Sound 1.4

Sound lets you mathematically create sounds in Java. You define your sounds in terms of 16-bit linear code for the waveform, -- an array of samplings. The U_Law.class will then convert that to (or from) *.AU mu-law 8-bit encoding format which you can then play with AudioPlayer.player.start(bis) in an application or with Applet.getAudioClip in an Applet. Sound - Sound lets you mathematically create sounds in Java.

You define your sounds in terms of 16-bit linear code for

the waveform, -- an array of samplings. The U_Law.class will

then convert that to (or from) *.AU mu-law 8-bit encoding

format which you can then play with

AudioPlayer.player.start(bis) in an application or with

Applet.getAudioClip in an Applet.

This is just a sample program. You would insert your own mathematical

functions or cannibalise parts of the code.

Use winzip to extract U_Law.java and Sound.java with

folder names into the commindprodsound directory.

java com.mindprod.sound.Sound

Kasound 0.5

Kasound 0.5

Kasound is a simple tool for the configuration of ALSA settings. more>>
KASound aims to be a complete frontend for setting up .asoundrc. Currently it supports software playback mixing (dmix), capture multiplexing (dsnoop), resampling and format conversion (plug) and surroung channel mapping (route).
We hope that this tool will make configuring a soundcard under Linux very easy.
Dmix and Dsnoop, combined with Asym, allow several programs to open the sound card device simultaneously. For example, enabling Dmix will allow your mail client to play its notification sounds while you are playing music. Dsnoop allows several programs to access the data stream coming from a sound card.
Route allows configuration of which channels are sent to which speakers. This, for example, enables the user to duplicate a stereo source to all the other speakers in their 7.1 setup. Other simple operations, such as swapping stereo channels, are also supported by route.
While this interface is extremely powerful, it is also difficult to configure. This has lead to several myths about Linuxs sound capabilities - for example that ALSA cant play many sounds simultaneously.
Enhancements:
- Configuration of OSS Emulation device numbers was added along with preliminary support for internationalization.
- GUI consistence was fixed along with many small and large bugs.

Sound Studio 1.0.6

Sound Studio 1.0.6

Sound Studio is a Sound Editing Tool. more>>
Sound Studio is a Tcl/Tk application written by Paul Sharpe as his third year individual project, for which he received the Microsoft Prize for Software Engineering. It was subsequently improved by Robin Whitehead.

It enables recording, playback and simple cut & paste editing of sound files of diverse formats on a PC equipped with a soundcard and the OSS (formally VoxWare) sound drivers.

It uses Lance Norskogs Sox for format conversion; the version weve used is bundled together with this software in its entirety to prevent incompatibility problems, although you should try it with your own sox if you have a more recent one.

Sound Studio is now "finished", but no doubt there are loads of bugs still to be found and features to be added.

QTuneroid is a musical instrument tuner, designed to tune musical instruments on PC . more>>
QTuneroid is a musical instrument tuner, designed to tune musical instruments on PC using a microphone or by directly connecting the instrument to the PCs sound card.
This program actually is a fork of Tuneroid by Jozef Kosoru (check his page at "http://www.uid0.sk/zyzstar/?tuneroid" ) which i made because i needed a good tuner, but dont want to use huge and sluggish KDE desktop, nor even install KDE libraries. So i ported Tuneroid to pure Qt and made some tweaks to UI slightly...
Enhancements:
- small ui fixes
- several build fixes

WML::Card 0.02

WML::Card 0.02

WML::Card is a Perl extension for builiding WML Cards according to the browser being used. more>>
WML::Card is a Perl extension for builiding WML Cards according to the browser being used.

SYNOPSIS

use WML::Card;
my $options= [ [Option 1, http://...], [Option 2, http://...], ];
my $c = WML::Card->guess(index,Wap Site); $c->link_list(indice, undef, 0, $options, $options); $c->print;

This perl library simplifies the creation of WML cards on the fly. It produces the most suitable wml code for the browser requesting the card. In this way the one building the cards does not have to worry about the differences in how each wap browser displays the wml code. In combination wht WML::Deck it provides functionality to build WAP applications.

Methods

$card = WML::Card->guess( $id, $title, [$user_agent] );
This class method constructs a new WML::Card object. The first argument defines the WML cards id and the second argument its title. The if the third argument is not defined, the value is obtained from $ENV{HTTP_USER_AGENT}.

$c->buttons($label, $type, $task, $href)
$c->table ($data, $title, $offset, $pager, @headers)
$c->link_list($name, $listtitle, $offset, $pager, $data, $align)
$c->value_list($name, $listtitle, $offset,$pager,$data)

The variable $data is an array reference like: my $menu_items= [ [Option 1, http://...], [Option 2, http://...], ];

The variable $pager is the number of items wanted to be displayed in each card.

$c->print
$c->info($content)
$c->img($file, $alt)
$c->input($label, $text, $name, $format, $type, $size, $target, $arg);
$c->link($target, $text);
$c->br

S-Jog 0.6

S-Jog 0.6

S-Jog is a GUI for Sony VAIO Jog Wheel. more>>
S-Jog is a GUI for Sony VAIO Jog Wheel.
S-Jog is a program that uses the Sony Vaio laptops Jog Wheel to launch user applications, adjust the screen brightness, volume, and also to scroll pages up and down (like a mousewheel).
S-Jog pops up when you move the Jog Wheel, then disappears after 3 seconds of inactivity so that it doesnt waste desktop space.
The aim of S-Jog is to give Linux a nice graphical application to manage Jog-Dial wheel on Sony Vaio laptops. It utilizes the Sony Programmable I/O driver in recent 2.4.x kernels or the legacy SPIC driver provided in S-Jog distribution.
Currently, S-Jog is able to launch applications defined in the sjogrc file, adjust the screen brightness level and also the master volume of the sound card. Also S-Jog makes the Jog-Dial work like a mousewheel and it runs in background.
Enhancements:
- README, sjog.1: Updated doc file
