JavaMatch 0.2

JavaMatch 0.2

JavaMatch provides a match engine for Java data structures. more>>
JavaMatch provides a match engine for Java data structures.

JavaMatch is an engine that can search inside runtime Java data structures and look for objects that best match the criteria that you specify.

JavaMatch is a generic match engine, not targeted at a specific domain. It can be applied to any runtime data structure, and the extensive query mechanism allows for highly customizable tuning of your searches.

JavaMatch can be integrated with object- relational mapping tools. This allows you to match inside databases.

JavaMatchs functionality compared to "normal" database searching can be described by using an analogy:

If you search for something in Google, you dont just see the pages that exactly match your search query, youll also get the results that best match the search query (unless you use the "+"-syntax).

JavaMatch provides this Google-like functionality, but then applied to a Java data structure: It looks for the objects that best match the query: Out of the entire data set, it returns the top-10 (or more, if you specify so) of the best matching objects.

Hatchet 0.8.1 RC1

Hatchet 0.8.1 RC1

Hatchet provides a log parser for OpenBSDs PF. more>>
Hatchet provides a log parser for OpenBSDs PF.
Hatchet is a log parsing/presentation program written for OpenBSDs PF logs. Hatchet should be useful to the typical PF administrator who wishes to review their PF logs in a chronological order via a graphical (web) interface. Hatchet archives the logs so that you can search past events. It also allows you to sort by column, so that you may isolate traffic by source or destination address, service, rule number, etc. Additionally, it provides external links to perform DNS queries on source addresses and service quries from SANS.
Hatchet uses a series of Perl regexes to match entries from the pflog logs. The log entries are stored in a SQLite database file, allowing for highly dynamic queries and statistics. If it finds one it doesnt have a match for, it will kick off an email to the system administrator (root@localhost) with the details. Its possible to install the web interface on a separate webserver, the INSTALL document covers each task and where it should be performed. Although Hatchet uses SQLite, it does not require installation of the full SQLite "suite", only the DBD::SQLite module, which incorporates the necessary libraries.
Hopefully you find this a useful, clean log viewing utility. I plan to incorporate new features eventually, particularly more advanced reporting, but time will tell. I happily accept feature requests, but I dont intend to incorporate features that would otherwise be best handled the "OpenBSD way". In other words, I wont add a PF ruleset editor, dont ask.
Enhancements:
- Reorganization and fixes of all Docs/*.
- Moved all cgi-bin/* to the default /cgi-bin/.
- Removed alt location option for create_db.pl.
- Moved all variables to universal config file (/etc/hatchet.conf).
- Fixed the "Transaction aborted" bug in hatchet.
- Regex additions for HSRP, ICMP, SNMP, and DNS replies.

The Linux Memory Game 0.6c

The Linux Memory Game project is a childrens (and adults) game based on the card game. more>>
The Linux Memory Game project is a childrens (and adults) game based on the card game.
The Linux Memory Game is an X11 game using GTK+ library for children ages 3 and up. It is a lot more than the card game "Memory".
It has five skill levels, the higher ones are challenging to adults as well. Additionally, one can choose from the menu to match 2 cards or 3 cards, or match different cards.
This last "different card" mode can be a very good teaching tool for teaching languages, concepts, or association.
Main features:
- Extensible - add new images yourself without having to make changes to the program.
- Five skill levels appropriate for the youngest and the ones with the best brains.
- Can play two card matching or three card matching (more challenging!)
- Can set to match different cards. This can be used with apropriately designed pictures to teach children (or adults) words, concepts, or another language.
Enhancements:
- Fixed overflow bug in pixmaps_jump.

OSSP lmtp2nntp 1.4.1

OSSP lmtp2nntp 1.4.1

The OSSP lmtp2nntp program is an LMTP service. more>>
The OSSP lmtp2nntp program is an LMTP service for use in conjunction with a Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) like Sendmail or Postfix, providing a reliable real-time mail to news gateway.

