MegaTunix 0.9.14

MegaTunix 0.9.14

MegaTunix is the only tuning software for Unix. more>>
MegaTunix is the only tuning software for Unix (and now Win32) class operating systems that supports all existing megasquirt firmwares.

MegaTunix has been recently redesigned in such a way as to be extensible to support new firmware variants with little to no new code needing to be written.

The new design permits the gui tabs that relate to MegaSquirt variables to be redesigned using the Glade GUI designer for windows or Glade gui designer for Unix to change or alter the gui look/feel to accomodate new controls on more advanced firmwares.

This tuning software is capable of the most complete interrogation of the ECU than any other tuning software out there currently (MegaTune for windows, MS-Palm, MegaSquirtPCC).

This advanced interrogation is configurable and provides the most complete detection of the target firmware, (such to prevent mis-detection) and would even allow MegaTunix to work with non-MS hardware though this left up as an exercise for the user.

MegaTunix is developed on Linux (Gentoo Linux specifically), but does work on all other Linux distros (Assuming the proper libraries are installed), FreeBSD and Mac OS-X (with fink and the necessary support libraries installed) and now Win32 platforms as of 0.6.1 and newer.

Penguin Greetings 0.9.9

Penguin Greetings 0.9.9

Penguin Greetings is a Perl Web-based greeting card application. more>>
Penguin Greetings is a Perl Web-based greeting card application. Penguin Greetings is two products wrapped into one. Penguin Greetings is an engine for handling web "ecards." It is also a collection of 200 cards that can be quickly and easily installed into any server for an immediate ecards solution. In addition, another 24 card images are included separately in the Penguin Greetings - Four Seasons collection and another 16 note card images are now included in the Penguin Greetings - Savoring the sights of Seattle Collection. The cards are photo-based and are similar in style and taste to Apples iCards content. To see the complete Penguin Greetings solution, go to the demonstration page.
The Penguin Greetings (pgreet) engine is a web-based greeting cards for LINUX and other UNIX-based systems written in Perl. Penguin Greetings is template-based and shifts ecards to be more like email instead of web-only objects. For flexibility and security, a separate daemon works with the emails and stores data permanently on the server.
Main features:
- Supports any number of ecard sites running on the same server. Each site is independent with its own configuration, database files, and HTML content. Localization/Internationalization is supported so that secondary ecard sites can be used to support multiple languages and regions. User ecard sites are supported.
- Customizable HTML templates for both the ecards and creation screens so that the web content is completely independent of the Perl program. Perl content is embedded using Embperl or now HTML::Mason so that the full power of Perl is available to content developers and for server-side processing. Object-oriented ecard sites can be created using Embperl::Object or Mason. At the same time, creating templates does not require any specific knowledge of Perl. Using Embperl or Mason, it is possible to build complicated ecard sites as demonstrated by the Penguin Greetings - California Poppy Collection. or the Penguin Greetings - Savoring the sights of Seattle Collection
- Support for a persistent Perl interpreter via SpeedyCGI for robust performance under production loads. Configuration and state information is cached in memory for improved performance under SpeedyCGI. Retains support for standard CGI for portability.
- Greeting cards that function more like email. The announcement of the card includes the text of the card so that the recipient can reply to the message. The email of the author is included in the email reply-to field so that recipients can reply to the ecard using the reply feature of most email clients.
- Uses MIME multipart HTML formatted email to directly send complete ecards to recipients.
- Automated installation procedure, including: the installation of CPAN modules not included in Perl 5.8.0, localization of configuration files, and installation of applications, configuration files, and a default ecard website.
- Access to card creation can be limited to users stored in an htpasswd file on server for sites which want to have ecards available only to a particular group of people.
- A separate application daemon to handle such chores as: card scheduling for emailing on a particular date, purging of old cards after a certain date, and backup database files.
- A user agent separate from the user ID which the web server runs as for mailing and storing of data. If desired, ecards can be emailed under existing email accounts on server. Specific human users on the server can be given access to this feature via an access control list.
- Extensive configuration options. Including the location of configuration and data files, performance tuning, and content parameters.
- Based on standard Perl CPAN modules for portability and reliability.
- Extensive logging of daemon activities.
- Six secondary demonstrations sites included with the distribution, Five of which exist in both English and French as examples of internationalization. Four use Embperl::Object to demonstrate object-oriented website building techniques and one uses HTML::Mason.

