KAddressBook to iPod Synchronisation lets you synchronise your KAddressBook to your iPod by executing this simple script.

The script makes a few modifications to the addressbook file to make it readable by the iPod.

Amarok recently released the ability to synchonise music to your iPod, so I was finally able to stop using iTunes to transfer my songs. However I was still stuck using the Mac to sync my addressbook.

Well not anymore, after some quick poking around, and a simple script, I am now able to transfer my complete KDE addressbook (including photo), with a simple command line.

Just mount the ipod, and execute the script, passing the ipod’s root directory as a parameter. That’s it! The script loads your KDE addressbook, makes a few simple modifications the iPod requires, and copies it across.

OpenChronicle is a real world blogging application with basic functionality similar to websites such as Blogger, WordPress, LiveJournal and MySpace.

VNCAudio allows remote sound support to be added to VNC on a per-desktop basis by emulating an OSS compatible driver at the kernel level and virtualizing it per-user. The reasoning for a per-UID basis is that resource tracking across multiple processes launched off a VNC desktop is obviated. As its basis, it uses DSProxy which I ghost wrote last summer while working for an Open Source Software company.

DSProxy is used to collect all the sound information on a per-user basis. When vncviewer is launched, it opens a back channel on port 9138 to the server. All sound is handled via pthreads. There is a very good reason for using both the back channel and pthreads: to reduce latency. Extending the VNC protocol by adding sound packets provided horrible results as the VNC packets can be incredibly long.

Sound synchronization when watching mtv is really good--especially when you push raw VNC packets across a 100Mb/sec network. Rollergirl never looked and sounded better across a network.

gonxical provides a Gnome (GTK+) theme.

Sqliteman is the best developers and/or admins GUI tool for Sqlite3 in the world. No joking here (or just a bit only) - it contains the most complette feature set of all tools available. And its just the beginning...

Sqliteman is a Qt4 based GPLv2 application near the first stable release. The project has almost all planned features implemented. When it fills its feature list there will be a "stabilization" phase to catch all possible bugs.

But you can use Sqliteman as is. I do it regulary with no data loss.

Pharago provides a nice Gnome (GTK+) theme.

Pharago is a mix of Gonxical for the style and Gnursid for the colours.

There is an alternative menubar for blended window manager themes :

Clearlooks is an engine and it is easy to configure it to have different colour variations I suppose. Pharago is based on Gonxical just like Clarity is (pixmap themes) and it takes more time to change the colours because many pixmaps need to be redesigned !
