Tremulous for Quake 3 Arena is an open source modification that blends a team based FPS with elements of an RTS. Players can choose from 2 unique races, aliens and humans. Players on both teams are able to build working structures in-game like an RTS.
These structures provide many functions, the most important being spawning. The designated builders must ensure there are spawn structures or other players will not be able to rejoin the game after death. Other structures provide automated base defense (to some degree), healing functions and much more...
Player advancement is different depending on which team you are on. As a human, players are rewarded with credits for each alien kill. These credits may be used to purchase new weapons and upgrades from the "Armoury". The alien team advances quite differently. Upon killing a human foe, the alien is able to evolve into a new class. The more kills gained the more powerful the classes available.
The overall objective behind Tremulous is to eliminate the opposing team. This is achieved by not only killing the opposing players but also removing their ability to respawn by destroying their spawn structures.

mod_uid is a module issuing the "correct" cookies for counting the site visitors.

What it actually does:
- if the user has provided the cookie header with the correct cookie-name, the module writes this cookie in notes with the name uid_got (accordingly, then it may be written to the log);
- if the user has arrived without the required cookie, the module issues the SetCookie header for him/her and writes the cookie thus issued in notes with the name uid_set (and this may also be written to the log);
- if built-in P3P support is included, the P3P header is also issued as the Set-Cookie header is issued.
Advantages:

PHAMLs primary initial goal of the PHAML project was to produce a parallel version of MGGHAT. This has subsequently been extended to include additional capabilities. The target architecture is distributed memory multiprocessors, such as Beowolf-type PC clusters.
MGGHAT is a sequential program for the solution of 2D elliptic partial differential equations using low or high order finite elements, adaptive mesh refinement based on newest node bisection of triangles, and multigrid. All aspects of the method are based on the hierarchical basis functions.
Adaptive refinement, multigrid and parallel computing have each been shown to be effective means of vastly reducing the time required to solve differential equations. However, effectively combining all three techniques is not easy and is the subject of current research. PHAML is an attempt to solve this problem.
