MatPLC coruscant

MatPLC coruscant

MatPLC is a software-based PLC for industrial automation. more>>
MatPLC project is a software-based PLC for industrial automation.

MatPLC is a software-based PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) for industrial automation. Ultimately, it should be possible to run a factory using this software.

Currently, one should keep in mind that it is still at the testing stage, and is therefore not suitable for applications where incorrect operation would cause damage or danger.

We take advantage of the fact that we have an underlying operating system and use its features to make the MatPLC modular. One module could be executing mnemonics. Another module is a PID loop. A different module handles I/O, or logs to a database. (These modules all already exist.) The MatPLC then coordinates their workings to present a simple interface to the user.

Currently, we are in early stages: we have a solid core, mnemonics for logic modules (python or C can also be used), a signal-processing module which includes a PID loop, several I/O modules (including numerous industrial networks and an interface to the comedi project) and some simple HMI modules.

exrtools 0.4

exrtools 0.4

exrtools project is a set of simple command-line utilities for manipulating with high dynamic range images in OpenEXR format. more>>
exrtools project is a set of simple command-line utilities for manipulating with high dynamic range images in OpenEXR format. OpenEXR is a high dynamic-range (HDR) image file format developed by Industrial Light & Magic for use in computer imaging applications.
exrtools was developed to help experiment with batch processing of HDR images for tone mapping. Each application is small and reasonably self-contained such that the source code may be of most value to others.
exrtools currently only works with RGBA OpenEXR files. As well, the code assumes that the EXR files and PNG files all use sRGB primaries and gamma function. Fixing this is not very difficult, and the code to fix allows for some interesting possibilities. That said, I do not have time right now, so this will have to wait.
exrtools and its source code is released under an MIT-style license and may be used in both commercial and non-commercial applications without fee.
Applications
exrblur
Applies a gaussian blur to an image.
exrchr
Applies spatially-varying chromatic adaptation to an image.
exricamtm
Performs tone mapping using the iCAM method.
exrnlm
Performs non-linear masking correction to an image.
exrnormalize
Normalize an image.
exrpptm
Performs tone mapping using the photoreceptor physiology method.
exrstats
Displays statistics about an image.
exrtopng
Converts an image to PNG format.
jpegtoexr
Converts an image to EXR format from JPEG.
pngtoexr
Converts an image to EXR format from PNG.
ppmtoexr
Converts an image to EXR format from PPM. Works with the 16 bit per channel PPM files from dcraw for digital cameras with RAW modes.
Enhancements:
- Added the ppmtoexr application to convert from PPM formats including the 48 bit per pixel format output by dcraw.

Etlinux 1.2.1

Etlinux 1.2.1

Etlinux is a complete Linux-based system designed to run on very small industrial computers. more>>
etLinux is an embedded linux distribution, intended for PC/104 boards with flash disk (like M-Systems DiskOnChip) with very little memory and disk space (starting from 2Mb of RAM and 2Mb of flash disk).
Subsequently well refer to the development platform as the "host system" and to the target machine (the one on which etLinux will run) ad the "target system".
Etlinux is a complete Linux-based system designed to run on very small industrial computers. It has been designed to be small, modular, flexible and complete.
Its reduced memory and disk requirements make it ideal for all cost-sensitive situations, while at the same time its modularity and completeness give the full power of unix even for embedded applications.
Etlinux is ideal in all embedded system applications where advanced unix facilities are a must: preemptive multitasking, multithreading, memory protection, fast I/O, enhanced reliability, speed, ...
Moreover, source code availability is a guarantee for the longevity of Etlinux based products.
But perhaps the greatest advantage over competitors is given by the enormous and proven availability of advanced development tools, documentation and sources, giving an effective edge to the developer and reducing the time to market.
In fact the availability of constantly updated quality C/C++ compilers, debuggers, libraries, interpreted languages, and other tools is the most compelling reason to switch away from old proprietary embedded development environments.
Main features:
- embedded cgi-capable WEB server
- a telnet server
- an email server, with the ability to execute commands sent by email from a remote site
- CORBA support
- easy-to-use remote file management
- the powerful Tcl scripting language
- a flexible package selection scheme, allowing an easy customization of the system
- source code available for every component

