KToshiba is a battery monitor and Fn-Key support for Toshiba laptops. more>>
KToshiba is a battery and Fn-key monitoring for Toshiba laptops, but it does much more than that. KToshiba lets you configure the Fn-F# combinations with the supported options to let you have a complete and fully customizable setup for your specific model, and lets you use those special multimedia keys found on the front panel (prev, next, play/pause, stop), plus some others found on newer models.
It also features a Grapical User Interface (UI) higly integrated with KDE a powerful Desktop Environment, and a configuration module available through the Control Center or directly from the application panel menu.
All of these coulnt be done without the work of Jonathan Buzzard and his Toshiba utilities.
Main features:
- Battery status monitoring (including AC status)
- Monitoring of MultiMedia keys on front panel (if available)
- Mute/Unmuting (via KMix)
- Lock Screen (via DCOP call)
- Battery Save Mode options
- Suspend to RAM (via ACPI, if available)
- Suspend to Disk (via ACPI, if available)
- Video Out toggling (for the moment only a widget displays status, since some models do it automatically)
- Raise/Lower LCD Brightness
- Control Wireless Antenna power (On/Off), and monitor switch status (On/Off)
- MousePad enabling/disabling (via ksynaptics and synaptics driver, if available)
- Control of Speaker volume (for models that do it via hotkey)
- Control the Fan status (On/Off)
- Selection of desired Boot Priority
- Control LCD Backlight (On/Off)
- Control Bluetooth device (On, if available)
- Control CPU Frequency Scaling via SpeedStep(r) (if available)
- Control Hyper-Threading(r) support (if available)
- More to come... (hopefully)
Enhancements:
- Suspend support now uses HAL
- KToshiba is now able to run commands using Fn-Keys
- New model IDs added
- KToshiba now requires libsynaptics

WMTosh is an ACPI monitoring applet, targeted at toshiba laptops. more>>
WMTosh is an ACPI monitoring applet, targeted at toshiba laptops. It can show cpuspeed, temperature, battery level, fan function.

WMTosh also allows a limited control of those functions, plus lcd brightnes. As for now limited to linux.

I wrote this small dockapp in 2003, when i got my hands on the Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100, on which i was and am using ACPI. Back then there was almost no ACPI-aware DockApp. This one is based on WMiFS project, big thanks go to its authors. The first version supported ACPI performance and battery objects, as well as toshiba fan and toshiba brightness setting.

http://gentoo.mirrors.pair.com/experimental/ppc64/livecd/
It has a few changes to boot on the Xbox 360 (codename xenon).
How does it work ?
Burn gentoo-livecd-xenon-beta-v2.iso. Upload the cdreader binary via serial, or use the new king kong patcher with built-in readcd code, this will open the dvd tray. Put the gentoo-livecd-xenon-beta CD in the drive. cdreader will automatically start the xell bootloader located at lba 0x20 on this cd and boot the Linux Kernel.
Thanks to stonersmurf for the compilation of the liveCD.

Gournal 0.5.1

Gournal 0.5.1

Gournal is a notepad application for Tablet PCs. more>>
Gournal is a note-taking application written for usage on Tablet-PCs (such as the Toshiba M200). Its designed for usage with a stylus, not a mouse or keyboard.
It does not have handwriting recognition but can be used in co-ordination with xstroke to accept text. Gournal is written in perl using gtk2-perl so you will need gtk2-perl along with the gladexml and gnomecanvas modules of gtk2-perl.
The pages are saved as gzipped SVG files (not totally standard yet but working on it). This is my first attempt and I have never used any M$ tablet applications (deleted Win before first boot) so I dont have any idea what features are good/needed.
Gournal looks/works just like a physical notebook with multiple pages. To save memory/speed load time it only loads pages when they are viewed so the app will not run much slower if you have 1 or 100 pages. Each page is named according to when it was created. The pages are saved as gzipped SVG files. Gournal has the following tools:
< Multiple sections >
Fine/Normal/Medium/Think Pens
Eraser
Highliter
Typed Text
Time-stamp
Zoom
Infinite undo/redo
Delete entire strokes
Networkable pages
< Insert Images >
< Load a file as the background >
Enhancements:
- Support for printing the pages and files changed from .svg.gz to .svgz for compatiability with standards

WMApm 1.1

WMApm 1.1

WMApm is your typical laptop APM (Advanced Power Management) dockapp. more>>
WMApm is your typical laptop APM (Advanced Power Management) dockapp. One interesting feature is "timer" mode, where you can keep track of how long the laptop has been "on battery". This is opposite of the information usually provided by the BIOS, which is "time remaining", and in many cases wrong. This option can be toggled at run-time.

System messages scroll on the bottom of the window, AC plug flashes when battery is charging, and green LED inside the big button flashes red if battery level is critical low. Since version 1.1 there are some #defines for broken APM BIOSes to disable certain features.

