Heirloom Development Tools 070527

Heirloom Development Tools package provides yacc, lex, m4, make, and SCCS... more>>
Heirloom Development Tools package provides yacc, lex, m4, make, and SCCS as portable derivatives of the utilities released by Sun as part of OpenSolaris. The OpenSolaris utilities were in turn derived from the original Unix versions, and are assumed be conforming implementations of the POSIX standard.

Software developed on original Unix systems has quite often used internals of yacc and lex. The tools in this package provide a convenient way to make such software compile on free Unix platforms such as Linux or BSD. In particular, they serve as a stable base for compiling other components of the Heirloom Project.

Curses Development Kit 5.0-20060507

Curses Development Kit is a library of widgets for curses development. more>>
Curses Development Kit is a library of widgets for curses development.
Installation:
To build the library cd into the Cdk distribution directory and follow the following steps:
1) Run configure. This will create a Makefile with a default install directory root of /usr/local. If you want to change the default install directory use the --prefix command line argument on configure. For example, if you want to install under /export/local instead, run the command: ./configure --prefix="/export/local"
2) Type make. This will make the library, the example binaries and the demonstration binaries.
3) Type make install. This will install the CDK distribution. Look at step 1 if you want to install other than /usr/local.
Enhancements:
- Adds functions to simplify changes of the list for alphalist and fselect widgets.
- Modifies handling of the delete key to make it delete the current character (unlike backspace).
- Several other minor fixes and improvements.

AVR Cross Development Kit 20060719

AVR Cross Development Kit 20060719

AVR Cross Development Kit is a cross development kit for the AVR RISC processor. more>>
CDK4AVR stands for Cross Development Kit for Atmels AVR RISC processor serie and should support your development with a comprehensive Assembler and C development environment for even this processor familie under Linux. It will present only free of fee tools, so you can use it without risks. Further you will find some useful OS projects and related sample code all arround AVRs inside of the example packages.
CDK4AVR collects all programms and development tools in one directory (/opt/cdk4avr) and will try to present an easy to admin installation.
My intention for CDK4AVR is / was to provide a full featurd tool chain distribution of all the free accessible resources, because the most stuff is scattered to the wide of the whole Internet and only compileable by wizards or professions.
Installation:
Each package will be provided as RPM only. It is not necessary to install all packages,but you have to install the base package cdk-avr-base every time you want to use another package. Here is an example for a typical GNU development environment:
[user@host]$ rpm -hiv cdk-avr-base-0.3-20031111.i386.rpm
[user@host]$ rpm -hiv cdk-avr-binutils-2.14-20030906.i386.rpm
[user@host]$ rpm -hiv cdk-avr-gcc-3.3.2-20031021.i386.rpm
[user@host]$ rpm -hiv cdk-avr-gcc-c++-3.3.2-20031021.i386.rpm
[user@host]$ rpm -hiv cdk-avr-gcc-colorgcc-3.3.2-20031021.i386.rpm
[user@host]$ rpm -hiv cdk-avr-libc-1.0.2-20040229.noarch.rpm
[user@host]$ rpm -hiv cdk-avr-gdb-6.0-20031019.i386.rpm
[user@host]$ rpm -hiv cdk-avr-simulavr-0.1.2.20040304cvs-20040304.i386.rpm
[user@host]$ rpm -hiv cdk-avr-avarice-2.2-20040229.i386.rpm
[user@host]$ rpm -hiv cdk-avr-uisp-20040207cvs-20040304.i386.rpm
[user@host]$ rpm -hiv cdk-avr-avrdude-4.3.0-20040229.i386.rpm
Base package -- is needed every time you will use any CDK4AVR package.
NOTE: Users of base packages with version 0.2 and prior have to update to latest version. There was a damaged (t)csh startup script. As a result of an buggy %preun script in previous packages you have to update in two cycles:
[user@host]$ rpm -hUv cdk-nios-base-0.3-20031111.i386.rpm
[user@host]$ rpm -hUv --force cdk-nios-base-0.3-20031111.i386.rpm
Enhancements:
- There are minor feature enhancements in AVR-Ada 0.4.1.
- As a result, the packeges for binutils and gcc/gnat were rebuilt.
- There are new packages for the AVR-Ada run time system and related examples.

Enveria IDE for Rapid Application Development 0.3

Enveria IDE for Rapid Application Development 0.3

Enveria IDE for Rapid Application Development is an intuitive platform for programming robust GUI (graphical user interface) sof more>>
Enveria IDE for Rapid Application Development is an intuitive platform for programming robust GUI (graphical user interface) software.

We have launched the Enveria RAD IDE as an open source application (https://sourceforge.net/projects/enveria). Previously, the Enveria IDE was utilized as an internal development tool at Kaizen Denki Inc. -- a Toronto-based software and web development house.

Enveria is free to use for non-commercial purposes under the GPL. Users who wish to use Envria in a commercial capacity should visit the Kaizen Denki home page at http://www.kaizendenki.com.

Major Features:

* An interface that maintains an look and feel that is intuitive for those familiar with IDE software, while user friendly enough for those who are not.

* Backed up by the power of the ubiquitous C programming language. We have chosen C because it is fast, stable, powerful, portable and has a long history of use in computing. An additional bonus for us was that the API for GTK+ (the widget set we use) uses C natively.

* Our use of GTK+ allows Enveria to tap into a well-supported widget set that is available for all major desktop operating systems. On its own, GTK+ is easy to use but with Enveria it is even easier. While Enveria RAD IDE can be an interface builder for GTK+/C programs (like Glade), its power is its capabilities as a complete development tool.

