Dream DRM Receiver 1.6.25
Dream DRM Receiver is an implementation of Digital Radio Mondiale. more>>
Digital Radio Mondiale, also known as DRM, is a new digital radio standard for the long-, medium- and short-wave ranges.
The standard was formed by a consortium in co-operation with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The new system offers the radio stations and new service providers access to the multimedia age with small bit rates for large target areas and long distances.
The bandwidth of a DRM bandpass signal is less than 20 kHz and the number of carriers used in the OFDM-modulation is relatively small (max. 460). These features motivate a real-time software implementation of a DRM-receiver on a conventional personal computer (PC) using the sound card as the input and output device. A long, medium and short wave front-end with an intermediate frequency (IF) between 5 kHz and 15 kHz is used to receive the DRM signal.
Any commercial front-end with an IF of 455 kHz should be usable by adding a 455 kHz to 12 kHz adaptor (assumed the receiver bandwidth is sufficient for a DRM signal).
With this software project we intend to implement a working software receiver with, at least, the basic features. Since this project is created at a university and the fundamental idea of such an institution is to teach and stimulate the creativity, this source-code is free under the GNU-General Public License (GPL).
Dream is a development project which uses the open source model to improve DRM technology. The main aim of this project is to implement and test new research results on an existing system, whereby the synchronization and channel estimation is of special interest.
The programming-language is C++. The code runs under Microsoft Windows and Linux. Start of the project was June 2001.
Although this software is going to be distributed as free software under the terms of the GPL this does not mean that its use is free of rights of others. The use may infringe third party IP and thus may not be legal in some countries.
The intended audience of the Dream software are people who are interested in how to decode a DRM stream and want to learn from the algorithms used in this software and people who want to help us improving the performance of the receiver and the source code.

Ask and Receive - Reciprocal Links 2.0
full-featured Reciprocal Link management system in PHP more>> Ask and Receive? is a full-featured Reciprocal Link management system intended to be installed on any web site which provides PHP language support.
Ask and Receive? Increases quality traffic to your site with out any cost and without any gimmicks or SPAM. Links to your web site from other sites is the best way to get your web site top listed in search engines. In addition, having outgoing links from your site which link to noteworthy and top listed sites is considered by SEOs (Search Engine Optimizers) as another excellent method to increase your sites ranking. With Ask and Receive? you let visitors automatically add their own links to your site and then approve which links you want to accept. Also, with Ask and Receive? you can add outgoing links directly to your own site, and nudge those site owners to return the favor by linking to you. Ask and Receive? has been designed with enhanced Search Engine Optimization features. This means that the link pages that are set up on your web site will be highly visible to search engines such as Google and will help your overall page rank index and page visibility, and will do so using proper and acceptable methods, considered good-practice by Google and other search engines.
With Ask and Receive? you can wait for visitors to enter their requests for reciprocal links, or you can "nudge" a site by adding a link to them first. This is the "being nice first" feature, and allows you to rapidly add a set of high-caliber out-going links on your site while simultaneously "nudging" those site owners to return the favor by linking back to your site: and Ask and Receive? generates and then emails to these other site owners all the HTML code needed for your link.
Contains over 50 user editable features in the rl_vars.php file. This file can either be edited with a text editor, or, depending on the configuration of your ISPs installation of PHP, can be edited from the Ask and Receive? Admin menu. All source code provided<<less

torrentocracy 0.0.11
torrentocracy is an RSS aggregator and bittorrent downloader for MythTV. more>>
Torrentocracy (pronounced like the word democracy) is the combination of RSS, bit torrent, your television and your remote control. In effect, it is what gives any properly motivated person or entity the ability to have their own TV station.
By running torrentocracy on a computer connected to your television, you not only become a viewer of any available content from the internet, but you also become a part of a vast grass roots media distribution network.
This is not about the illegal distribution of media, but rather its about enabling an entirely new way to receive the video which you watch on your TV.
If you ever wondered how and when your computer, the internet and your television would merge into one seemless device with access to anything and everything, then at this very moment the theme song from 2001: A Space Odyssey ("Also Sprach Zarathustra") should be resounding through your head.

Protoscope 0.7.2
Protoscope is a utility that aids Web developers by revealing the HTTP communication in their own applications. more>>
Protoscope is a utility that aids Web developers by revealing the HTTP communication in their own applications. It is a nice tool for Web developers who want to "look under the hood" as they develop.
Protoscope is somehow like a HTTP proxy serve and runs like it. It expects to receive HTTP requests from a Web client (such as your Web browser) that is configured to use a proxy.
Note: Most Web browsers allow you to conveniently select a proxy server to use, and the Protoscope Web site will eventually have instructions on how to achieve this for those who need assistance. If you write a HOWTO for configuring a particular browser to use Protoscope, I will gladly link to it. See http://shiflett.org/projects/protoscope/ for more information.
Protoscope forwards the HTTP requests to the origin server just as a proxy would and replies to the Web client with the servers responses. This is all transparent to the Web browser, and it does not affect your browsing in any way.
The difference is that Protoscope logs all communication in the log file that you configure it to use, so that you can examine this log file (or tail it) to examine the HTTP transactions.
In addition, version 0.7.1 added the option to have this information embedded into the HTML document itself. This makes debugging and related tasks extremely efficient while you are developing, and it can even help to avoid having to view source and risk the page being expired from cache or any other annoyances. Simply scroll to the bottom of the page anytime there is a question about the current
transaction. This is the recommended way to use Protoscope.

