Geotrace 0.0.4

Geotrace 0.0.4

Geotrace is a geographical traceroute utility. more>>
Geotrace is a geographical traceroute utility. Geotrace provide graphical view on the map. It has many geographical maps.
In order to be able to use a new map with geotrace, you only need to know one thing: the longitude/latitude of the top left and bottom right corners. Most maps you will find will be centered on 0,0 (about 5 degs south of Ghana and 10 degs west of Gabon. for those of you who dont know, its in Africa.). So, lets do it step by step:
1) Find a map. there are plenty on the web. Nasas a good place to find them (it is a mess though). Or grab one of the few maps at a site with maps for XGlobe and XPlanet.
The image must be in a format understood by gdk-pixbuf (most images youll find will be jpeg or gif which work).
2) Go to the maps/ directory in geotrace. Put the map in there and open up maps.properties
3) on the second line, youll see MAPS:World50.gif, World100.gif etc... Thats a list of all the maps. Add the name of your recently downloaded map on that line.
4) now, you need to tell geotrace what the coordinates are. Add a line to the file that looks as follows:
filename:BOUNDARY=lon1,lat1,lon2,lat2
filename: case sensitive, map has to be in the maps/ folder
lon1 and lat1: longitude and latitude of the top left corner
lon2 and lat2: longitude and latitude of the bottom right corner
As I said earlier, for most maps youll find, youll get -180,90,180,-90 which means that the map is centered on 0,0. However, the two world maps (World100 and World50) in geotrace are centered on 10W,0
You might notice that the three maps of the US have another line associated with them. Thats the alber projection. You probably wont have to deal with that.
4) Run geotrace, select your map from the drop-down and enjoy.
Version restrictions:
- Some hops may have extravagant locations, but for once, its not my fault. The netgeo server does not have fully updated records. So my advice is, just live with it
Enhancements:
- added line color and width options.
- added cmdline args. host to trace, and startup map.
- added map options: path to maps and startup map.
- warning to check paths when run for the first time.
- added status bar

- 2001-04-05
- added option: resolve host name or not
- load/save options from file (~/.geotrace) 2001-04-04
- fixed bug that caused last map in file not to be read (world100) 2001-04-03 added options for traceroute (path to exec, timeout and maxttl)

wyoGuide 1.0.4

wyoGuide 1.0.4

wyoGuide is a guide and a tutorial for developing well-designed cross-platform applications. more>>
wyoGuide is a guide and a tutorial for developing well-designed cross-platform applications. Where possible any guideline is accompanied with sample code. The included fully working demo application applies all these guidelines and is well suited as a starting code base for your own projects.

wyoGuides main goal is to show how to develop the GUI of your application suitable for any platform. Development with these guidelines gives your application a professional set of base functionality. Application applying these guidelines should allow for ease of use, so a user might immediately feel comfortable.

There is no limitation to use these guidelines with other languages or with other frameworks. The only obstacle is you have to write any code yourself until somebody volunteers to submit code samples to wyoGuide. So far there is only code written in C++ using the wxWidgets framework.

wyoGuide is a work in progress which means not all functionality is specified yet. This leaves a lot of room for improvement if you feel so. wyoGuide is thought for helping you but its also thought for you to help others. Any suggestion for improvement is welcomed (see feedback). These guidelines should and hopefully will get to a state where they simply are just usable.

FreeDoko 0.7.4

FreeDoko 0.7.4

FreeDoko is a Doppelkopf-game. more>>
FreeDoko is a Doppelkopf-game, written by Borg Enders and Diether Knof. It is developed under and for the platforms Linux and Windows.

The game is still under developement, but since some time playable.

The game ”Doppelkopf“ is a card game for four or more Players. One game will be played by four players.

Doppelkopf originates probably from the mostly in south germany played game ”Schafkopf“. Its name comes from the double (in German: Doppel) existence of each Card (Doppel-Schafkopf). Meanwhile Doppelkopf is played in whole germany, but mainly in north germany and the region of Rhein and Main.

Doppelkopf is a card game with 48 cards and at least 4 players. It is not unlike the card game ”Skat“. Doppelkopf is played with two normal Skat packs of cards (each has 32 cards) without sevens and eights. Here the players with the club queens are playing together. So there are while playing often new pairs.

Doppelkopf is like Skat a game which depends on the skills of each player. This guarantees a exciting and varied game event.

postprox 0.2.0

postprox 0.2.0

postprox is an SMTP proxy which copies an SMTP conversation between its input and another SMTP server. more>>
postprox is an SMTP proxy which copies an SMTP conversation between its input and another SMTP server, but spools the DATA portion to a temporary file and runs a specified program on it before passing it on to the output server - or outputting an SMTP error code instead if the content filter says so.

postprox is design to do only one job: proxy SMTP conversations and pass message contents to another program to determine whether to accept or reject the message.

With this in mind, postprox is small and has a minimal feature set; its reduced complexity reduces the risk of bugs and security holes.

Geography::Countries 1.4

Geography::Countries 1.4

Geography::Countries is a Perl module with 2-letter, 3-letter, and numerical codes for countries. more>>
Geography::Countries is a Perl module with 2-letter, 3-letter, and numerical codes for countries.

SYNOPSIS

use Geography::Countries;

$country = country DE; # Germany
@list = country 666; # (PM, SPM, 666,
# Saint Pierre and Miquelon, 1)

This module maps country names, and their 2-letter, 3-letter and numerical codes, as defined by the ISO-3166 maintenance agency [1], and defined by the UNSD.

The country subroutine.

This subroutine is exported by default. It takes a 2-letter, 3-letter or numerical code, or a country name as argument. In scalar context, it will return the country name, in list context, it will return a list consisting of the 2-letter code, the 3-letter code, the numerical code, the country name, and a flag, which is explained below. Note that not all countries have all 3 codes; if a code is unknown, the undefined value is returned.

There are 3 categories of countries. The largest category are the current countries. Then there is a small set of countries that no longer exist. The final set consists of areas consisting of multiple countries, like Africa. No 2-letter or 3-letter codes are available for the second two sets. (ISO 3166-3 [3] defines 4 letter codes for the set of countries that no longer exist, but the author of this module was unable to get her hands on that standard.) By default, country only returns countries from the first set, but this can be changed by giving country an optional second argument.
The module optionally exports the constants CNT_F_REGULAR, CNT_F_OLD, CNT_F_REGION and CNT_F_ANY. These constants can also be important all at once by using the tag :FLAGS.

CNT_F_ANY is just the binary or of the three other flags. The second argument of country should be the binary or of a subset of the flags CNT_F_REGULAR, CNT_F_OLD, and CNT_F_REGION - if no, or a false, second argument is given, CNT_F_REGULAR is assumed. If CNT_F_REGULAR is set, regular (current) countries will be returned; if CNT_F_OLD is set, old, no longer existing, countries will be returned, while CNT_F_REGION is used in case a region (not necessarely) a country might be returned. If country is used in list context, the fifth returned element is one of CNT_F_REGULAR, CNT_F_OLD and CNT_F_REGION, indicating whether the result is a regular country, an old country, or a region.

In list context, country returns a 5 element list. To avoid having to remember which element is in which index, the constants CNT_I_CODE2, CNT_I_CODE3, CNT_I_NUMCODE, CNT_I_COUNTRY and CNT_I_FLAG can be imported. Those constants contain the indices of the 2-letter code, the 3-letter code, the numerical code, the country, and the flag explained above, respectively. All index constants can be imported by using the :INDICES tag.

The code2, code3, numcode and countries routines.
All known 2-letter codes, 3-letter codes, numerical codes and country names can be returned by the routines code2, code3, numcode and countries. None of these methods is exported by default; all need to be imported if one wants to use them. The tag :LISTS imports them all. In scalar context, the number of known codes or countries is returned.

Global Village 0.0.5

Global Village 0.0.5

Global Village project can place a front-end, or graphical user interface onto the CLI interface of Xplanet. more>>
Global Village project is a gnome application designed to place a front-end, or graphical user interface onto the CLI interface of Xplanet, by Hari Nair.
Originally intended to create and update the desktop wallpaper in a gnome environment, showing a traditional rectangular projection of the planet Earth, the scope of the project has been expanded. Global Village now provides as many of the features of Xplanet as seem reasonable, and with the ability for plugins the scope is nearly limitless. But do take it with a grain of salt...
Current Status
Currently, Global Village is barely functional. It can be considered in the pre-alpha stage of development.
It can currently show a preview of the final image, and then display that image on the desktop at user specified intervals (in seconds), and has an icon in the notification area of the Gnome panel.
Plugins are semi-working, but undergoing a lot of change as I decide what they do adn dont need to be capable of. The idea is that plugins will manage all the extra features users require, like cloudmaps, marker and arc files.
Main features:
- Select a planet.
- Select a projection.
- Bodys North Type.
- Rotate the bodys North Pole
- The Zoom level
- The Suns glare
- Latitude and Longitude, which can be set as:
- North Pole
- South Pole
- Equator
- Random Latitude and Longitude
- Or any number of user configerable locations.

eZ region 1.1.4

eZ region 1.1.4

eZ region provides updated eZpublish modules that provide Regions/States. more>>
eZ region provides updated eZpublish modules that provide Regions/States.

eZ region is a PHP class and an updated set of eZ publish modules that provide support for regions or states to eZ publishs eZ address and eZ user modules.

eZ region is not a killer app, but it made eZ publish one for me!

eZ region provides a lookup table of what some
call regions or states, depending on the country.

eZ region is an added dependacy to eZ address.
eZ region was based off the eZ country module.
eZ regions are each associated with an eZ country.
eZ region design is dependant on the eZ address and eZ country modules.

eZ region can be used in at least the following ways:

Default - Providing ezuser/user/userwithaddress with a region or stat list.
Requiring only eZ address, and eZ user .

Trade - Providing eztrade/user with a region list included in the trade transaction.
Requiring eZ address, eZ user and eZ trade.

Note: eZ region 1.1.4 does not contain the eZ trade user
functions to meet the trade use dependancy, though future releases (1.1.5) will.

International Regions / States:

eZ region can be used to support non-US States.

Only states from the United States of America are included in eZ region 1.1.4.
Regions from any country can be used in conjunction with U.S. states.

The missing dependancy for other regions is a list of
South American and European regions and some sql additions.

All countries have regions in some fashion or style.
A fair amount of North America has states. Other countries
Canada, Mexico, South & Central America & Europe use other names to lable their regions.

Users from other countries can use eZ region by populating
the eZAddress_Region table with a list of regions/states/provinces associated to their countrys ez country ID.

Note: International users feel free to contact me regarding,
including your countrys regions in eZ region.
