OpenTranscribe is software to aid musicians in transcribing music. It lets you slow down a part of the music without affecting pitch.
It also lets you loop over a section which has some tricky parts. OpenTranscribe was inspired by the Transcribe! software published by Seventh String Software.
The software provides looping and slowing down function that eases the process of transcribing music.
At first I planned for a GUI application, but lack the skills for it. So I have created a "library" on top of some other libraries that enables the basic functionality required. And I have coded a text based client which is adequate for my own use on top of the library. The text based client is named "tot" (Text Open Transcribe).
Check the INSTALL file for dependancies and TODO file for stuffs that I have in mind but have no time to implement.
Enhancements:
- MP3 is supported.

diald-top maintains a top-like listing of all packets and their time to live for use with diald. This project needs a new lead developer as the author no longer uses diald.
The concept behind diald-top is very simple. I got sick of trying to read a monitor pipe flying by on an extra VC, so I lusted after a more user friendly interface. As I like the interface in top, I decided to start with that kind of look. Fortunately, the designers of diald made my life rather easy by making the monitor pipe with an easy structure to implement.
I used ncurses for the interface to make my life simpler. This also has the additional effect of making this possible to run on any type of terminal. I have a VC4404 hooked up and this works great on it. As ncurses uses the terminfo database, it SHOULD work fine on any terminal with correct terminfo entries.
As of Version 0.0.1.1, I have added a limited command structure to diald-top. It is now possible to send diald commands to force/unforce, block/unblock and to bring the link up/down, and also to quit diald (immediately or when the link comes down) all from within diald-top. This makes the program a lot more useful.
The program also now reports the status of the link (UP, DOWN, CONNECT, START_LINK, STOP_LINK, DISCONNECT, CLOSE, etc). This can still use some work
but it is there now...
As of v2.0, diald-top now has the capability to run remotely, communicating to a custom server (also included in the package) that farms the contents of the monitor FIFO out to the remotely running clients. The communication is done using TCP/IP on port 1313 on the server. The identity of the user that is remotely running diald-top is verified using identd, and is then looked up in a configuration file (by userid, IP address, netmask).

You can play against the computer, or two players can play with one keyboard. There is also a Gravity Wars mode, where the two ships do not move, and the players repeatedly specify the direction and velocity of their missiles.

WMnet is a little WindowMaker dockapp network monitor I wrote for Linux.
It was originally inspired by that funky program tleds that blinks your keyboard LEDs in response to net traffic, but its a lot more entertaining than that nowadays.
I wrote this thing with low cpusage, low memory, and efficient use of screen real-estate in mind.
This little program polls network statistics and does a few things with the data it gets. It has small blinking lights for the rx and tx of IP packets, a digital speedometer of your polled stats current speed and a bar graph like xload et. al which has a tx speed graph from bottom-up and rx speed graph from the top-down.
The speedometer keeps track of the current speed per second and shows it in a color corresponding to which of rx or tx that has the highest speed at the moment. Also, the graph is drawn in a way that the highest speed is drawn on top of the other while the other is in the background. Depending on whether you are running ppp or ethernet
connections, you should set the -x parameter to about 1.5 times the high speed of your connection... the default is 6000 which will be stupid if youre on a ethernet line with a max of about 800 kb/sec.
Ive found the best for an ethernet line is -x 10000000 -l Having the logarithmic scale lets you see any speed of traffic from a telnet session to downloadeding something from across the hall at 600 kb/sec.
I tried to keep this is as small and efficient as possible CPU time on my K5 PR100 with the default poll time of 25000 microseconds (1 microsecond == 1 millionth of a second.) is less than 20 seconds per 24 hours Which is less than even wmmixer uses for me.
wmnet now uses drivers to get stats. The existing stat driver from previous versions has been moved to the ipfwadm driver. To get some generic IP accounting rules using ipfwadm:
