Free superkaramba software for linux

SuperKaramba is, in simple terms, a tool that allows you to easily create interactive eye-candy on your KDE desktop.
SuperKaramba is a tool that allows anyone to easily create and run little interactive widgets on a KDE desktop. Widgets are defined in a simple text file and can be augmented with Python code to make them interactive. Current widgets include everything from simple news headline displays to complete custom replacements for kicker, the KDE toolbar.
Currently SuperKaramba is made only for linux.
Theme writers create themes, or text files that define their widget. Then, they can optionally add python scripting to make their widget interactive. The possibilities are endless!
Main features:
- Display system information such as CPU Usage, MP3 playing, etc.
- Create cool custom toolbars that work any way imaginable
- Create little games or virtual pets that live on your desktop
- Display information from the internet, such as weather and headlines
The possibilities really are endless!
Enhancements:
- Themes now go to the background correctly when opening multiple themes at the same time
- itemDropped() callback now has x/y cooridinates
- Fixed the New Stuff dialogs installed status check marks for failed downloads
- Dont pop up the Theme Dialog when restoring a session and there arent any themes saved in the session
- Local themes can now be removed from the theme dialog, although we dont delete the theme out from underneath the user. It is delisted so that they can change their mind later and run it again.
- Downloaded themes from New Stuff get moved to trash:/ when a user clicks uninstall so they can restore it if they wish.
- Better checks for libknewstuff when compiling.
- Using New Stuff where theme authors post url links instead of file downloads will now open in a browser window for the user. Beware that closing this without downloading a package will still leave it as installed as far as New Stuff is concerned. (shortcoming of KNewStuff)

spell-karamba is a desktop applet for SuperKaramba that spells the typed words - letter by letter.

You can choose from deutsch, english, american, international and NATO spelling.

Installation:

Actually the installation is pretty easy:

Copy all files from the tarball into a new folder. A good choice would be $HOME/kde3/share/apps/superkaramba/themes/dwd. Thats all. You start the theme from a shell by "superkaramba spell.theme". If you have a superkaramba theme running already its even simpler. Right-click the open theme and select superkaramba - manage themes.

From there you can search for the .theme-file. Do not open any other file with the superkaramba application.

h4ckeramba is a system monitoring SuperKaramba theme.

I made this superkaramba theme to make my desktop look a bit more hacker style- yeah, it might be a little lame but I like its simplicity. What do you think?

BTW you can choose between a bigger and a smaller clock style, I recommend the bigger one, its the default. Dont forget to set your hda and hdb filesystem to the right mounted partition.

nanoramba is a system monitoring SuperKaramba theme. microramba was still too much for me so it got nanomized. This is the result:
An even smaller theme to monitor your:
- cpu load
- used ram
- used swap
- incoming traffic
- outgoing traffic
Didnt need the exact values. Im fine with the bars.
Enhancements:

CompactBlack Karamba is yet another simple system status SuperKaramba theme.
Also included source svg file.
It monitors:
- CPU usage
- System uptime
- Kernel
- Memory Load
- Swap Usage
- Network Usage
- HDD Usage

Super-Qstat is a theme for superkaramba that displays information about one or two game servers:

- ip of the server
- number of players on it
- current map
- ping
- name of the server
- display the name of the first 16 players with their frag count

All qstat game server are supported and TeamSpeak servers can be monitored too (without using Qstat because it was not working for me, so I wrote a complete module inside the theme).

To use it, edit .theme file and change qstat path then load the .theme in superkaramba, click inside theme on desktop to open a kdialog window to enter ip address of game server.

YOLK XMMS PLAYER is a Xmms player control SuperKaramba theme.
I realized that Aqua is required in most desktop palletes.
It supports:
- Play
- Pause
- REW
- FWW

FixkaraTheme is a little SuperKaramba theme, which is for gentoo with a resolution of 1280x1024.
FixkaraTheme informs you about:
- System
- CPU
- RAM
- Disk Peformance
- TCP Connections
- and you can syncronize your ebuild with sync and can emerge the packages.