Input messages get their headers slightly reformatted to match Usenet news article format. The article is then posted or feeded into a remote NNTP service (like INN). Delivery must take place immediately or the transaction fails.

OSSP lmtp2nntp relies on the queueing capabilities of the MTA in order to provide a fully reliable service. For this the program returns proper delivery status notification which indicates successful completed action, persistent transient failure or permanent failure.

The Test::Cmd module provides a low-level framework for portable automated testing of executable commands and scripts (in any language, not just Perl), especially commands and scripts that interact with the file system.

The Test::Cmd module makes no assumptions about what constitutes a successful or failed test. Attempting to read a file that doesnt exist, for example, may or may not be an error, depending on the software being tested.

Consequently, no Test::Cmd methods (including the new() method) exit, die or throw any other sorts of exceptions (but they all do return useful error indications). Exceptions or other error status should be handled by a higher layer: a subclass of Test::Cmd, or another testing framework such as the Test or Test::Simple Perl modules, or by the test itself.
(That said, see the Test::Cmd::Common module if you want a similar module that provides exception handling, either to use directly in your own tests, or as an example of how to use Test::Cmd.)

In addition to running tests and evaluating conditions, the Test::Cmd module manages and cleans up one or more temporary workspace directories, and provides methods for creating files and directories in those workspace directories from in-line data (that is, here-documents), allowing tests to be completely self-contained. When used in conjunction with another testing framework, the Test::Cmd module can function as a fixture (common startup code for multiple tests) for simple management of command execution and temporary workspaces.

The Test::Cmd module inherits File::Spec methods (file_name_is_absolute(), catfile(), etc.) to support writing tests portably across a variety of operating and file systems.

A Test::Cmd environment object is created via the usual invocation:

$test = Test::Cmd->new();

Arguments to the Test::Cmd::new method are keyword-value pairs that may be used to initialize the object, typically by invoking the same-named method as the keyword.

Solid Of Rotation 1.3.0

Solid Of Rotation 1.3.0

Solid Of Rotation is a 3D graphic editor. more>>
There is quite a bit of history on this item. One of the assignments in a computer graphics course at the University of Victoria was to rotate a number of Bezier curves around an axis and display the result in 3D using a single light source.

This was on Sun Sparcs using X. Since then the program has mutated to match my platform preference at a given time (DOS, Windows, Linux).

The latest mutation has been to SDL/OpenGL and the result runs happily on Linux and Windows. Screenshot junkies might find the following of interest:

pyDirStat 0.9.15

pyDirStat 0.9.15

pyDirStat is a small tool to view statistical information about a directory. more>>
pyDirStat is a small tool to view statistical information about a directory.

It will generate a view of all files contained in a directory (and subdirectories) with rectangles.

Each rectangle area is proportional to file size. Its a perfect tool to view disk usage with graphics.

Configuration:

You can now configure pydirstat. pds-config.py is provided to help creating configuration file. It will ask few questions, and will write configuration file.
In the configuration file, you will be able to change color associations.

First find the configuration file by launching pds-config.py and answering questions. At the end, the configuration filename will be prompted.
Youll find a section options containing your answers. And then youll find several type:... sections. Those sections define the "type" associated to each file. A type is just a string like image or sound. Then there is the section color that define the color associated to a file type.

There is four type: section.
type:extension : Every file ending by this extension will have the associated type. This is case sensitive. Most of unix filenames will be recognized by this section.
type:extensionlower : This is the same section exept that the exentension is lowercased (so asf will match asf and ASF). Most of Windows filenames will be recognized by this section.
type:exactmatch : The whole file should be equal to the key. Exemple : "core" file under unix.
type:contain : The file contains the key. Exemple : ".so." to match linux libraries.
Note for windows users: If this is too complex, just edit the type:extensionlower and the color sections.
Note for unix users: If this is too complex, just edit the type:extension and the color sections.
