Page Title Eraser 0.6.3

Page Title Eraser 0.6.3

Page Title Eraser is a Firefox extension which provides more privacy by hiding the title and icon of a selected tab. more>>
Page Title Eraser is a Firefox extension which provides more privacy at your workplace by hiding the title and icon of a selected tab.

I always open several tabs in a Firefox window, but I would not like other people see some of tabs labels. So I wrote the PTE extension which helps me to have such feature. I hope that it can be useful for office people.

The Page Title Eraser adds menu item to the page context menu and "Tools" menu items. "Right-click" menu includes a "Hide title" menu item now. Using this item you can hide/show tab and window titles and tab icon. Each tab has its independent instance of this item.

Since version 0.3.0 you can hide or show all tabs labels using "Hide all titles" menu item. Using the "Options" window you can tell PTE to hide/show the icons of tabs as well as the titles of tabs (see screenshots).

Toolbar button and hot key combination (Ctrl + Shift + H) are also available.

Translations included: Arabic, Arabic (Saudi Arabia), Chinese (Traditional), Croatian, Dutch (NL), English, French, Italian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, Slovak, Spanish (Spain).

Allows you to tweak your browsers titlebar text more>>
Titlebar Tweaks 1.8.3.7 is yet another excellent utility you should not miss. It is actually a Firefox extension that allows you to tweak your browsers titlebar text.

  • Display only the browser name or page title
  • Replace the browser name in the titlebar with your own text

Major Features:

  1. Compatible with Mozilla Firefox 2.0.
  2. Enables you to switch the order of the browser name and document title in the browser's titlebar, or remove one of the two entries.
  3. Allows you to change the browser name in the titlebar.

Enhancements:

  • Added "Blank Page" to display for web page titles that are blank.

Business::Associates::Stylesheet is a Perl information on the Associates XSLT stylesheets and how to modify the data processing. more>>
Business::Associates::Stylesheet is a Perl information on the Associates XSLT stylesheets and how to modify the data processing.

THE PROCESSING MODEL

Before we get going on the details, let us first remind ourselves on what we might call the processing model of the Associates package.

The first step is to retrieve the raw XML data from Amazon.com (or, technically, from the local cache if we already have it). This is structured data that describes the (currently) fifteen best-selling titles at Amazon.com for the selection criteria we have chosen. Those criteria can be keyword searches or a look-up of a specific category of product, and are typically chosen by the HTML editor or by the code that generates the HTML. The perl code provided by this package retrieves the XML.

The second step is to transform this raw XML into a format that the device responsible for the visual display can handle. In our case, that device is ultimately the web browser, so we need to transform the XML data into HTML or xhtml data. However, the same process model could be used to render the data in another format, say for inclusion to a postscript document. This data transformation is done used XSLT, a standard and a very powerful tool for transforming XML documents. This is the subject of this document.

The third step is the visual formatting of the data. At this stage we have the data in a format that the visual display device can understand, and we need to tell it of the details of the formatting. In out model and for HTML (or xhtml) output, that is done using traditional Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). That is the topic of a separate document and concerns us only so far as it reminds us that we need to be able to identify each element type in the output such that the CSS designer can say, for example, "lets have all book titles in red text". In HTML, this identification is done by defining class attributes.

RefSense 0.5

RefSense 0.5

RefSense is the name of both a web interface to PubMed, and a set of command line tools for accessing PubMed. more>>
RefSense is the name of both a web interface to PubMed, and a set of command line tools for accessing PubMed. RefSense was previously distributed as Biblio.

The web interface provides easy access to PubMeds data as well as some useful tools not found at the actual PubMed site.

The command line tools allow you to search PubMed from a terminal (such as xterm), retrieve web pages or PDFs, find related articles, convert to BibTeX, and much more by only using a keyboard. And you can get convenient word completion on titles, author names, etc, as well!

Usage:

The following commands are available:

pmsearch
Search Medline and have article identifiers (PMID) returned.

pmid2text
Take PMIDs (on the command line or from STDIN) and retrieve the entries as text in a couple of formats, including partial HTML for building web pages with.

pmid2bibtex
Works like pmid2text, but writes BibTeX records to STDOUT.

pubmed
This is a simple script that essentially executes pmsearch search terms | pmid2text -a.

pmid2seq
Download sequences from PubMed that are refereced, linked, to an article.

pmid2related
Retrieve a list of articles related to your input PMIDs.

pmcomplete
Interface RefSense commands with the completion system in Bash.

Gtk::CListModel 0.7009

Gtk::CListModel 0.7009

Gtk::CListModel is a simple data model with Gtk::Clist views. more>>
Gtk::CListModel is a simple data model with Gtk::Clist views.

SINOPSYS
my $model = tie @data, Gtk::CListModel,
titles => ["Fruit", "Price", "Quantity"];
# all data manipulation is done on @data now
push @data, ["Oranges", 5, 16];
# Create a view (a Gtk::Clist widget) to represent the data
# Include only some of the data in the view (fruit type and price)
# Also, do not include fruits that cost more than 6 price units.
my $clist = $model->create_view(main,
titles => [Fruit, Price],
filter => sub {$_[1] > 6? () : @_});

Gtk::CListModel lets you keep your data in a perl array and easily create a numer of different views on that data using Gtk::CList widgets. The views can show only some of the columns, or a subset of the data or even munge the data with user-defined filters.

All the data manipulations will be performed on a tied array and the changes will be propagated to the views created for that data.

To create the model use tie:

my $model = tie @data, Gtk::CListModel,
titles => ["head1", "head2",...];

The titles attribute should be an array reference with the titles of the columns of data. They will be used also for the default titles in the views.

You can also provide the initial data using the data attribute. Remember that the data elements you insert and retreive from the @data array are array references with as many items as the columns in the model. The order is the one defined by the titles attribute.

Later you can manipulate the @data array with the usual perl array operators, push, splice and so on.

METHODS

create_view ($name[, %options])

Create a Gtk::Clist widget that represents the data in the model. The name can be used later to disconnect the view from the data.

Options can be one of the following:

titles

An array reference of the titles of the columns to display in the list in the order they should appear in the view. The default is the titles specified at the model creation.

filter

A function that can manipulate the data just before it is inserted in the Gtk::CList. The function will receive the data and can either make a copy and modify the data or return an empty list. In the latter case the data will not be added to the view or, if the corresponding row was already present, it will be removed from the view.

postfilter

A function that receives the view, the row and the data that was just inserted/modified in the view. By default all the data is inserted in the views as text. This filter can be used to display pixmaps, for example or do any other kind of manipulations on the Gtk::CList row.

remove_view ($name)

Disconnect the named view from the data. The current data displayed in the view will not be affected, but changes in the model will not propagate to this view anymore.

map_row ($clist, $row)

Get the index in the data array cooresponding to the row displayed in the Gtk::CList widget.
