killppp 1.0
killppp purpose is to kill ppp pid after n time of no traffic. more>>
killppp purpose is to kill ppp pid after n time of no traffic. This is especially useful for dial-up users who pay per time-unit of being connected. The typical use for it, is to start a large download along with killppp and go away. The script will shut down ppp after the downloading is done. Thus saving unnecessary cost of unused network connectivity.
Depending on how your linux is configured you may need to be root to have the right to kill a ppp process and it may have to be the ppp daemon (pppd).
To find the pid of your ppp process type: ps aux | grep ppp
How this script works? Once activated, killppp checks every minute for network traffic on the ppp0 device. As long as data is passing through, killppp does nothing. Upon no traffic killppp starts counting time until it reaches the specified time and kills the ppp process.
killppp [-hl] < pid > < n >s|m|h|d
Options:
< pid >, process ID
< n >s|m|h|d, n seconds|minutes|hours|days of no traffic
-h, usage and options (this help)
-m, manual

laptop 1.0
laptop is a small theme designed to show the battery laptop status. more>>
laptop is a small theme designed to show the battery laptop status.
The theme look is based on aSensors theme. The basic idea, the battery icons and some of the code is from the sk_battery applet. Other parts are taken from the superkaramba examples.
After I made the first parts, I realized there is too much space left on the panel, so I put a mixer on the widget and a penguin to kill the useless applets (when on battery, I usually dont have internet connection, so I dont need eg. kopete and kcheckgmail).
Note that the penguin-menu appears only when the widget is locked.
I planned first this penguin to hibernate the computer, but this can be done using KLaptop, so it would b useless. If you want to include this feature, Ive left the icon in the pics directory, you can modify the code, eg. by uncommenting and modifying the last line in laptop.theme.
Dont forget to modify the paths for the icons in laptop.py!

Jet Set Willy X 20061231
Jet Set Willy X is a game for Sinclair ZX Spectrum computer, playable on emulators. more>>
Jet Set Willy X is a game for Sinclair ZX Spectrum computer, playable on emulators. Jet Set Willy X is heavily inspired by Jet Set Willy.
There are no guardians and ropes, but the animation is twice as fast, absolutely smooth, and there is a 2-channel background tune.
The rooms are 20 characters high instead of 16, and can have a more complicated combination of graphics characters. There are 69 rooms and over 390 items to collect.
Differences from Jet Set Willy
- There are no guardians, however there are places where you are probably going to swear even without them.
- The guy walks twice as fast, the animation is smooth 50Hz instead of 25Hz, the guy has twice as much positions and the sprites are a bit different
- There are no ropes
- There is a 2-channel tune instead of 1-channel
- The guy can fall through a 1-character hole
- The rooms are 20 chars high instead of 16
- There are much more available different characters in one room
- The attributes in the room are not used to encode meaning of the characters, they can be set arbitrarily
- What happens after the game is completed is a bit more fun
- The jump looks a bit different
- When the guy enters a room from sideways, he doesnt start 1 character away from the edge, but at the edge
- The kill and collect sounds are different
- The kill and collect events generate an effect in the border
- The main voice of the tune continues playing during the kill or collect sound
- The initial scrolling of text is pixel-smooth
- There are 69 rooms and over 390 items to collect
The screenshot and the description are released under the terms of GFDL license.

