RISE Projects goal is to produce software to efficiently manage and publish academic catalog information including programs, courses, and schedules.

RISE means Resources and Information for Success in Education.

Rubber is a program whose purpose is to handle all tasks related to the compilation of LaTeX documents. Rubber includes compiling the document itself, of course, enough times so that all references are defined, and running BibTeX to manage bibliographic references.

Automatic execution of dvips to produce PostScript documents is also included, as well as usage of pdfLaTeX to produce PDF documents.

The purpose of Rubber is to make the building of a document automated, from the source files to the final document file, replacing the work of a Makefile.

The basis is a routine that compiles a LaTeX source the right number of times to resolve all references and make all tables of contents, list of figures, and so on. On top of that, Rubber provides a modular system to handle various tasks needed apart from compilations.

This, for instance, includes processing bibliographic references or indices, as well as compilation or conversion of figures. Additionally, modules can perform a post-processing of the document (for instance to convert a DVI to PostScript or PDF) or even a preprocessing (useful when the LaTeX source is generated by another program, like cweave).

Dependency analysis is performed by parsing the source files, so that modifying any source, user package, graphics file or other dependency leads to appropriate compilations. Modules are triggered either explicitly using command-line options, or implicitly when the sources are parsed.

For instance, BibTeX support is activated whenever the source contains commands that generate a bibliography, graphics support is activated by usepackage{graphics} and similar commands, and so on. The modular approach allows any additional feature to be supported by simply writing a module to support it.

TurboPrint is a high-quality printer driver system for Linux built on existing standards (e.g. ghostscript). It is designed to produce maximum quality photo printouts as well as high-speed text documents.

TurboPrint provides printer drivers for almost every inkjet printer, e.g. Canon BJC / S, Epson Stylus Color & Photo, HP DeskJet. All printer features are supported. TurboPrint comes with its own color matching system "TrueMatch".

High quality color profiles ensure optimum color reproduction on all print media (glossy paper, inkjet paper, ...). A comfortable GUI configuration menu and a printer toolbox (head cleaning, alignment, ink quantity) are included.

TurboPrint can be easily integrated into the CUPS printing system. The FreeEdition of TurboPrint can be obtained free of charge. It contains almost the full functionality.

Texinfo is the official documentation format of the GNU project. It was invented by Richard Stallman and Bob Chassell many years ago, loosely based on Brian Reids Scribe and other formatting languages of the time. Texinfo project is used by many non-GNU projects as well.

Texinfo uses a single source file to produce output in a number of formats, both online and printed (dvi, html, info, pdf, xml, etc.). This means that instead of writing different documents for online information and another for a printed manual, you need write only one document. And when the work is revised, you need revise only that one document. The Texinfo system is well-integrated with GNU Emacs.

Taglog provides an electronic workbook, combining logging of time to projects with keeping a detailed diary of what you actually do. Individual work elements can be tagged by project, allowing you to produce, for example, a record of work on one particular project, even if your time is spread across a number of projects.

Work items can also be tagged by activity type - for example meeting, phone, programming etc - allowing you to analyse where your time is going by activity. Note that this activity type is orthogonal to the project axis, so that - for example - user support would be a project - in the larger sense WHAT you are doing - and phone calls to users - HOW you are doing it - would be the activity type.

PDCurses is a public domain curses library for Win32, DOS, OS/2 and X11, implementing most of the functions available in System V R4 curses. PDCurses for X11 supports most compilers for these platforms.
PDCurses is distributed principally as source code, but pre-compiled libraries are available for various compilers. See the downloads page for a list.
The X11 port of PDCurses, known as XCurses, allows existing text-mode curses programs to be re-compiled and linked with PDCurses to produce a native X11 application.

Sage is an OpenGL extensions library that uses SDL to obtain its function pointers in a cross-platform manner.

Sage source code is automatically generated from the glext.h header file available from the OpenGL site.
