The breve simulation environment 2.5.1

The breve simulation environment 2.5.1

Tthe breve simulation environment is a 3D simulation environment for decentralized systems and artificial life. more>>
breve is a free, open-source software package which makes it easy to build 3D simulations of decentralized systems and artificial life.
Users define the behaviors of agents in a 3D world and observe how they interact. breve includes physical simulation and collision detection so you can simulate realistic creatures, and an OpenGL display engine so you can visualize your simulated worlds.
breve simulations are written in an easy to use language called steve. The language is object-oriented and borrows many features from languages such as C, Perl and Objective C, but even users without previous programming experience will find it easy to jump in. More information on the steve language can be found in the documentation section.
breve features an extensible plugin architecture which allows you to write your own plugins and interact with your own code. Writing plugins is simple and allows you to expand breve to work with existing projects. Plugins have been written in breve to generate MIDI music, download web pages, interact with a Lisp environment and interact with the "push" language.
Enhancements:
- An experimental Python language bridge is now available.
- There were also fixes related to Push language support and fixes for broken demos.

Lua Filesystem Extension Library 0.1

Lua extension library provides the filesystem primitives to your Lua scripts, which are missing from the core language. more>>
This extension library provides the filesystem primitives to your Lua scripts, which are missing from the core language. The exported primitives include mkdir, rmdir, stat, chown, chmod, and more.
Available filesystem primitives:
chdir()
chmod()
chown()
cwd()
is_dir()
is_file()
mkdir()
readdir()
rmdir()
stat()
This project was started when I was coding a simple Lua webserver and became frustrated at the lack of available filesystem primitives.
Enhancements:
- This is the first stable release of the software with complete documentation and a sufficiently useful set of exported primitives.

Random Phase Music Generator 2.0

Random Phase Music Generator 2.0

Random Phase Music Generator is a small program that generates random phase music. more>>
Random Phase Music Generator is a small program that generates random phase music. Random music has been around for a long time (from Mozarts musical dice game to John Cages chance music), but phase music was invented rather recently by Steve Reich.

It would be interesting to combine those ideas, so I have written this program as a tool for further experiments. Type xmkmf and then make to compile the program. LessTif users, replace xmkmf with mxmkmf.

If your xmkmf is broken, you have to install manually. Edit Makefile.man (examples for Solaris, AIX and LessTif are provided). Make sure INCS and LIBS are linking to the correct directories, then type make -f Makefile.man to compile.

Run phase from an X terminal. Some users might need to point LD_LIBRARY_PATH to the Motif libraries. After starting up the program, you can use the File menu to load or save the panel settings, and the Music menu to play the generated phase music or save it to a MIDI file.

freeglut 2.2.0

freeglut 2.2.0

freeglut is an OpenSourced clone of the GLUT library. more>>
freeglut is a completely OpenSourced alternative to the OpenGL Utility Toolkit (GLUT) library. GLUT was originally written by Mark Kilgard to support the sample programs in the second edition OpenGL RedBook.

Since then, GLUT has been used in a wide variety of practical applications because it is simple, widely available and highly portable.

GLUT (and hence freeglut) allows the user to create and manage windows containing OpenGL contexts on a wide range of platforms and also read the mouse, keyboard and joystick functions.

freeglut is released under the X-Consortium license.

The original GLUT library seems to have been abandoned with the most recent version (3.7) dating back to August 1998. Its license does not allow anyone to distribute modified library code.

This would be OK, if not for the fact that GLUT is getting old and really needs improvement. Also, GLUTs license is incompatible with some software distributions (e.g., XFree86).

Site Tools is a collection of Modules for perl that allow easy template integration, SQL forms creation, tables, sessions, and various other things that make web development a little easier to manage. Requires the SQLObject and PObject classes available on my project page. I have stopped developing these classes in favor of the Template Toolkit, it is a lot more robust and mod_perl aware, please use that instead.

To install everyhthing, follow the next instructions:

perl Makefile.PL
make
make test
make install

Basic documentation can be found through perldoc Site. It has pointers to other modules to look at.

SearchChips Bookmarker 1.0

SearchChips Bookmarker 1.0

SearchChips Bookmarker is an extension used to add all of your favorite link to your webpage. more>>
SearchChips Bookmarker is an extension used to add all of your favorite link to your webpage.

Add all of your favorite link to your webpage with the Bookmarking Button for SearchChips.

A hyperlink (often referred to as simply a link), is a reference or navigation element in a document to another section of the same document, another document, or a specified section of another document, that automatically brings the referred information to the user when the navigation element is selected by the user.

As such it is similar to a citation in literature, but with the distinction of automatic instant access. Combined with a data network and suitable access protocol, a computer can be instructed to fetch the resource referenced.

Hyperlinks are part of the foundation of the World Wide Web created by Tim Berners-Lee, but are not limited to HTML or the web. Hyperlinks may be used in almost any electronic media.

HREF is an acronym for Hypertext REFerence, as used in HTML.

Pauls Train Tracker is a Zope application. I wrote it for my father, thats Paul, while I was learning to develop for the Zope application server. Since hes found it useful, I thought Id share it with the Open Source community via the GPL.

Mixmaster is an anonymous remailer. more>>
Mixmaster is an anonymous remailer. Mixmaster is the type II remailer protocol and the most popular implementation of it.
Remailers provide protection against traffic analysis and allow sending email nonymously or pseudonymously. Mixmaster consists of both client and server installations and is designed to run on several operation systems including but not limited to *BSD, Linux and Microsoft Windows.
The current 2.9.x versions are the stable ones and widely deployed. The 3.0beta* releases are betas for the upcoming Mixmaster 3.0.
To download Mixmaster visit Sourceforges download center. Packages for the Debian GNU/Linux distribution can be found in the testing and unstable distributions on a mirror near you. Also see http://packages.debian.org/mixmaster.
For pingers and other remailer implementations see related Software.

rinse 0.7

rinse 0.7

rinse is a simple tool which allows you to bootstrap a basic installation of a number of RPM-based distributions on a Debian. more>>
rinse software was born out of a frustration with the currently available solutions for installing minimal copies of RPM-based distributions.
The need to perform simple chroot() installations of other distributions is not common, but the ability to do such a thing is very useful when it comes to testing new tools, and working towards the creation of new Xen guests.
The following distributions are supported:
- Centos 4 & 5
- Fedora Core 4, 5, 6 & 7
I plan to support OpenSUSE in the near future.
Enhancements:
- This is primarily a bugfix release, which restores the ability to install new distributions of Centos 4 & 5.

PloneFormGen 1.0.3

PloneFormGen 1.0.3

PloneFormGen provides a generic Plone form generator using fields, widgets and validators from Archetypes. more>>
PloneFormGen provides a generic Plone form generator using fields, widgets and validators from Archetypes.

Actions like mailing or saving form input are incorporated by included plug-in adapters.

This product provides a generic Plone form generator using fields, widgets and validators from Archetypes. It makes it possible to build simple contact, information-gathering or data-entry forms through Plones interface.

To use it, create a form folder, then add form fields as contents. Individual fields can display and validate themselves for testing purposes. The form folder creates a form from all the contained field content objects.

Final disposition of form input is handled via plug in action products. Action adapters included with this release include a mailer and a save-data adapter that saves input in tab-separated format for later download. When you first add a form folder, its configured as simple response form with input mailed to the owner.

Since PloneFormGenerator uses Archetypes fields, widgets and validators, its also a good tool for rapidly prototyping forms intended for use with Archetypes-derived content types.
