TNV 0.3.7
TNV depicts network traffic by visualizing packets and links between local and remote hosts. more>>
TNV stands for The Network Visualizer or Time-based Network Visualizer and depicts network traffic by visualizing packets and links between local and remote hosts.
TNV is intended for network traffic analysis to facilitate learning what constitutes normal activity on a network, investigating packet details security events, or network troubleshooting. TNV can open saved libpcap (from tcpdump, windump, ethereal, etc.) formatted files or capture live packets on the wire, and export data in libpcap format or save the data to a MySQL database to enable examining trends over time.
The main visualization shows remote hosts along the left side and a reorderable matrix of local hosts on the right, with links drawn between them. The local host matrix shows aggregated packet activity as background color, and shows network packets as triangles, with the point representing the directionality of the packet. Packets and links are color coded to protocol, and the user can optionally show the flags for TCP packets.
By selecting a cell within the matrix, representing a local host for a certain time period, the user can show either the packet details or the port activity related to that host. The main interaction mechanism for moving through the data is a scrollbar that sets the viewable selection, while at the same time showing areas of relative network activity in a bar graph - providing an overview of the entire data set with a more detailed display in the main visualization.
Enhancements:
- External data tools for doing URL queries or running scripts.
- Improved error handling.
- A potential capture dialog fix for Linux.
- A universal binary of the jpcap library for Mac PPC and Intel.

Breakage project is an artificially intelligent drum machine which learns from trends in your rhythms so it can accompany your drumming.
Patterns are written in a step sequencer grid and a neural network is set to learn relationships between drums. After training, the network can accompany your drum programming in real time.
For example: you write five patterns with kick, snare, closed and open hi hat channels, train the network to relate the kick + snare and closed + open hats. Now the hi-hats automatically respond to changes you make on the kick + snare channels.

GYach Enhanced 1.0.7
Gyach Enhanced is currently the most feature-rich Yahoo! client for Linux operating systems. more>>
Gyach Enhanced (Gyach-E) and pY! Voice Chat. Gyach Enhanced is currently the most feature-rich Yahoo! client for Linux operating systems.
It is an unofficial fork of the original Gyach, and supports almost all of the features you would expect to find on the official Windows Yahoo! client: Voice chat, webcams, faders, nicknames, audibles, avatars, display images, and more.
Yet, it remains very light-weight and memory-friendly. Gyach Enhanced, pY! Voice Chat, and the Gyach-E Webcam Utilities all use Gtk-2 for their user interfaces (Gtk-2 2.0.6 or better required).
Gyach Enhanced is intended to be a deliberate departure from the growing trend of multi-protocol/multi-platform messaging and chat clients which often suffer from half-baked or non-existent support for major features such as voice, webcams, privacy, security, and spam control, and generally offer slower adoption of new protocol features that Windows users have access to almost immediately with each new Y! Messenger release. Gyach Enhanced is never intended to be a multi-protocol application (i.e., not intended for connecting to MSN, AIM, etc.) as I would rather use a client that handles one messaging system and handles it well, than a client that handles only the basics on several systems.
Gyach-E is about PROGRESS: Being among the first, not the last, to implement support for new features. Lately, Gyach Enhanced has been adopting new features at an alarming rate, as the development has not been bogged down with a need to rewrite/recompile code for Windows and other operating systems or a need to delay the addition of new features for fear of its affects on other protocols plugins. In other words: New features are added quickly because I do not have to worry if something will work on Windows or if the new addition will break MSN support...Gyach Enhanced just worries about Yahoo! on Linux: Thats it. "One protocol, one OS...done well.". Gyach Enhanced is also the first Yahoo application for Linux with support for the vast majority of the new features added to the Windows Y! Messenger 6: Display Images in the PM window, Avatars, Audibles, and Stealth Settings.
While other applications prefer to focus on things such as themeable smileys...Gyach Enhanced is focused on USEFUL features such as webcam support, voice chat, controlling spam (about 75-95% effective), and doing the best it can to prevent you from being booted, bombed, flooded, and stalked. Gyach-E is known to survive tons of different boot codes and is constantly being patched to defend against new ones as I find out about them. For example, when support for Audibles was added to Gyach-E, I also anticipated that people would eventually start using Audibles to flood people and send Audible spam, so I also implemented measures to help defend against these types of abuse.
This is part of the concept behind Gyach-E: Allow the user to enjoy the latest features while containing and minimizing any damage that can be caused by people abusing the new features. The program responds intelligently to boot attacks by temporarily shutting down sound events and dialog boxes to avoid X and sound card-related crashes, controlling the flow of incoming network packets, minimizing CPU usage during an attack, auto-ignoring users as necessary, monitoring and logging suspcious events, and sometimes, even booting the bot/person thats trying to boot you.
Together with pY! Voice Chat, the Gyach-E Webcam utilities, and a few light-weight plugins (including encryption support), Gyach Enhanced is the most advanced, feature-rich Linux client for Yahoo! thus far. It is the first (and, to my knowledge, the ONLY) Linux Y! client that supports both voice chat and webcams (sending and receiving.)

