Tab is a typesetter for lute tablature, for renaissance and baroque lutes and theorboes, in French and Italian notation. It runs on many computers but is developed on the linux operating system. Tab is a command line or "dos" program and you cant use the mouse.
You use tab in conjunction with a word processor or editor program and a PostScript display/printing program (like Ghostview). You edit a plain text file with special commands to enter the lute tablature, then you run tab to convert that input into PostScript output that you can print or display with the right program. Because I, as a programmer, have not spent my time on a fancy user interface, I have been able to exend the formatting capabilities of my program. There are other tablature programs that you can use to enter music and save in tab format to take advantage of tabs high quality fonts and proportional spacing.

Balayer is yet another web browser. more>>
Only HTML, text and images are rendered. It has the peculiarity to be entirely written in Python, though based on many C-written pieces.
The idea of it came because I like Operas way of browsing, but it is too buggy on Linux, so when I saw someone had written a HTML rendering widget with rather few dependencies, I decided to write my own web browser.
This has led me to write other software pieces that are needed to run balayer for the most part: python-gdkinput, python-cschtml, gladepyc. The latter was independant from Balayer at start, but finally I decided that Balayer would be a good demonstration for it; At the same time, I had to implement features in gladepyc to implement Balayer, so they both benefitted from each other.
Main features:
- Single window navigation: web pages are displayed in a notebook rather than in separate Windows.
- Clicking on a link displays the new page systematically in a new tab, and does not focus it automatically. This is to ease parallel loading of pages.
- Non-blocking loading: you can continue viewing pages while documents and images are loading.
- Bookmark manager: shows and manage separate bookmark trees for each supported bookmark format. No native bookmark format, it uses others. Planned: Opera, Lynx, Netscape.
- Should be quite fast and light (memory and disk footprint); At least it is on my host.

FlashBack is a flashcard scheduler based on a variant of Sebastian Leitners method.
It allows one to create and review simple (text only) flash cards. It supports Unicode and complex scripts (via Pango). A simple, tab-separated cardfile format is used.
Language learning Its important to realise that no sophisticated flashcards review scheduling alone can teach you the language: use FlashBack or some other flashcards software to drill first couple of hundreds of words and keep reading simple texts until you get used to the language and are able to read fast enough to train the languages only by reading.

ChromaTabs Plus 2.2 offers you an excellent and very useful product which can make tabs more readily identifiable by tinting each tab a different color depending on the website loaded.
ChromaTabs Plus is the Firefox 3.0-3.5 compatible continuation of the original ChromaTabs 2.0 extension. By default, colors are matched to the sites favicon. Alternatively, tabs may be assigned a site-specific random color. ChromaTabs Plus is a continuation of 2.0 by Justin Dolske.
Major Features:
- Firefox 3.5 support
- New "most frequent color" mode. By default, this is not enabled. Please try it out and let me know if you would like to see this made the default. As you'll see in the screen shots, this mode provides richer, less "muddy" colors compared to the old "average icon color" method.
- "Average icon color" is the new default setting, instead of the random "hash based" default in the previous versions.
- Transparent Close Tab buttons.

TabLaunch is a simple and lightweight but cool-looking X application launch bar based on YeahLaunch. It displays a user-specified list of applications as tabs along the top of the screen.
The user can specify an x coordinate offset to position the launch bar or right-align it. The launch bar becomes hidden after a specified delay.
Each tab can be displayed as text or an icon. Tabs are "enlarged" or zoomed-in when the mouse is over a tab. Imlib or Imlib2 can be used to show and enlarge icons.
