Torrent Swapper is an open sourced sociable peer to peer file-sharing client based on the Bittorrent protocol that is ideal for high-speed distribution of large files that has a basic understanding of human friendships, of user tastes in content, and of Internet connectivity between users.
Torrent Swapper project supports simultaneous downloads, download queue, selected downloads in torrent package, fast-resume, speed limits, port mapping, disk cache, proxy, ip-filter, etc.

PeerProtect is an addon for Jays firewall that generates a file which contains all IP addresses from the RIAA and MPAA, etc. and will protect peer-to-peer programs from them. The Database can be copied from PEERGUARDIAN or IPPREFIX.

GtkDC is a client for the Direct Connect peer-to-peer network written in C using GTK+ widgets. GtkDC currently supports full hub management (chat and userlist) and search, but not transfers yet.

Osprey provides a peer-to-peer enabled content distribution system.
It is a metadata management system for software and document collections which enables local and distributed searching of materials. Items are available for download directly via an URL or indirectly via the BitTorrent peer-to-peer protocol.
Two components exist: the Osprey Web application and permaseed (permanent seed). The Web application includes metadata management for finding and exploring available content, as well as a BitTorrent tracker.

rstudio project is a GTK+ GUI that controls programs used in recording, CD mastering, and managing a SHOUTcast server.
The "Radio Station" referred to here is a Shoutcast server. Before you can play any music on the station, you need to either record your own, or use a Peer-to-Peer program or other source to download some music.
The GTK-Gnutella button starts a peer to peer fileshareing program called GTK-Gnutella where you can get a wide variety of music free.
Start Radio station starts up the shoutcast server and its source client, which feeds an mp3 playlist to the server for broadcast.
The playlist file is created when you press the "Close" button in the playlist manager. The playlist manager lets you view either the downloaded files from GTK-Gnutella, or the permanent collection of files. You can select a file, then move it to the permanent collection, only if you are viewing the downloaded files. For either set, you may delete a file, or play it.
Audacity is a very versatile recording tool that can be used to create original content, or to record from other sources, such as a Shoutcast.com station, (or even your own shoutcast station).
Shoutcast.com button starts firefox, with the url of http://www.shoutcast.com so that you may listen to other shoutcast stations, or your own.
Kill XMMS stops any running xmms.
Quit exits rstudio.
GTK-Gnutella starts the P-2-P filesharing system.
K3B can be used to master audio CDs, or even mp3 data CDs that can be played on an mp3-compatible cd player or dvd player.
Enhancements:

JXTA platform is an open network computing platform designed for peer-to-peer (P2P) computing. The JXTA platform standardizes the manner in which peers:
- Discover other peers
- Advertise Peer resources (Peer, PeerGroup, Service and Pipe Advertisements)
- Communicate with each other (Pipes)
- Cooperate with each other to form secure peer groups (group membership)
The Platform project is a Java Standard Edition reference implementation of the JXTA protocols.
The Platform project was the original JXTA implementation and was built in Java, because Java enabled us to rapidly prototype and test new ideas and develop a more robust implementation.
Java is available on most client platforms (Unix, Windows, MacOS X, etc.) and allows us to reach the maximum number of potential users.

The Circle is an open source scalable decentralized peer to peer application. What does that mean? Well, theres no central authority running the show. No entry taxes either, no censorship, and (in theory) no weak point which can break the whole system. No one even owns the source code. There is a network, even if there are a few people which uses this program.

The Circle allows you to :

* Send instant messages and chat IRC-style
* Put together your own personalized, trust based news service
* Proxy Debian package downloads

The Circle is written in Python. It runs on Linux and Windows. (in fact, there is very little operating system specific code, so it will most likely work on any system that supports Python).

At the core of the Circle is a decentralized hashtable, or "Chord". This table allows users to search for files in logarithmic time, based on keywords. This means that the Circle does not have the scalability problems of Gnutella style network (such as Kazaa, eDonkey), while also avoiding the need for a central server and therefore a single point of failure. Details of its operation are given in the "Technical Details" section below.

The Circle does have the ability to post fully anonymous news a la Freenet. However, the file-sharing protocol isnt entirely anonymous. People will be able to work out your IP address.

In order to protect user privacy, the Circle includes a Digital Rights Management system. Although everybody can search your files by their keywords, you may choose which users are authorized to download them. An unauthorized third party has access only to the names of your files, not to their content. Needless to say, we expect you to use this system in order to prevent copyright infringement, while allowing private copy.

Note: If we become aware that you are trying to share snuff or child pornography, we will be able to work out your IP and from that your location and identity, and report you to the police and/or your ISP. Snuff and child pornography are things we think any reasonable person considers to be evil (its an issue quite separate from the debate over copyright).
