PHP Directory Listing 0.3.0

PHP Directory Listing 0.3.0

PHP Directory Listing is a simple PHP script that will do just that, list a directory. more>>
PHP Directory Listing is a simple PHP script that will do just that, list a directory.
To use PHP Directory Listing just unpack into the directory you want listed, or unpack somewhere else and symlink index.php, index.css and the .icons directory.
Version restrictions:
- Im currently using the Tango Projects icon library, but theres quite a few of the MIME icons missing. If youre good at graphics and help them out, youre supporting much more projects than just this little script!
- The gray box around a mime type icon / thumbnail does not always have the same size.
- There is no good way of specifying the number of columns when the script is used through symlinks
- Actually, the columns should adjust their number automatically, which they dont
Enhancements:
- This release merges Andreas Aronssons changes.
- ASP files are now supported, and directories have a slash appended.

File::Listing 5.805

File::Listing 5.805

File::Listing is a Perl module to parse directory listing. more>>
File::Listing is a Perl module to parse directory listing.

SYNOPSIS

use File::Listing qw(parse_dir);
for (parse_dir(`ls -l`)) {
($name, $type, $size, $mtime, $mode) = @$_;
next if $type ne f; # plain file
#...
}

# directory listing can also be read from a file
open(LISTING, "zcat ls-lR.gz|");
$dir = parse_dir(*LISTING, +0000);

This module exports a single function called parse_dir(), which can be used to parse directory listings. Currently it only understand Unix ls -l and ls -lR format. It should eventually be able to most things you might get back from a ftp server file listing (LIST command), i.e. VMS listings, NT listings, DOS listings,...
The first parameter to parse_dir() is the directory listing to parse. It can be a scalar, a reference to an array of directory lines or a glob representing a filehandle to read the directory listing from.

The second parameter is the time zone to use when parsing time stamps in the listing. If this value is undefined, then the local time zone is assumed.
The third parameter is the type of listing to assume. The values will be strings like unix, vms, dos. Currently only unix is implemented and this is also the default value. Ideally, the listing type should be determined automatically.
The fourth parameter specifies how unparseable lines should be treated. Values can be ignore, warn or a code reference. Warn means that the perl warn() function will be called. If a code reference is passed, then this routine will be called and the return value from it will be incorporated in the listing. The default is ignore.

Only the first parameter is mandatory.

The return value from parse_dir() is a list of directory entries. In a scalar context the return value is a reference to the list. The directory entries are represented by an array consisting of [ $filename, $filetype, $filesize, $filetime, $filemode ]. The $filetype value is one of the letters f, d, l or ?. The $filetime value is the seconds since Jan 1, 1970. The $filemode is a bitmask like the mode returned by stat().

NcFTP Client 3.2.1

NcFTP Client 3.2.1

NcFTP Client is a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) client applications. more>>
NcFTPs purpose is to provide a powerful and flexible interface to the Internet standard File Transfer Protocol. It is intended to replace the stock ftp program that comes with the system.

Although the program appears to be rather spartan, youll find that ncftp has a wealth of valuable performance and usage features. The program was designed with an emphasis on usability, and it does as much as it can for you automatically so you can do what you expect to do with a file transfer program, which is transfer files between two interconnected systems.

Some of the cooler features include progress meters, filename completion, command-line editing, background processing, auto-resume downloads, bookmarking, cached directory listings, host redialing, working with firewalls and proxies, downloading entire directory trees, etc., etc.

The ncftp distribution comes with the useful utility programs ncftpget(1) and ncftpput(1) which were designed to do command-line FTP. In particular, they are very handy for shell scripts. This version of ncftp no longer does command-line FTP, since the main ncftp program is more of a browser-type program.

AVI TV Episode File Resizer 1.0

AVI TV Episode File Resizer 1.0

AVI TV Episode File Resizer was made to fit (resize the file) multiple Xvid TV episodes (entire season) on a single DVD. more>>
AVI TV Episode File Resizer script is not for multiple MOVIE files (only TV) however it can do SINGLE MOVIE files quite nicely. The project was designed to help me fit (resize the file) multiple Xvid TV episodes (entire season) on a single DVD. Most of the time a TV series is almost exactly the same hours, mins, secs.

That enables this script to set the video bitrate the same for every file (episode) being processed to get the desired file size. The calculation is based on the hours, mins, seconds and the desired file size you want. If you correctly enter the time you will end up with a file size VERY close to the value you entered. The episodes will likley vary about 10 secs or so. Try to average that out when you select the episode time

The new files will have the EXACT same name as the old files so the input and output cannot be in the same DIRECTORY.

The "input files" selector can select multiple files so you can encode one or many files.

If you select an entire season (about 25 episodes) of files it could take quite a few hours to complete. The progress bar updates AFTER the completion of the first file and after every file there after. The current file being processed is displayed in the bottom status bar.

Transcode single pass is used to REencode the files.

Each file will be REencoded with MP3 audio bitrate of 96 kbps. The video is REencoded with the Xvid4 codec.

I used this script to go from 230MB to 175MB with good results. That saved me almost 1.4G for the season (25 episodes) and let me get it on a single DVD to play on my stand alone player.

You should try it with a single file first to check the quality and then do a batch job.

There are other tools to do this but this one can be setup and going in less than 1 min.

It takes almost 10 hours to do an entire season (25 episodes) at an episode time of 25 min 30 sec with a target file size of 171MB (ends up being about 174.8MB)

GLTV 0.2

GLTV 0.2

GLTV is a tv viewing application written using OpenGL and SDL. more>>
GLTV is a tv viewing application written using OpenGL and SDL. It is designed to have an easy method of adding good looking on screen display (OSD) elements. Eventually i plan on adding support for XMLTV tv listings, so you can see whats on currently, and browse the tv listings from within the program, but i am currently just adding support for the basics, and trying to make the general look of the OSD nice. It uses alpha blending and double buffered reads, so you probably have to have a decent video card and cpu to run it well (it takes 50% of my tbird 1.2ghz machine (but only 1-2% of my 1.5gb of ram). it also uses a lot of textures (the video is a texture mapped onto a quad) so you might need to have a fair amount of video memory (i have a GeForce 2 gts with 32mb of ram, and it runs at a good speed).

It requires: a video4linux (1) capture card, OpenGL, Freetype 2, SDL and XMLwrapp. Theoretically, any v4l capture card should work, but i am using a bttv based one (Hauppauge, bt878), so it might not work too well with other cards, or cards using other drivers. If you are using another card and have success or problems with it, let me know so I can fix them if there is a problem (or add them to a list of known supported drivers).

Note: you must have a file called .gltvrc in your home directory. For an example with the default options, look at gltvrc.default in the source directory.

xmltvdb 3

xmltvdb 3

xmltvdb is a fairly simplistic tv listings database/viewer for xmltv listings. more>>
xmltvdb is a fairly simplistic tv listings database/viewer for xmltv listings. It uses PostgreSQL and mod_perl.

Creating the Database

First off, youll want to create your database. The schema.sql file contains the basics youll need. The mkschema.sh will replace the placeholder schema name within schema.sql with the value you pass it as an argument, and spit the result out to stdout. So, you might do something like:

./mkschema.sh xmltv | psql database xmltvuser

And assuming the xmltvuser has create schema privileges (important!) it should create everything. If you want separate users for schema ownership versus reading/writing data, youll have to setup the grants yourself. The pgadmin3 tool makes doing such mass grants easy.
