One-Wire Weather is a client program for Dallas Semiconductor / AAG 1-wire weather station kits, providing a graphical (animated) display to monitor outside temperature, wind speed and direction, rainfall, and humidity.
Extra temperature sensors may be added. A 1-wire "hub" may be used for improved reliability and range. Weather data may be logged to CSV files, parsed to command line programs, sent to the Henriksen Windows client, or uploaded to Web servers at Dallas, The Weather Underground, and HAMweather.

- Added facility for waveform slew/timing adjustment for DS2490.

Connect-k project is a framework for experimenting with and testing general AIs for games within the connect-k family.

Connect-k family of games contains games defined by three parameters: k, p, and q. The game is played on a Go-style (but not necessarily size) board. There are two players, black and white, who take turn placing stones on the board. The first player (black) plays q stones on the first turn and each player then plays p stones on every succeeding turn. The first player to form a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal sequence of k stones wins.

The game family includes Tic-Tac-Toe, Go-moku without capture rules, and a new game, Connect-6. Connect-6 was formally introduced and analyzed by Dr. I-Chen Wu in a series of papers that attempted to show that the game is fair. This has not been decisively proven but appears to be the case.

The Connect-k program originated as a University of Minnesota undergraduate Artificial Intelligence course project for the Spring 2007 semester. Aside from me, the project group included Jeff Deitch, Gabe Emerson, and Erik Shimshock. We attempted to develop general game playing algorithms capable of playing any game within the Connect-k family. The Connect-k program we produced is currently the only open source program to play Connect-6.

Polidori is a DVD Authoring System for Gnome and Linux.
Instead of trying to re-invent the wheel in several areas, it instead integrates several excellent tools like dvdauthor, dvdrtools, ogle, etc., already available for Linux, and bundled with most distributions.
At this time, there are no visual DVD authoring tools available for Linux, compared to the vast amount of similar tools available on Windows and Macintosh. The pieces are all available in Linux, they just need to be integrated into something easier to use.

Polidori is named after Dr. John Polidori, a writer of early 19th Century Gothic fiction. Many scholars feel that Dr. Polidori created the genre of vampire fiction with his short story The Vampyre (1819). This story marks the first time a vampire is portrayed as an aristocratic and romantic character, as seen in later vampire characters like Count Dracula and Lestat de Lioncourt. Why name a software application after this author?
Because the name sounded cool and distinctive.