* Enveria can produce code without compiling for those who wish to enhance their applications manually prior to building. Enveria programs are optimized for Make/GCC, which is a widely used combination for C development on many platforms.

Programming languages, libraries, databases, and frameworks used to develop Enveria include:

* C
* MySQL
* SQLite
* GTK+ 2

Currently Linux is the main supported platform for Enveria RAD IDE.

At the same time, we are in the process of evaluating other target operating systems including: Mac OS X, Minix 3, BSD and others.

Sender Rewriting Scheme Library is an ANSI C implementation of the Sender Rewriting Scheme.

It solves the "broken forwarding" problem imposed by SPF (Sender Policy Framework), which is an SMTP Anti-Forgery technology currently under development and deployment worldwide.

And dont think ive done it right either. If its simple and you feel like it submit a patch, otherwise just be as verbose as you can in describing your errors. Please submit output using the -DDEBUG and -DVDEBUG compile time options as these are of the greatest help.

cp2fwbuilder (Checkpoint Firewall 1 to FwBuilder) helps you to migrate an existing Checkpoint Firewall 1 installation . more>>
cp2fwbuilder (Checkpoint Firewall 1 to FwBuilder) helps you to migrate an existing Checkpoint Firewall 1 installation and its rulesets to Linux with iptables or a BSD-based firewall.
This is done by converting the Rulebase- and the Objects- Database from Checkpoint to the FirewallBuilder XML Format.
Remember though, that this program is under development and could eventually do nasty things when doing the translation. especially with things like Userauthentication or Clientauthentication which are not supported under fwbuilder.
To use it, you have the following options
cp2fwbuilder
[--objects=]
[--rules=]
[--all_objs] [--all_services]
[--with_implicit_rules]
[--sort_by_type]
[--verbose] [--version] [--comments]
[--output_xml=]
cp2fwbuilder --objects=objects.C --rules=rulebase.W --output_xml=rulebase.xml
fwbuilder -f rulebase.xml
Enhancements:
- removed quotes from object names

libphidgets is a user-space access library for the Phidget devices, written in C. libphidgets provides a generic and flexible way to access and interact with the Phidgets and comes with all the advantages of a user-space library.

It is based on libhid (which is based on libusb), thus it requires no HID support in the kernel. Furthermore, it aims to support all operating system supported by libusb/libhid: Linux, BSD, OS X, and Windows.

libphidgets is still under development and it does not have a proper homepage (if you want to write one, please contact us!). Until one is ready, you are welcome to download the software and try it out, it should be easy to use if you have some knowledge of C and are willing to read someone else s code.

RADIUS::Packet is an object-oriented Perl interface to RADIUS packets.

SYNOPSIS

use RADIUS::Packet;
use RADIUS::Dictionary;

my $d = new RADIUS::Dictionary "/etc/radius/dictionary";

my $p = new RADIUS::Packet $d, $data;
$p->dump;

if ($p->attr(User-Name eq "lwall") {
my $resp = new RADIUS::Packet $d;
$resp->set_code(Access-Accept);
$resp->set_identifier($p->identifier);
$resp->set_authenticator($p->authenticator);
$resp->set_attr(Reply-Message) = "Welcome, Larry!rn";
my $respdat = auth_resp($resp->pack, "mysecret");
...

RADIUS (RFC2138) specifies a binary packet format which contains various values and attributes. RADIUS::Packet provides an interface to turn RADIUS packets into Perl data structures and vice-versa.

RADIUS::Packet does not provide functions for obtaining RADIUS packets from the network. A simple network RADIUS server is provided as an example at the end of this document. Also, a RADIUS::Server module is under development which will simplify the interface.

OpenVista CIS 0.9.1

OpenVista CIS 0.9.1

OpenVista CIS is a Gtk# EHR for interfacing with VistA based systems (Medsphere OpenVista, VAs VistA, etc.) more>>
OpenVista CIS is a Gtk# EHR for interfacing with VistA based systems (Medsphere OpenVista, VAs VistA, etc.)

OpenVista CIS is a rewrite of the Department of Veteran Affairs Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) in Gtk#. The focus is on using a modern language, internationalization, and cross-platform support.

Architecture

There are two major components to OpenVista, a client (Medsphere OpenVista CIS, commonly referred to just as CIS, OpenVista CIS, or OpenVista Client) and a middleware component (Medsphere OpenVista Bridge). The Bridge handles doing raw RPC communication with the VistA Broker and provides a SOAP (currently broken) and Binary Remoting interface to the client (the client uses one or the other for a given connection). The Bridge is meant to be run on a server (either one running VistA itself, or a separate machine), while CIS runs on a client machine (any machine with a .NET environment and Gtk# available).

There is another component, currently under development, called OpenVista Vitals. This will be both a stand-alone vitals application, as well as a component of OpenVista CIS when it is completed. Note that this project is *not* completed, and should only be considered a pre-preview of what is to come from the Vitals component.

A small portion of the CIS component is actually broken into a separate executable, PdfConverter.exe. This small utility acts as a remoting server, responsible for converting raw bytes of PDFs into GdkPixbuf bytes. This needs to be done out of process, as poppler (and by extension, poppler-sharp) is licensed under the GPL.

The PDFConverter.exe sources, as well as the few shared classes used for remoting, are licensed under a GPL compatible license. We hope in the future that a PDF library with a license less restrictive than the GPL will be available, such that we can increase PDF rendering performance by not having the rendering done out of process.
