unix- & Linux people should consider a2ps as an alternative.