Installation:

* make
* copy wmapm somewhere useful
* dance
* /wmapm &
* phear
(if it doesnt work, skip the phear step)

This works on all machines that have a standard non-borked APM implementation. For people with broken APM implementations, I added some stuff, which was sent to me by Daniel Pittman, to compensate for some of the stupidity. If you see dumb behaviour from wmapm, consider editing wmapm.c and uncomment one, or both, of these lines (on lines 19 and 20):

#define RETARDED_APM if your bios thinks the battery is charging all the time when its on AC power. What this will do is stop "charging" process as soon as the battery reaches 100%.

#define STUPID_APM if your bios shows -1 minutes remaining when AC is plugged in, or when battery is charging.

If your bios is even dumber than this, and you come up with another special case that needs to be handled, feel free to #ifdef it under < badword >_APM and send me a diff -u. I will include it in the next version. Any of these changes would have to go into acquire_apm_info. Note, I changed format of apminfo structure to get rid of redundancy - now there is only one power state variable, which keeps track whether we are on AC, charging, battery, etc.

Note, all the *_APM stuff is untested - my laptop has a working BIOS. If you test this and it doesnt work as advertised, go ahead and send me a fix.

As soon as ACPI is fixed I will make a version of wmapm for Linux ACPI. But until it works on MY laptop (toshiba satellite 2545xcdt) dont expect me to do anything about it. I will not accept patches either.

Image::MetaData::JPEG::MakerNotes 0.15

Image::MetaData::JPEG::MakerNotes 0.15

Image::MetaData::JPEG::MakerNotes contains random information and details on MakerNotes. more>>
Image::MetaData::JPEG::MakerNotes contains random information and details on MakerNotes.

Pieces of information available after parsing the MakerNote

The result of the process of parsing the maker note is stored in a directory in the internal data structure for the APP1 Segment, whose path is "IFD@SubIFD@MakerNoteData_$format", where $format is the specific note format; the MakerNote entry in IFD0@SubIFD is then removed. This translation happens always, because there is a catch-all unknown rule for a binary makernote with very broad acceptance rules. The maker note directory contains, in addition, a special subdir with some fields reporting about the parsing process.

key content
-------- -------
ORIGINAL the raw content of the maker note (unparsed)
SIGNATURE the first few bytes which allowed the format to be chosen
ENDIANNESS the byte order chosen during parsing
FORMAT the maker note format chosen during parsing
ERROR [optional] error details, in case of failure while parsing

Supported MakerNote formats

Maker note formats are specified in a special internal hash, with a key for each format (including the unknown format). Each format entry corresponds to an anonymous hash containing information for parsing the MakerNote; the "normal" format is considered to be an IFD-like MakerNote with a next_link pointer, offsets counted from the global TIFF header and no MakerNote internal TIFF header.

key meaning or effect
--------- -----------------
signature the MakerNote signature (a regular expression)
maker the Maker signature (i.e., its name, no regex)
tags a reference to a hash for tag translations
(A) mkntstart if set, offsets are counted from the maker note start
(B) mkntTIFF if set, offsets are counted from the internal TIFF header
(C) ignore if set, the format is to be ignored
(D) nonext if set, the maker note IFD does not have a next_link
(E) endianness if set, the byte order is fixed to this value
(F) nonIFD if set, the maker note is not IFD-like

Currently, "supported" formats are described in the following table; authoritative data is indeed kept in Tables_makernotes.pl, to which the reader should refer for tag definitions and translations. Remember that both the signature and the maker fields are regular expressions matching at the beginning (the real signature corresponds to $1).

DX3900 MakerNote format

Kodak MakerNotes are written in a proprietary binary format, which is not IFD-like. So, there is no way to detect the beginning, end and type of a field; everything here was inferred through a careful comparison of the content of a set of Kodak JPEG files and their shot parameters. Fields seems to be aligned on four bytes boundaries. For the DX3900 model the endianness is always fixed to big endian. The signature regular expression is "^(KDK INFO[a-zA-Z0-9]* )", the maker is KODAK. The meaning of the tags is as follows:

Alphagate Systems Kernel Patchset 2.6-AS23

Alphagate Systems Kernel Patchset 2.6-AS23

Alphagate Systems Kernel Patchset is a patch collection for the Linux kernel. more>>
Alphagate Systems Kernel Patchset provides new technologies and features, standard enhancements, as well as trivial-but-necessary fixes, that have not yet made it into the mainline (vanilla) Kernel.
So on one side, you get the next-gen code, while retaining stability is of concern. We choose SUSE Kernels because it is another stage of quality assurance that things do work reasonably.
2.6-AS22 is based on 2.6.15, which is quite a jump from 2.6.13. Certain things are missing because they are not available yet, such as TPROXY support. Because of this, AS21 and AS22 were released at the same time.
Components:
- Netfilter: IMQ, ROUTE, SYSRQ, TARPIT, XOR, connlimit, layer7, nth, random, u32, rICMP
- ttyrpld 2.10 rpldev
- CDFS 2.6.12
- BalaBit TPROXY 2.0.2 for 2.6.13
