SQL::Routine::Language 0.70.3

SQL::Routine::Language 0.70.3

SQL::Routine::Language is a Perl module for what language or grammar SQL::Routine speaks. more>>
SQL::Routine::Language is a Perl module for what language or grammar SQL::Routine speaks.

SQL::Routine contains SQL schemas and queries, represented as a tree of atomic tokens; it is structurally like an abstract syntax tree or an XML DOM, but one that only accepts, respectively, a specific source language or XML schema. See SQL::Routine for more details.

The modules API and code make it look like a generic tree, composed of related Nodes. The restrictions for which attributes each Node can have, and its relationship to others, is defined by data (though for efficiency, that data is also contained in the same module and cant be changed at runtime).

As an analogy, the module has an API like a generic XML DOM, but it can enforce a specific XML Schema (the data). The context in which it is used is like a generic database interface. The API basically has an "execute" function, to which a SQL string is given, within that, there is a huge amount of flexibility of what the SQL string can say, but it must conform to a specific grammar.

This document, SQL::Routine::Language, is meant to say what all the types of Nodes are, and what attributes and relationships are allowed for each. It is meant to say what grammar for SQL::Routines language is, or what schema it accepts.

The type of information this document would provide is functionally similar to the SQL design documents, or vendor-specific ones.

Remote MySQL Query 1.0

Remote MySQL Query 1.0

Remote MySQL Query is a PHP class that can easily execute queries on a remote MySQL server using only HTTP. more>>
Remote MySQL Query is a PHP class that can easily execute queries on a remote MySQL server using only HTTP.

It works by accessing a PHP script on the remote web server that executes queries based on passed in URL parameters.

The client passes a secret key to the remote script to prevent unauthorized access.

The remote script passes back the results to the requesting client using XML to marshal the data.

The class parses the results XML data returned by the server script and returns an array.

It, also, retrieves (into class variables) the number of records returned by the query and the time the query took to execute.

The server script may be used to execute MySQL queries that can be retrieved by programs written in other languages besides PHP.

Querylog 0.1

Querylog 0.1

Querylog is a console tool for performing SQL queries on a (log) file. more>>
Querylog project is a console tool for performing SQL queries on a (log) file.

Lines from one or more text files or stdin are matched, using regular expressions to an in memory database on which SQL queries can be performed.

You also specify queries in the config file (SELECTs, INSERTs, CREATE VIEWs, etc). Queries that generate output are printed to stdout in plain text at the moment. In the future it will be possible to specify output formatters. The tool is written in C++ using the boost program options and regex library and the sqlite libraries for the in memory database.

I first wrote this tool to extract accounting information from cups page log files (in which accounting infomation was on different lines than job information), but due to the generic nature of the tool it can be used in many situations in which specific information needs to be retrieved from (in the future multiple) text files and presented in a more usable format.

Building:

Youll need the boost headers and libraries for (program_options and regex) which you can get at http://www.boost.org/, and the sqlite3 headers and libraries which you can get at http://www.sqlite.org/.

Im using boost build, so if you have that all you have to do is run:

> bjam

Alternativly, as the program now has only a single source file, you can just use g++ to compile and link it.

Ill create a nicer build enviroment one of these days.

Running:

Options must be specified on the commandline or in a config file (key = ["]value["]). Run querylog --help for details. The input file may be ommited, in which case data will be read from stdin until the eof.

Language::XSB is a Perl module that allows you to use XSB from Perl.

SYNOPSIS

use Language::XSB :query;
use Language::Prolog::Types::overload;
use Language::Prolog::Sugar vars=>[qw(X Y Z)],
functors=>{equal => =},
functors=>[qw(is)],
chains=>{plus => +,
orn => ;};

xsb_set_query( equal(X, 34),
equal(Y, -12),
is(Z, plus( X,
Y,
1000 )));

while(xsb_next()) {
printf("X=%d, Y=%d, Z=%dn",
xsb_var(X), xsb_var(Y), xsb_var(Z))
}

print join("n", xsb_find_all(orn(equal(X, 27),
equal(X, 45)), X)), "n";

ABSTRACT

Language::XSB provides a bidirectional interface to XSB (http://xsb.sourceforge.net/).

From the XSB manual:

XSB is a research-oriented Logic Programming and Deductive
Database System developed at SUNY Stony Brook. In addition to
providing all the functionality of Prolog, it contains
features not usually found in Logic Programming Systems such
as evaluation according to the Well Founded Semantics through
full SLG resolution, constraint handling for tabled programs,
a compiled HiLog implementation, unification factoring and
interfaces to other systems such as ODBC, C, Java, Perl, and
Oracle

This package implements a bidirectional interface to XSB, thats means that Perl can call XSB that can call Perl back that can call XSB again, etc.:

Perl -> XSB -> Perl -> XSB -> ...

(Unfortunately, you have to start from Perl, XSB->Perl->... is not possible.)
The interface to XSB is based on the objects created by the package Language::Prolog::Types. You can also use Language::Prolog::Sugar package, a front end for the types package to improve the look of your source (just some syntactic sugar).

To make queries to XSB you have to set first the query term with the function xsb_set_query, and then use xsb_next and xsb_result to iterate over it and get the results back.

Only one query can be open at any time, unless when Perl is called back from XSB, but then the old query is not visible.