Text::RewriteRules 0.10
Text::RewriteRules Perl module contains a system to rewrite text using regexp-based rules. more>>
Text::RewriteRules Perl module contains a system to rewrite text using regexp-based rules.
SYNOPSIS
use Text::RewriteRules;
RULES email
.==> DOT
@==> AT
ENDRULES
email("ambs@cpan.org") # returns ambs AT cpan DOT org
RULES/m inc
(d+)=e=> $1+1
ENDRULE
inc("I saw 11 cats and 23 docs") # returns I saw 12 cats and 24 docs
ABSTRACT
This module uses a simplified syntax for regexp-based rules for rewriting text. You define a set of rules, and the system applies them until no more rule can be applied.
Two variants are provided:
traditional rewrite (RULES function):
while it is possible do substitute
| apply first substitution rule
cursor based rewrite (RULES/m function):
add a cursor to the begining of the string
while not reach end of string
| apply substitute just after cursor and advance cursor
| or advance cursor if no rule can be applied
A lot of computer science problems can be solved using rewriting rules.
Rewriting rules consist of mainly two parts: a regexp (LHS: Left Hand Side) that is matched with the text, and the string to use to substitute the content matched with the regexp (RHS: Right Hand Side).
Now, why dont use a simple substitute? Because we want to define a set of rules and match them again and again, until no more regexp of the LHS matches.
A point of discussion is the syntax to define this system. A brief discussion shown that some users would prefer a function to receive an hash with the rules, some other, prefer some syntax sugar.
The approach used is the last: we use Filter::Simple such that we can add a specific non-perl syntax inside the Perl script. This improves legibility of big rewriting rules sytems.
This documentation is divided in two parts: first we will see the reference of the module. Kind of, what it does, with a brief explanation. Follows a tutorial which will be growing through time and releases.

AF Architecture 1.0 RC6
Af-Arch is an N-tier development framework to quickly build high-quality distributed applications. more>>
Af-Arch is being developed to give GNU/Linux a new middle-ware for building enterprise managing applications, typically database oriented.
Af-Arch is a complete set of libraries and tools which allows to develop distribuited system especially designed to face problems about bussiness applications.
Actually, Af-Arch is really robust and stable, having systems installed on many environments. Af-Arch, at this moment, runs on GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows.
AF Architectures license schema is based on GPL and LGPL, allowing you to develop not only open source applications but also comercial applications without any royalty or fee.
Af-Arch is a strongly documented project, which is proved to work. Af-Arch keeps on evolving and growing its feature list allways keeping in mind productivity.
Enhancements:
- A new major stable release have come with many interesting features, library dependencies news, new API to make life easy and a bunch of work to make the library to be memory efficient.
- Af-Arch no longer depends on GDA library (http://www.gnome-db.org). Now AfGs, server side support for Af-Arch, includes built-in database abstraction support, implemented to fit better with the Af-Arch framework. For more details check the "libafgs" log below.
- Af-Arch platform now support three new return types: AfDalNodeData, AfDalStringData and AfDalDecimalData, which allows services to return a module node, a plain string and a decimal value as a result for the invocation.
- Af-Arch now support a new formal parameter service AfDalSetOf which implements set of items to be sent while the service is invoked.
- af-gen tool now support defining string literals that are separated by "+" sign, making it easy to write long SQL sentences.
- af-gen tool now allow to generate type definitions that could extend, making it possible to create a class hierarchy for types to be returned by services.
- libafdal core library now implements a better error reporting mechanism which allows to receive all errors generated while performing invocation at the reply process code.
- New reserved services have been added: element_peek_reference which allows to get the node associated to a module which is relationed through the 0..1 link.

Polar S710(i) (tested)
Polar S720i (tested)
Polar S725 (tested)
Polar S625x (tested, HRM files only)
Polar S410 (tested, HRM files only)
Other Polar monitors might work too, but I cant test them. User feedback is welcome.
Its also possible to view HRM exercise files (recorded with the Polar Software for Windows) with PolarViewer.
The application itself is not able to receive the exercise files from the Polar device and store it on the computer. Theres an excellent tool called s710 (written by Dave Bailey) which does this job.

DVB Driver Project 1.1.1
DVB Driver Project is a driver for DVB cards by many manufacturers. more>>
If you want to receive IP over Satellite and DVB on your Linux machine, you might want to buy one of these DVB PCI cards (see also the developer section for a list of card revisions supported by our driver):
* The Siemens DVB card - this is the card we developped the Linux drivers for (thanks to the Siemens guys). The Siemens DVB-S card is identical to the cards built by Hauppauge, Technotrend, Galaxis and Katek. We also support the Siemens DVB-C card.
* Hauppauge has released a low budget version of the Siemens card. The WinTV Nova has no MPEG2 decoder chip anymore. From driver version 0.8 on we support this card - you should be able to get a complete transport stream from it.
* Technotrend has developed a DVB-T card and our driver also supports this card (both, the version with DSP and the Nova card). Most DVB-S cards (except for Version 1.6) are also supported by us. The Technotrend DVB-C card (at least the newer version 2.1) is currently not working with our driver.
* The Telemann Skymedia card - never seen that card, but there are Linux drivers
* The Pentamedia cards - Linux drivers for a IP-over-Satellite card.

* The Telemann Skymedia card - never seen that card, but there are Linux drivers
* The Pentamedia cards - Linux drivers for a IP-over-Satellite card.