MythDora 3.2
MythDora is now using FC5 along with MythTV-0.20 all on DVD. more>>
MythDora 3.0 is now using FC5 along with MythTV-0.20 all on DVD. This DVD will install on various PVR builds. A few changes have been made since the 2.32 version. Hopefully good ones. One big change is that version 3.0 now runs on an SMP kernel. Another big change is that MythDora-3.0 now uses KDE and goes onto a DVD rather than a CD. With change and additions, things just couldnt fit on a CD any longer. The ISO size isnt too much bigger, about 940mb total.
There will no longer be any need for a Unichrome version as the needed bits are now in the modular Xorg-7.0. What is now being used is a single Openchrome Via rpm from the Epia repository at washington.kelkoo.net. This should be enough to allow hardware acceleration for Epia mainboards and S3 video card users.
Please read the F.A.Q. if you have any initial questions. Also look over the README file thats located on your disk. This is where you will find instructions on certain parts of MythDora. There is also an Install Notes at the top of this page which gives you a general idea of how to set things up in mythtvsetup.
MythDora 3.0 uses an auto installer that allows your system to install only on the first hard drive and not on your remaining physical hard drives. The installer uses LVM which will allow you to add another HD to your volume group if you so choose.
For those of you new to MythDora, the easiest way to install would be to use the auto install feature. This will install every package on the disk, automatically format your disk(s), create a user mythtv, setup networking, setup MythTV etc., all on the fly. When mythtvsetup finishes, mythfilldatabase will automatically start but only if you have chosen an all-in-one setup and have a valid Data Direct subscription. XMLTV users will need to run mythfilldatabase --manual in the provided xterm screen if need be. After that a reboot will take place as this seems to install your tuner card(s) a little better.
Please be sure to make the appropriate changes in the frontend setup in order for things to work correctly. This may include sound working properly, bitrate adjustment, resolution or changing channels etc.
One thing you need to make sure of is when you install in either auto or custom, please make sure you disable selinux during install !!!
Its also recommended that you do not do an "apt-get dist-upgrade" , "apt-get upgrade" or "yum upgrade" as you run the risk of breaking something. You have been warned!!.
I really want to thank those of you who gave me feedback during the beta testing. This couldnt have been done without. I really appreciate it.
Also I want to thank one of our members here, inm8, for creating the kickass new logo for MythDora. He did an outstanding job and I dont think youll be disappointed. I also added in some more eye candy for your viewing pleasure.
Enhancements:
This is a second bugfix release to version 3.0. Hopefully the last. This is mainly to give Nvidia users the chance to install Legacy drivers for older video cards. I also included a new mythstreamtv rpm with corrected code that should allow you to kill the vlc stream now. Thanks to Jeffrey Kosowsky.
- Added older 8776 Nvidia drivers
- Corrected mythstreamtv
- Updated to latest stable kernel 2.6.18-1.2257.fc5smp
- Updated to MythTV 0.20-148
- Updated ivtv 0.8.2-123
- Added two new remotes (Nebula & Technisat)

squidwall 0.5
Squidwall is a fast, small, and secure squid redirector. more>>
Squidwall is a fast, small, and secure squid redirector. It is written with security in mind.
squidwall enables the administrator to build an easy to use Web interface for controlling user-, host-, or IP-based access to squid. It also does pass-through antivirus scanning with clamav.
Main features:
- user-based accesscontrol to squid (the internet)
- host/ip based accesscontrol to squid
- pass-through antivirus scanning with clamav
- squidwall and squid doesnt need a restart or kill -HUP, if sth. is changed within the acls of squidwall
- the acls are two directories, which have empty files named by these convention:
- +filename -> access ok
- -filename -> access denied
- ?filename -> access ok, but scanned
Enhancements:
- Support for global filtering options, the new url_rewrite_concurrency feature of squid 2.6, and a small memcache which remembers old redirections were added.
- Changing the whole configuration on the fly without restarting squid is now also possible.
- Everything can be changed in /etc/squidwall/control, just like qmail.
- A lot other improvements and fixes were made.

You Only Live Once is a Seven Day Roguelike game.
Main features:
- Extremely tactical combat. There is no randomness in combat. You always hit and always do full damage. This means that careful placement is the difference between success and failure.
- Heavy on plot and characterization. A story is told. It is not just kill things for no reason. (If you want to just kill things for no reason, POWDER is recommended)
- Quick to complete. You can likely fully explore and enjoy the game in an hour or two. You are then free to get on with your life.
Enhancements:
- Version 005 sees the mac-curses build not be distributed. Instead, youll have to content yourself by compiling it by hand out of the macport directory.

VoR 0.5.3
VoR is an exciting Free Software video game, licensed under the GNU GPL. more>>
VoR is an exciting Free Software video game, licensed under the GNU GPL. It is developed on GNU Linux but we occasionally release a Windoze binary.
Variations on Rockdodger (VoR) is a fork of Paul Holts little gem Rock Dodger, which has now accumulated enough differences to be worth releasing on its own. The premise is simple: dodge the rocks until you die.
No shields, no weapons, no bonus lives, just pure rockdodgin fun for your spare moments. VoR has ray-traced rocks, a free-scrolling screen, and "real" physics for your ship. Warning: this game is, if anything, harder than the original. It is intended to be a quickie game to kill a few spare moments here and there, not an epic space adventure.
Please contact Jason Woofenden if you could make a Mac binary.

Warning: this game is, if anything, harder than the original. It is intended to be a quickie game to kill a few spare moments here and there, not an epic space adventure.
