Jackess 1.1.6

Jackess 1.1.6

Jackcess project is a pure Java library for reading from and writing to MS Access databases. more>>
Jackcess project is a pure Java library for reading from and writing to MS Access databases. It is not an application. There is no GUI.
Its a library, intended for other developers to use to build Java applications. Jackcess is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License. Take a look at our Frequently Asked Questions for more info.
Enhancements:
- Handling of skipped rows has been fixed.
- When reading multi-page table def, the buffer is flipped before parsing.
- Table names are treated as case insensitive; stored table names are used when instantiating tables.
- Databases and tables are iterable.
- Uppercase names are used when adding text columns to indexes, which fixes a long standing problem with table names starting with lowercase characters (and other situations where tables could not be opened in Access).
- A hack that forced every table name to have an uppercase first character has been removed.
- Reading multi-page long binary values has been implemented.

Anagram Solver 0.1

Anagram Solver 0.1

Anagram Solver is a simple anagram solver program. more>>
Anagram Solver is a simple anagram solver program.

You can use it against any spelling dictionary that is formatted:

- one word per line
- in alphabetical order

If its not in alphabetical order, you could send it through pipe.

The basic algorithm tries all possible combinations of a word, in such a way that the combinations are generated in alphabetical order.

It also knows the next real word in the list, so it can tell whether or not it is futile to pursue a certain node. These optimizations make it possible for it to solve a 8+ letter word in a few seconds

To use it, simply point it to your aspell dictionary file, usually located in /usr/share/dict/linux.words

Keep Listening 0.1.1

Keep Listening 0.1.1

The project is a simple program using xine code from mplayer (thanks!) to download BBC Listen Again streams. more>>
The project is a simple program using xine code from mplayer (thanks!) to download BBC Listen Again streams.
Simply open the "Listen with External Real Player" links with this program and you can save the Real audio file. Play it with mplayer, vlc, or even Real Player (their linux player is actually quite good amazingly).
To build it you just need Qt 4. If it doesnt work, you might want to generate mplayers config.h for your system, and then copy it over libreal/config.h
Ive also included a binary that might possible work if you are lucky, but this is linux so it probably wont.
Anyway, enjoy! Also Mark Thomas - legend.
PS: If someone wants to make some packages that automatically do the association thing, that would be great!
PPS: Progress bar is approximate - it will take as long to download as the programme lasts.
To install, do something like:
qmake
make
sudo make install
Then (for KDE):
Go to a BBC listen again stream. Download the .ram file linked to by "Listen in External Real Player".
Right click it->properties->Type: Edit file type->Add Application->/usr/bin/keeplistening
Enhancements:
- Fixed compilation errors (kdevelop assumed absolute paths)
- Close on errors
- Added auto-close checkbox (on by default)
- Ignore lines starting with ## in ram files.

system-config-printer 0.7.72

system-config-printer 0.7.72

system-config-printer purpose is to configure a CUPS server (often the local machine) using the CUPS API. more>>
system-config-printer purpose is to configure a CUPS server (often the local machine) using the CUPS API. The tool is written in Python, using pygtk for the graphical parts and with some Python bindings (pycups) for the CUPS API.
It is largely the same as using the CUPS web interface for configuring printers, but has the advantage of being a native application rather than a web page. It appears in the Fedora menu under System -> Administration -> Printing.
As a result of using the CUPS API the tool is able to configure remote CUPS instances and is not limited to configuring CUPS on the local machine. The CUPS library providing the API uses HTTP and IPP to communicate with the CUPS server.
Enhancements:
- Several improvements for the new-printer wizard have been made, and assorted bugs have been fixed.
