AntTweakBar 1.03

AntTweakBar 1.03

AntTweakBar allows programmers to quickly add a light and intuitive graphical user interface into graphic programs. more>>
AntTweakBar allows programmers to quickly add a light and intuitive graphical user interface into graphic programs to interactively tweak them. AntTweakBar is a small and easy to use library that can be readily integrated into OpenGL and DirectX applications.
Program variables can be linked to a graphical control that allows users to modify them. Thus, parameters exposed by programmers can be easily modified. They are displayed into the graphical application through one or more embeded windows called tweak bars.
Design and integration:
The library is designed to minimize programmer work while offering a fast, clean, intuitive and non-invasive graphical interface. For instance, numerical values are automatically mapped to a RotoSlider control for rapid editing.
It is composed of few functions. Common variables like booleans, integers, floats and enums can be directly mapped to a graphic control through pointers or callback functions. Additionnal editing informations like min and max values can be provided. Keyboard shortcuts can also be associated to controls and an help window which summurizes these shortcuts can be displayed. Programmers are not required to design the graphical interface by providing coordinates or by using a visual UI editor. Controls are automatically organized following an optional given hierarchy. In most cases, only one line of code is needed to add a new variable to a tweak bar.
The AntTweakBar library mainly targets graphical programs that need an easy way to tweak parameters and see the result in real-time like 3D demos, light inline game editors, small 3D applications, prototypes, debug facilities of weighter graphical programs, etc.
While the library itself is written in C++, its programming interface is a C interface, and then it can be directly integrated in any C++ or C program.
It has been designed with performance in mind. Embeded in a typical 3D application, its rendering time is almost insignificant. Bars can also be iconified to fully minimize their rendering time.
Enhancements:
- The medium font is antialiased.
- The code now compiles on 64-bit x86 platforms.
- A problem which occurred if the library was initialized or uninitialized more than once was fixed.
- Some other minor fixes were done.

openSUSE KDE Tweaks 10.2

openSUSE KDE Tweaks 10.2

openSUSE KDE Tweaks are actually KDE 3.5.5 (openSUSE 10.2) patches and two RPM tools. more>>
openSUSE KDE Tweaks are actually KDE 3.5.5 (openSUSE 10.2) patches and two RPM tools through which I have added, modified and removed some features.
I like and dislike the new kickoff menu at the same time, so I decided to change everything about it that I dont like.
Although my patches were meant to change only the new kickoff menu, I ended up changing other parts of KDE, and even writing two little apps. The results of my hacking are all here, so make good use of it.
The patch provides the following modifications:
bi-kicker:
- Changes the order of the kickoff tabs to a more logical order (in order of access frequency): Favorites, Applications, History, Leave
- Removes the IMHO useless Computer tab (can be replaced with a sysinfo icon in the Favorites tab)
- Corrects the order of Grub entries (to descending) in the "Start Operating System" submenu
- Removes the useless "Restart and boot directly into ..." comments from the Start OS submenu
- Changes the order of the Recently Used Apps to the same order as in the old menu and as in the Recent Documents list (new at top, older at bottom)
- Lower the number of days a New Application entry is kept (1 instead of 3)
- Adds an Uninstall context menu entry which calls the uninstall_rpm script with the *.desktop file as the first parameter
- Changes in the old KMenu the "Recently Used Applications" tag to just "Recently Used" and the "Most Used Applications" tag to "Most Used"
- Adds a rounded corner to the left side of the search mode
bi-kicker_noshadow:
- Everything included in bi-kicker
- Removes the shadow surrounding the menu. Useful for those who enable the nVidia composite mode (providing a cool shadow for all active windows) and would like to avoid a strange double shadow effect.
bi-kdesktop:
- Prevents the unwanted realignment of desktop icons when the Auto Align
bi-kcontrol:
- Removed the "Get New Wallpapers" button from the Desktop Configuration Dialog, because it provides unfiltered access to images that are more and more shameless
- Changes the icon of the Display option (different from the Screensaver option)
bi-krpmview:
- Adds a "Quick Install" button to the krpmview kpart which calls the install_rpm script with the *.rpm file as the first parameter
The RPM-Tools provide:
- Simple and quick solution to install an RPM + konqueror service menu
- Simple and quick solution to uninstall an RPM + konqueror service menu
- No dependency handling

Flock of Birds Library 1.0.2

Flock of Birds Library 1.0.2

Flock of Birds Library (libfob) provides an interface to the Flock of Birds hardware. more>>
Flock of Birds Library (libfob) provides an interface to the Flock of Birds hardware. Tedious and error prone tasks such as configuring the flocks data mode, sending commands to the flock, and decoding the data received from the flock are all hidden behind libfobs interface.
Programming the flock hardware can be hard. The programmer has to worry about in which format the flock returns data (pos/quat, quat, mat, pos, angles, pos/angles, etc.) Configuring the flock is error prone and hard to get correct. For older version of the Flock of Birds hardware, simply starting the flock can be a chore.
In contrast, libfob has been designed to be easy to use. The programmer simply tells the library the following:
- Serial port the flock is attached to (ex: "/dev/ttyS0").
- Hemisphere the flock should operate in (ex: "DOWN").
- Maximum speed the flock can operate ("FAST" for newer flock hardware "SLOW" for older hardware).
The programmer can then configure the flock on a per bird basis. Any combination of the following information can be retrieved from a bird in the flock:
- Position
- Orientation
- Buttons
At any time, the programmer can retrieve the above information in any of the following formats:
- Quaternion (represents orientation)
- Vector (represent position)
- 4x4 Matrix (represents position/orientation)
The programmer pays no penalty for retrieving data in one format over another. Internally libfob configures the flocks hardware to send data as fast as possible. libfob maintains multiple representations of the data for fast retrieval by the programmer.
libfob also provides facilities to correct orientation information for incorrectly installed bird sensors.

The UNIX Man Slak Paks 0.5

The UNIX Man Slak Paks 0.5

The UNIX Man Slak Paks is a Slackware package creation framework. more>>
This is a collection of scripts which is used to manage the creation of Slackware packages. This framework is designed to make it easy to add packages to the collection and to easily tweak package parameters for testing and deployment.
The framework currently has a lot of parameters, and also has basic frameworks for CPAN packages. It is possible to add more frameworks and tweaks for other package networks as well, such as the PHP and Python archives, and these are in the works currently.
Enhancements:
- This marks the start of the new style of build scripts. These are much more modular, and have a consistent set of shell functions and variables which work in their defaults for most situations, and can be redefined by a package file to do special setup or other functions
- which some packages may require.