liblogging 0.6.0

liblogging 0.6.0

Liblogging is an easy-to-use, cross-platform library for RFC 3195-style logging. more>>
Liblogging is an easy-to-use, cross-platform library for RFC 3195-style logging. It has a very simple API which takes out all complexity of the new BEEP-based RFC 3195 syslog standard. It supports RAW and COOKED profiles as well as initiators and listeners.
Liblogging takes a different approach. It is a library specifcally created to talk syslog, NOT general BEEP. It provides just the bare functionality needed for syslog, nothing else.
Consequently it is very slim. The authors hope that this will enable developers of even low-powered devices to adopt the library and provide reliable syslog logging.
This library has been named liblogging because it may eventually contain code for additional logging methods in the future (like "plain" UDP syslog, 3195 COOKED and syslog-sign).
This library compiles under a variety of platforms. It is originally developed and maintened under Win32. It is frequently ported and tested on Red Hat Linux.
These are the platforms (in this order) we have the most confidience in the library on. Others may (though unlikely) show unexpected behaviour.
This documentation file here is NOT up to date. However, it will provide you a good overview of the overall design and many specifics. To get the totally right details, please see the respective modules documentation.
Please note that the SEQ handling described below for the listener part is NOT YET implemented - but it is still on the list. As such, the server API should be considered unstable.
If you base a server on liblogging, please be prepared to update your server to make it work with future versions of liblogging. Of course we try to keep the impact as low as possible, but thats not a guarantee!
The client side API is stable and changes should not be necessary for future releases (except, of course, you would like to use new features).
Design Goals:
The overall mission of liblogging is to provide a small, easy to use library that will work as an enabler for reliable syslog.
There are a number of design goals:
- self-contained
No additional libraries shall be needed
- low ressource consumption
Memory and CPU usage should be kept to a minimum so that the lib can also be used on low-powered devices
- thread-model agnostic
No specific threading model is needed for this library. Everything can be done from a single thread, BUT the library is thread-safe so that it can be called from multiple threads concurrently.
- extensible
Even though the initial design includes a very limited feature set, liblogging should be able to be extended easily.
- portability
Thats a hard one. liblogging is developed under Win32. While we take reasonable care to make it portable, we only know this once ports have actually been done.
Version restrictions:
- tuning profiles are not supported
- only 2 channels (channel 0 and 1 syslog channel) are supported
- at this time, only the RAW profile is supported
The file architecture.c does NOT contain any code - it is solely used to provide this documentation.

GuiTuner 0.05 beta2

GuiTuner 0.05 beta2

GuiTuner is a simple guitar tuning program for Linux. more>>
GuiTuner tries to detect the pitch of the sound recorded in real time from the audio device using some methods ( by now only based on FFT ) that you can configure at runtime.
It is self-explanatory, you just have to connect your guitar or your microphone to the sound card, configure the input device using a mixer and see what the program tells you: it displays the note nearest to the picked sound and the interval between it and the note produced by the instrument.
If the sound produced is lower than the right one the left arrow becomes green, if is higher becomes green the right arrow. From version 0.05beta1 is available a simple tone generation section, that uses presets.
There are a "stable" and an "unstable" version, both may not work properly, but the "stable" one has been tested for a year, so its problems are more or less known. Download the unstable version only if you want to test it and help with its development, reporting bugs and problems.
Enhancements:
- Added Alsa support and simple tone playing, with preset support.
