Form Spam Bot Blocker 0.2

Form Spam Bot Blocker 0.2

Form Spam Bot Blocker is a PHP class that can generate forms that prevent submission by spam robots. more>>
Form Spam Bot Blocker is a PHP class that can generate forms that prevent submission by spam robots without requiring human users to enter special values.

The project generates hidden inputs for forms that have special values that are verified on the server after the form is submitted to eventually detect whether the form was sent by a spam robot.

The class can generate an hidden input that contains an encoded value of the user browser, user computer IP address and the current time.

The class verifies whether these browser name and IP address are still the same, and also whether the form is being submitted by a normal time interval after it was create, like when it is submitted by a real human user.

The class also generates a text input that are invisible for the user. A human user would not fill this input. If the input is submitted with a value, it was certainly a robot.

When the class detects a situation that demonstrates the form was submitted by a robot, the application should not accept the form submission.

Spam Trainer 0.1.5

Spam Trainer 0.1.5

Spam Trainer makes it easier for GNOME users to train spam filtering software. more>>
Spam Trainer project makes it easier for GNOME users to train spam filtering software (e.g. SpamBayes or SpamAssassin) that "learns" how to tell the difference between real email (ham) and unsolicited messages (spam).

Not all email clients have spam filtering (and training) built in, and training external filtering programs can be fiddly.

Spam Trainer was written to provide easy (drag and drop) training from the Evolution mail client, and should work just as well with any email client that supports the drag and drop protocol implemented by the GTK+ toolkit.

Puzzle Blocks 0.5.3

Puzzle Blocks 0.5.3

Puzzle Blocks is a multi-platform puzzle game, designed for both Linux and Windows. more>>
Turts Puzzle Blocks multi-platform puzzle game, designed for both Linux and Windows. Turts Puzzle Blocks is also the current project of Turt99 Productions. The goal of the project is to gain experience C++ and Object Oriented Design, as well as to help in the learn process of Linux as a development platform.

Turts Puzzle Blocks has actually gone through many stages; it started its life as "Turts Breakdown". At this point the graphics where being designed so the "blocks" didnt exists. Once the "blocks" where created there was a need for the name to be changed, and a lot of new modes (or mini games) seemed to fall into the design. As of the Beta release you are basically seeing what "Turts Breakdown" was to be, however there are many more plans for Turts Puzzle Blocks.

Turts Puzzle Blocks is created using KDevelop 2.1 under Linux Redhat 9.0, and uses the SDL libraries. SDL was chosen because it is a multi-platform library that would allow the seamless development for 2 operating systems. SDL main library supplies the support for the windows and the display, but Turts Puzzle Blocks also uses two additional SDL libraries SDL_image and SDL_Mixer. SDL_image supports the use for PNG and TGA files, which allows for Alpha blending and results in clean lines and smooth graphics. SDL_mixer is used for playing sounds and the background music.

Spam Blacklist Checker 2005-03-02

Spam Blacklist Checker 2005-03-02

Spam Blacklist Checker can check to see if an IP address is flagged in a spam blacklist (dnsbl.sorbs.net). more>>
Spam Blacklist Checker can check to see if an IP address is flagged in a spam blacklist (dnsbl.sorbs.net).

The reason is that BT allocate me IPs dynamically using DHCP, and more and more of the ones I get are flagged in spam blacklists in such a way that all the mail I send gets flagged as spam, with a big, ugly [SPAM] in the subject line. This is really annoying, because I dont see the outgoing mail. Usually it gets black-holed, so Im sitting aroung for a response to a mail that never arrived.

In an effort to reduce the problem, I have written this little program to check in DNS to see if the IP address I have got is blacklisted or not.

Installation:

For now you need to install the module Stuff::SpamBL manually, and just download and run the program file as it is.

The module and the program will be included in future versions of the Stuff Tools, but for now they are available separatley.

Usage:

The program reads list of IP addresses and/or domain names from the command line (or standard input), and outputs two columns: IP address and blacklist flags.

Example output

81.156.32.127 DSN-BL:DYNAMIC
81.156.32.128 DSN-BL:DYNAMIC
81.156.32.129 DSN-BL:DYNAMIC:EXPLOITED
81.156.32.130 DSN-BL:DYNAMIC:EXPLOITED
81.156.32.131 DSN-BL:DYNAMIC

Here we can see that all the IP addresses 81.156.32.127 - 81.156.32.131 are flagged as dynamic IPs (so they get a small additional score over static IPs in Spam Assassin), but the IPs 81.156.32.129 and 81.156.32.130 are also flagged as EXPLOIDED, which means they will surely get a big spam score in Spam Assassin. Bad for the owner of the IP.

Spoink is an output-plugin for snort that works by blocking access to attackers using OpenBSDs pf api.

All you need is an OpenBSD machine (or pf compatible), and snort (last version works well).

Spoink uses a pf table and a blocking rule to stop "attackers" accessing our system. To protect from false negatives you must have a whitelist full of ips you want save (see section 2).

Spoink program only blocks attacks defined in snort rules so think for a minute what rules you want to use first.

moltiblock is a user-space plugin to netfilter for blocking lots of nets. more>>
moltiblock is a user-space plugin to netfilter for blocking lots of nets. No need to recompile kernel or patch other sources.
To install just type make. Then copy the binary to /usr/local/sbin or wherever.
Put one CIDR per line in /etc/moltiblock/cidr.deny, like so:
-- snip --
207.46.0.0/16
207.68.128.0/18
207.68.192.0/20
-- snip --
You can probably put comments in there, anything that doesnt look like CIDR till be ignored.
And then, run the daemon.
An deeeeeen, run something like
iptables -I FORWARD -p tcp --dport 6880:6999 -j QUEUE
Enhancements:
- First (hacky) version (0.10)

IMAP Spam Begone 0.97

IMAP Spam Begone 0.97

IMAP Spam Begone is a script that scans an IMAP inbox for spam using SpamAssassin, moving any found to another folder. more>>
IMAP Spam Begone is a script that scans an IMAP inbox for spam using SpamAssassin, moving any found to another folder. Unlike the normal mode of deployments for SpamAssassin, isbg does not need to be involved in mail delivery, and can run on completely different machines to where your mailbox actually is.
It has been filtering my work email, some of which comes from a legacy email address that is from a spam unfiltered system. I run it as a cronjob every 15 minutes, and have had it doing that for 6 months. I get about 500 spams a month. Many other users are using it for a various servers abd a variety of platforms.
There are no known outstanding bugs.
Main features:
- Works with all common IMAP servers
- Works on Linux, MacOS X and Windows
- Can do IMAP over SSL
- Can remember your password
- Will work painlessly against multiple IMAP accounts and servers
- Is not involved in the mail delivery process, and so can run on any machine that can contact your IMAP server
- Highly configurable
- Sensible defaults so you dont have to do any configuring :-)

RBL Spam Daemon 0.0.4

RBL Spam Daemon 0.0.4

rblsd is a small, fast, SpamAssassin-compatible spam filter. more>>
rblsd is a small, fast, SpamAssassin-compatible spam filter. It filters mail by performing a series of RBL lookups on each message. This results in fast, accurate, low-load spam filtration. This can be used as a standalone, replacement for SpamAssassin, or as an secondary filter to increase mail throughput.
As for the folks here in collegeland, were getting to that point in the semester when we discover its the fifth week already, and midterms are coming up, and all of a sudden, weve got tests. I have nearly completed a major improvement to the internal loop (the backbone of the server), but dont use it right now, because clients wont time out (you should note that the development version in cvs is rarely usable for real mail, and sometimes it wont even run normally). Here are features that Im planning for the fifth release:
Compatibility with firedns To me, rblsd and firedns seem meant for each other. This is optional, of course, just be sure your OS has copy-on-write :-).
Multiple-user configurations, with flexible passwd files.
A "lite" version, that processes a single piece of mail from input. rblsd was designed for a high volume of mail, and is indeed optimized for this, but I could create a light-weight mail filter that uses the rich ruleset of rblsd for a less hardcore user.
The ability to record marked spam (in its unprocessed form) for any reason you may need a collection of spam mails (to train a smart filter perhaps? Vipuls Razor?)
Of course, a few new knobs to turn, in order to best reduce spam, based on your particular mail flow patterns.
And of course, performance improvements.
Hopefully this will get done by November. It is possible I may have to put this off till winter break, in which case, late December, at the latest. Ill try to give occasional progress reports, so check the site back if youre interested. Meanwhile, Im going to drift back into college life and prioritize my obligations there. Have fun out there in the real world!
Enhancements:
- Countless internal changes, clean-ups, and minor bugfixes made.
- Fixed support for new resolver libraries (BIND-9).
- spamc2 rebuilt from the ground up (built from SpamAssassins spamc).
- Cleaned up the appearance of the filtered messages.
- Improved hash table performance (faster responses).
- Documentation rewritten.
- Configuration file added (see rblsd.conf).
- Custom rules based on header IP addresses added.
- Support for blacklists and whitelists via SpamAssassin configuration file added.
- Network access rules added.

spam.pl is a perl script that extracts all relaying hosts from the headers of a spam mail. more>>
spam.pl is a perl script that extracts all relaying hosts from the headers of a spam mail and sends a complaint mail to all the responsible mail server administrators.
spam.pl is free software released under the GPL license.
There is no warranty, neither expressed nor implied, that spam.pl would do what it is said to do. It is up to you to use it.
Main features:
- Use your own complaint message
- Enter your own list of friendly hosts (probably the friendly hosts that relayed the mail to you)
- You should also instruct spam.pl what email-address it should put in the From: line when it mails its complaints.
- Run the script without sending any mail to see what receivers it could extract.
- Run the script with only one specified receiver, so that you can mail yourself and see what it looks good.
- Invoke the script from inside your favorite mail program. Just pipe the whole mail including headers into this script. You can of course just save the whole mail first and then pipe it manually into this script.
- Complain through the abuse.net service.
- Resolves IP-only addresses
- Optionally extract host names to complain to from the mail bodys http:// links.
- Can be made to use the whois.abuse.net lookup service.
