mod_auth_user_dir is a module for Apache 2, you can create private user folders using WebDAV protocol. Users have only permissions to access to their own directory. Without this module, a htaccess file must be created inside every user folder. This is completely unmanageable when the number of users is big.

We can build a file server accessible from Windows and Linux using WebDAV and a web server like Apache. Because the protocol is build upon HTTP, the server uses ports TCP 80 (HTTP) and TCP 443 (HTTPS). These ports are commonly open in firewalls without any other special requirement.

User authentication (login and password) are delegated to other Apache modules like mod_auth_ldap.

Installation:

download the binary or compile the source. It should work with all Apache 2.x versions.
install the module with /usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs -i -a -n auth_user_dir libmod_auth_user_dir.la
configure directory options in httpd.conf. Option AUTHUSERDIRROOT can be defined for every Directory, and it is the root folder where user folders will be created.
restart Apache: apachectl restart

Photo resize is a service menu for KDE that changes the selected pictures to the chosen size (550x550px, 500x500px, 450x450px,200x200px,150x150px).

The geometry will be hold. The script will size the pictures to their longer side.

Attention: The pictures will be overwritten!!

DocPerl provides a web-based interface to Perls Plain Old Documentation (POD). DocPerl project is a graphical easy to use interface to POD, automatically listing all installed modules on the local host, and any other nominated directories containing Perl files.

Rpmrestore allows the user to show the differences (user, group, mode, mtime, size) between a packages status on install and its current status. This act as an improvement of the functionality provied by the "rpm -V" command.
It also allows the user to restore the attributes to their original state (install state). Rpmrestore features a batch mode, an interactive mode, a logfile, and rollback.
Enhancements:
- This release can use 3 levels of configuration file (host, home, local file).
- Some bugs were fixed (localisation, rpm -V parsing, and a forgotten line feed).
- The code has been modified to follow Conway coding rules and improve maintainability.

Isaac Newton Organizer is a software that helps you organise your plans and work, and keep track of your progress. Isaac Newton Organizer allows you to add tasks for any date in a visually appealing interface, and helps you mark these tasks according to their status.

It also allows you to add "recurrent tasks" which are tasks that have a frequency associated with them. For example, you could add tasks representing your loved ones birthday, and make it recurrent for every year, so that you never forget the birthday any longer!

Ghost Diagrams is a project that takes sets of tiles and tries to find patterns into which they may be formed. The patterns it finds when given randomly chosen tiles are often surprising.

It turns out that tiling patterns are a form of computation of equal power to Turing machines, lambda calculus, and cellular automata. For example, here is a tileset implementing "Rule 110", a cellular automaton known to be capable of universal computation.

Considerations similar to the halting problem and Godels theorem apply. There is no upper limit to their capacity to surprise us. Furthermore, tiles have an intuitive quality that other forms of computation lack. You can see how they fit together.

Copy tags from file1.mp3 to file2.mp3, but with a different title tag.

The cddbtag tool

The cddbtag tool included can be used to modify tags in mp3 files, by using a CDDB server to get artist, album and tracks corresponding to the given mp3 files. Here are some examples of usage:

cddbtag file_01.mp3 file_02.mp3 ... file_n.mp3

Use the given files, in the given order, to build the discid, then query the CDDB server and, if information could be retrieved, set tags in the given .mp3 files.

cddbtag -t file_01.mp3 file_02.mp3 ... file_n.mp3

Same as above but run in test mode: it prints the information retrieved but does not write tags in the files.

cddbtag -s mycddbserver.org -p 4000 file_01.mp3 file_02.mp3 ... file_n.mp3

Here we specify a different CDDB server and port to connect to.