OpenVISP Admin 0.96

OpenVISP Admin 0.96

OpenVISP Admin is a fork of Postfix Admin. more>>
OpenVISP Admin project is a fork of Postfix Admin.
As administrator of a highly centralized and industrial grade hosting system, I need some webinterface to update data on a SQL database.
First I have used Postfix Admin to manage mail data but I was looking for more specialized system that is not a system that takes hours and is not configurable...
So I have started to modify Postfix Admin to suits my needs and so on.
Why OpenVISP Admin ?
I dont like 3 things on current Postfix Admin :
- The new license that has moved from MPL 1.1 to another proprietary one
- The bloody webforums and the fact that no authors was interested by my patches
- No CVS / CVSweb to see changes between versions
So this is basicaly why I have started a fork of Postfix Admin.
Main features:
- Quota enforcement
- Domain aliases
- Antivirus Checkbox when creating domain
- Antispam Checkbox when creating domain
- Sender / Domain verification checkboxes when creating domain
- GreyListing Checkbox when creating domain
- Spam Assassing Tag
- Spam Assassin Tag score value
- Tranport value when domain is backup MX
- Be more user friendly eg one login password with rights to get what he is allowed to
- Allow Postmasters to get access to APC Masterswitch
- To be done :
- Adding mod_vhs option for FTP and Web servicing purposes
- Allow postmaster to modify per aliases and per mailboxes SA values, etc..
- Allow user to modify their SA values on their mailboxes but also on their aliases
- Allow users to see their weblogs
- Allow users to search in logs for rejected messages and the reason why
- Redesign auth system to be more flexible.
How will this works ?
Interface
All the web interface will store data into MySQL (or PostgreSQL but this is not tested, I need some testers for that). The data is replicated and interfaced to a LDAP with a back_perl.
OpenLDAP back_perl
The back_perl scripts will be released when OpenVISP Admin 1.0 will be released.
Enhancements:
- The setup of all directories has been changed to be more clear about docs and contrib.
- lmtpd filtering options have been added.
- There is a new module to handle Web and FTP hosting.
- Some parts of the Web interface have been changed.
- More security checks have been added.
- There are many other new features.

HCS Open Source Project Beta

HCS Open Source Project Beta

HCS Open Source Project consists of a do-it-yourself home automation hardware and software system. more>>
HCS Open Source Project consists of a do-it-yourself home automation hardware and software system.

The HCS Open Source Project is a stand-alone home automation control system which consists of hardware (main controllers and remote networked controllers) and software to monitor and control various devices around your house.

The current plans support using wired and wireless X10 modules, as well as analog, digital, and voice input and output. Once the HCS is programmed, the use of a PC is not required.

CS stands for Home Control System. Originally designed by Steve Ciarcia for the article "Home Run Control System" for Byte magazine.

What is the HCS II? The HCS II is an expandable, network-based (RS485), intelligent-node, industrial-oriented supervisory control system intended for demanding home control applications.

The HCS incorporates direct and remote digital inputs and outputs, direct and remote analog inputs and outputs, real-time or Boolean decision event triggering, X-10 transmission and reception, infrared remote control transmission and reception, remote LCD displays, and a master console.

The HCS II system architecture consists of a central supervisory controller (SC) connected to up to 32 other functional modules (called links) via a RS485 serial network. The SC and the COMM-Links can operate independently and dont need each other to function.

This allows easy testing or incorporation as intelligent subsystems in other control equipment. Initially the subsystems links all shared a comon 8031 controller board (generically called a COMM-Link) with the I/O customized for each application.

Unicap 0.2.13

Unicap 0.2.13

Unicap provides a uniform API for all kinds of video capture devices. more>>
Unicap provides a uniform API for all kinds of video capture devices. Unicap was designed keeping simplicity in mind so that developers can focus on their actual image processing tasks when using video capture devices.
Device drivers are accessed via a plugin mechanism. Support for new devices can be added on the fly, without recompilation of the library. The API remains the same for each device so that an application using unicap immediately works with all devices supported by unicap.
In the near future, transparent network support will be available allowing applications to use devices connected to a remote computer just as if they were local.
Device support
- IIDC 1394 Cameras: Support for industrial/scientific IEEE1394 cameras.
- DFG/1394
- video-4-linux: Support for many devices conforming to the ( old ) video-4-linux definition
- video-4-linux 2: Support for many devices conforming to the current video-4-linux II definition
Enhancements:
- This version adds some more color space conversion routines and some UI improvements.

OpenEXR 1.4.0a

OpenEXR 1.4.0a

OpenEXR project is a high dynamic-range (HDR) image file format for use in computer imaging applications. more>>
OpenEXR project is a high dynamic-range (HDR) image file format developed by Industrial Light & Magic for use in computer imaging applications.
OpenEXR is used by ILM on all motion pictures currently in production. The first movies to employ OpenEXR were Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, Men in Black II, Gangs of New York, and Signs. Since then, OpenEXR has become ILMs main image file format.
Main features:
- Higher dynamic range and color precision than existing 8- and 10-bit image file formats.
- Support for 16-bit floating-point, 32-bit floating-point, and 32-bit integer pixels. The 16-bit floating-point format, called "half", is compatible with the half data type in NVIDIAs Cg graphics language and is supported natively on their new GeForce FX and Quadro FX 3D graphics solutions.
- Multiple lossless image compression algorithms. Some of the included codecs can achieve 2:1 lossless compression ratios on images with film grain.
- Extensibility. New compression codecs and image types can easily be added by extending the C++ classes included in the OpenEXR software distribution. New image attributes (strings, vectors, integers, etc.) can be added to OpenEXR image headers without affecting backward compatibility with existing OpenEXR applications.
Enhancements:
- This release added support for multithreaded reading and writing of files, Intel-based Mac OS X, and Visual Studio 2005.
- Building against OpenEXR headers was cleaned up.
- Handling of incomplete or damaged files was improved. IRIX, OSF/1, SunOS, Mac OS X prior to 10.3, and GCC prior to 3.3 were deprecated.
- New features were added to the documentation, and many bugs in the code, build system, and documentation were fixed.