Cricket 1.0.5
Cricket is a high performance, extremely flexible system for monitoring trends in time-series data. more>>
Cricket project is a high performance, extremely flexible system for monitoring trends in time-series data. Cricket was expressly developed to help network managers visualize and understand the traffic on their networks, but it can be used all kinds of other jobs, as well.
Cricket has two components, a collector and a grapher. The collector runs from cron every 5 minutes (or at a different rate, if you want), and stores data into a datastructure managed by RRD Tool. Later, when you want to check on the data you have collected, you can use a web-based interface to view graphs of the data.
Cricket reads a set of config files called a config tree. The config tree expresses everything Cricket needs to know about the types of data to be collected, how to get it, and from which targets it should collect data. The config tree is designed to minimize redundant information, making it compact and easy to manage, and preventing silly mistakes from occurring due to copy-and-paste errors.
Cricket is written entirely in Perl and is distributed under the GNU General Public License.
Cricket is developed on Solaris machines running under Apache. It is known to work on Linux, HP-UX, variants of BSD, and other operating systems. Some users are successfully using Cricket under Windows NT and/or Windows 2000, but at this time, no one has documented this.
Enhancements:
- An error with case dependance with new style views was eliminated.
- A "label" tag was added to the "view" dictionary. This eliminates the need for using spaces in view names. It also allows the Cricket admin to alias different targetTypes to the same name in the HTML menu -- use this feature wisely!
- systemPerfConf.pl was reverted back to using our own SNMP_Session based SNMP interface, and interfaces detection was added [Mike Han]
- The distributed sample-config/Defaults has width-hint and height-hint commented out, to cut down on squashed graphics.
- The handling of NaN was standardized throughout the code. To check for NaN, use isNaN from Common::Util.
- All text files now have LF line endings. In the 1.0.4 release, a number of files were inadvertantly changed to have CRLF line endings.
- A small bug in threshold monitoring was identified and fixed by Jase MacLeod.
- Error reporting by the monitor subsystem has been reviewed and made more extensive, based on a patch by Andrew Clark. If you have scripts that look for the text string "Skipping", you are well advised to look for "Monitor" instead, and review your scripts while youre at it.
- We now support s390x-linux, thanks to Shane Stixrud. [Patch #877924]

JColorGrid 1.860
JColorGrid is a data visualization tool. more>>
JColorGrid is a data visualization tool. JColorGrid is a platform-independent Java application for transforming numerical or text data into color-grids.
A color-grid is a generalization of the popular heat map representation that displays information two-dimensionally with an associated color hue. Color-grid representations provide an excellent means of illustrating complex data sets and can be used to identify trends, clusters and extremes in a given data set.
JColorGrid has been designed for ease of use and general utility. Data is entered into JColorGrid from a spreadsheet file (.xls) or a tab-delimited text file. Titles, row and colomn headings, scale titles and data are specified in input file. JColorGrid will represent both numerical and text data. There is no limit on the number of columns and rows.
Configuring the output color-grid is done using the JColorGrid configuration menu. Display colors can be specified for the data range, as well as for data the requires special handling, called exceptions. Additionally, the gradiant of the color scale is specified in the configuration menu. JColorGrid has many flexible color options that users are encouraged to explore. JColorGrid will output to both JPEG and EPS allowing the user to further modify the color-grid output in a suitable graphics editor.

Global Menu 0.7.6
Global Menu Bar for GNOME more>>
Global Menu 0.7.6 offers you an excellent and useful product which is the globally-shared menu bar of all applications launched in your desktop session (A replacement of the old Mac-Menu package). This project introduces document-oriented concepts into GNOME, and improves GNOMEs respect for Fittss law. Most GTK applications work just fine with Global Menu. Global Menu replaces Mac Menubar for GNOME and Xfce.
Major Features:
- It works better with narrow windows, because the width of the menus isn't limited to the width of the window. (This is a problem for Gimp and Inkscape especially.)
- It's less confusing -- when two menu bars are visible on-screen at once, sometimes people choose the wrong one.
- Global Menu is the first step to move toward a Document Centric Desktop Environment ( ThoughtsOnADocumentCentricGnome ) which is a long-term trend in DEs.
Enhancements: Features many bug fixes.
